We had amazing stay during our 5th wedding anniversary at this hotel…read more Upon arrival our room wasn't ready but we were greeted with champagne and appetizers and we could wait on the patio while enjoying our snacks. Once our room was ready we went upstairs and they took care of the luggage, it magically appeared upstairs. Very good service. We took premium room on the top floor. And it was best decision. Room had view of Lugano with large balcony. Room The rooms are very good. Nice big TV, lots of closet space and comfy big bed. Bathtub however was very difficult to take shower because water would flow to all sides and I didn't manage to figure out this curtain. Also get in and out can be very tricky. The view is everything! I highly recommend to take higher floor to see beautiful Lake Lugano and Lugano town. The only downside you cant enjoy balcony for too long since there are too many mosquitos. SPA While you stay at this hotel you can enjoy SPA room to yourself for whole 1 hour per day. We had such a blast since we love our privacy a lot. They have steam room, sauna, mineral shower, dipping pool and relaxing area with showers and locker rooms. It was such an amazing experience. Breakfast Amazing breakfast with variety of choices. They can make omelet or eggs your style addition to buffet selections. Fresh coffee or tea of your choice. For such a small hotel they offer much bigger breakfast options than we had in our big hotel in Milan. I was very happy with breakfast there. Restaurant Also they have restaurant on site Vali. With amazing chef & menu. Also we saw a lot of locals come to have a dinner here. It seems like very authentic place. Also since Campione it's a small town this restaurant definitely match our style and food preference. Everything was very delicious. Service People are very nice there. They help us with taxi reservation, luggage and all our dinner & spa reservations. We had very good getaway and romantic anniversary dinner. Also manager was very nice and made sure everything works well and guests are happy. This is definitely type of service you expect at 5 star hotel! We can't wait to visit this place again.

Go here. Seriously, this is the real deal. Not only is it priced right (breakfast included, and…read moreit's fabulous), the grounds are immaculate. Everything was in its place, polished, and dutifully attended by the staff under the watchful eye of Claudia and her sister. Our two days allowed us to slow down and adjust to a quieter time without speedboats, jet skis, or rowdy beach scene. Serene. Peaceful. Quality. Service was impeccable. Surprise bonus was an easy, leisurely 5 minute walk to town. So quaint. From our room, to the food, the staff, the owners, and location, Wow. Way up on my "Give 'em a whirl" meter. Stay here.

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Menaggio for a week over the summer and everything about our hotel stay…read morewas great. Our room looked out over lake Como and was spacious for the 3 of us. The hotel staff were all friendly. The morning breakfast had a great assortment of eggs, meats, breads, tarts, fruits, juices, cheeses, etc. We had dinner one night at the hotel and it was delicious. This was one of the nicer meals we had in Menaggio. The hotel pool was nice but pretty cold. Surprisingly we did not enjoy pool time as much as we'd like because we were in the city and exploring the other towns around Lake Como. There is a bar inside the hotel near the pool available for any lunch items or cocktails. This hotel is right next to the ferry stop which can take you across the lake to Bellagio and Varenna. That is a major plus if you have someone who cannot walk long distances - the ferry station is right by. There is also a small grocery store right across the corner of the hotel, which can come in handy. The walk into Menaggio Centre is more like a 10 minute stroll - where there are churches, stores, restaurants, etc. The hotel concierge organized rides for us to the airport, buses into other cities and taxis for us for some local activities we booked (Italian cooking dinner via Airbnb experiences). Overall, this hotel was beautiful and our stay was wonderful. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a great hotel in Menaggio.

English review (Io non parlo Italiano)…read more We stayed at La Perla for the first leg of our honeymoon - the staff are extremely friendly, the lake view is fantastic and the rooms were decent, comfortable and clean. The breakfast is the usual continental fare, but the view from the balcony makes up for the lack of options :) Warning: walking, lots of walking! The walk to Tremezzo proper is quite a challenge both uphill and downhill (especially back up!). The shuttle only runs a couple of times a day in the morning and in the evening, so walking is the only option most of the time if you want to have a drink, or if you don't have a car. It's about 15 minutes downhill and at least 20 minutes uphill. Food in the hotel is what is referred to as a "snack bar" in Italy and is very basic pasta/panini - nothing very inspiring here, so unless you are taking it very easy you will want to go down to the town to eat. There is a pizzeria a little closer (less than halfway) - Pizzeria Balognett - and the pizza there is excellent, the best I had on our trip to be honest. In Tremezzo the one restaurant that sticks out in my mind is La Darsenna, though the little wine bar (Cantina Follie) was also very pleasant for an after dinner drink on their terrace - the Amarone is worth the extra couple of euro per glass :) Overall, I would recommend La Perla if you are looking for some good views, peace and quiet, and don't mind the walking. Be sure and have a car to get to and from there as well as giving you the extra freedom for trips elsewhere. Also, be sure to pop up to Menaggio and rent a boat (under 40 HP = no license required) - it's expensive but really worth a go for a couple of hours to see the lake properly.

We opted for the included breakfast which was great, as you are dining right on the waters of Lake Como, it is breathtaking. Perfect hotel for a family holiday in sunny Ticino…read more My husband and I recently spent a lovely weekend in Locarno at the Hotel Belvedere with our baby and toddler. We booked the Junior Suite which can accommodate up to 4 adults and two children. The suite is very spacious with two bathrooms, ideal for a family. The hotel provided two baby beds and a diaper pail prior to our arrival. The huge balcony overlooks Lago Maggiore with the mountains in the backdrop, just amazing! Since The Belvedere is situated on the side of the mountain, the funicular nearby the hotel it super convenient and fun way to get down to the town, the lake and the train station (about 5 mins). It runs every 30 mins (more frequent in the summer). I do not recommend walking up (especially with a stroller) as the hilly streets are quite steep. The hotel offers a generous buffet breakfast to all guests! Add a gorgeous Veranda Restaurant with breathtaking views and you can ask for nothing more. The Oasis Spa had everything we were looking for. There's an indoor/outdoor heated swimming pool with a divider in the middle. There's also has a sauna, a laconium, a Turkish bath, and a very small fitness room. Another added bonus is babysitting service. You have to book in advance of course. We booked a sitter for 3.5 hrs on a Saturday evening so we can enjoy some private couple spa time and dinner. Overall, this hotel had just about everything we were looking for and needed. The Belvedere would be our first choice the next time we visit Locarno!
