It's only just after 9am and the staff are busy receiving deliveries and making arrangements. Services included catering for weddings, funerals, and other occasions. What to buy? In the end I go for a fiver's worth of fresh-in-today, pungent-as-you-like star-gazer lillies. I It's well worth remembering that this florist opens at 8am so you can always pop in, like I am, on the way to work.

I know a decent bunch of flowers can be expensive but I think the prices are reasonable here. If I got flowers on regular occasions I'd take advantage of their loyalty card; every time £7.50 is spent you get a stamp, once 25 stamps have been collected then you get a free £10 gift voucher. The girl that was serving me (sadly I can't remember her name, but she had blonde hair!) was really lovely, very helpful and clearly proud of her work and her wares. They also have a great selection of vases and other decorative items - again, looking a bit more interesting than your factory-produced ornamental bits and bobs. Sometimes I like going in here not to buy anything but just hang around and enjoy the sights, smells and general colourfulness of this shop. It's a beautiful, bright breath of fresh air.

They have a lovely selection of beautiful flowers, vases, and small gifts. As you walk in you'll notice a large glass fridge with big fresh flowers kept inside. The service in here is well above and beyond. Jo is the manager and is very friendly, happy to answer any question that you may have. They cater for weddings, exhibitions, dinner dances, events..... and so on. They are also part of the NEC, so have no problem fitting out for large exhibitions. The website is being updated, and gift vouchers are available through E-florist. Opening hours are 9am-6pm mon-fri, and 10-5pm on a Saturday.

In fact, there's a very large section of educational games - that you just don't usually see in a lot of shops nowadays - they're definitely worth a look! As well as a toy shop, Louise's doubles up as a greetings cards shop, so adults can have a mooch around and buy some unusual and quirky cards, while their children are let loose to explore the depths of the toy sections. I've purchased some unique animal cards from here before (including cute hamster ones) which have been sent out to many of my friends on their birthdays. These selections of cards aren't usually found in most chain card shops, so it's a real treat to find something different.

We had never been here before but it was convenient to the care home she had been staying in. From the moment we entered the shop we were made to feel so welcome and at ease. Nothing was too much trouble to assist us in choosing the flowers in what was a very sad time for us. Today Friday 7th February we collected the flower arrangements. When we were shown the flower arrangement my wife was overcome with emotion and tears. They were beautiful and everything she wanted and beyond hers and my expectations. What a wonderful skill and talent Sarah and her colleagues have. Outstanding value and far better than we have had before. Although we live some distance away we will be back and highly recommend you to pay a visit. To Sarah and colleagues a big big thank you for your understanding, empathy and brilliant work. X

Sniff it, people. This particular florist is a little unusual for a couple of reasons. FIrstly, there didn't seem to be actually all that many flowers. They have a lot of general decorative paraphernalia, which is nice, but they mostly take orders for flowers, hence not being knee-deep in gerberas. They are also next to the Co-op funeral parlour, which is, of course, sensible, but also a little morbid. For people that just want some flowers to brighten up the place, that is, rather than being constantly reminded of death. In fact, there is an adjoining door between the two businesses, which, again, is all very practical but just seems a bit.... conveyor-belt funeral style to me. They clearly also cater for happier occasions also, with lots of 'New Baby' displays, which brightens the place up a bit. Birth, death and flowers. I'm guessing that's why they call it 'Hearts and Flowers'. The staff are smiley and helpful also, which is a plus.

I recently used Blooming lovely florists in Great Barr to do a wreath for a funeral…read more I don't live in Great Barr but wanted them delivered on the day so I called them and arranged it all over the phone. The lady was very helpful and flowers got delivered well in time. When I arrived at the house of the bereaved and saw the flowers are was very impressed. They were lovely and I felt I got good value for money. From my experience I would definitely reccomend.
