Flight attendant was sweet when I made small talk with her and meant busines. she was courteous along with other cabin crew upon arrival of flight! The same staff that greets you out off the cabin also opens the door to let you into the small airport building. The small building was equipped with a vending machine, comfy waiting chairs overlooking where the air flight arrives and enjoyed the small restroom stalls equipped with necessary female personals for a quarter or what not. On a windy day it's difficult to stay indoors and look out for your ride because there are no windows facing the pick ups and drop off area so I stayed out doors where a small bench and table where located. Unfortunately, I must admit, I forgot my charger so I thought I would ask the front desk and of course no one is there. It makes sense since it is a small airport but you would think someone is guarding or out on watch just in case of an emergency. Eventually after some good time 15-30 min I see a young female staff and ask if If there is any way for me to borrow a charger. She gave me a very snotty matter of fact answer and acted as if was busy and heading to another room. She could of at least tried to be more friendly. My phone was dying and i needed to communicate with my ride about my pick up! I highly suggest she works on being more genuinely nice. Hopefully I don't run into her in the near future. And I do agree it was not her job to provide me a charger but we are all human and sometimes forget!! My future suggestion would be maybe they can make a permanent wall plug-in charger dock station (like in the cities). So people don't take those chargers that way if someone really needs to communicate before or after a flight there is no miscommunications especially since this airport is out in the goonies with no outside plug-in in site.

Just a quick update (Jan 2025) that the TSA is now holding the line on pre-departure cut-off times…read more The baggage check closes 45 minutes before departure. For example, if you have a 7am flight and you want to check a bag, you'll need to arrive well before 6:15am. The recommended time is 90 minutes before departure for checked baggage. The cut-off time for checking-in is 1 hour. If you miss those cut-off times, you can be denied boarding. The airlines that serve Del Norte have an online check-in. Just download your boarding pass to your phone. You'll still need your RealID or other acceptable ID such as passport. The officers of Del Norte TSA provide excellent service with courtesy and professionalism. This airport may be smaller than others, but the TSA team upholds the highest level of airline passenger safety.

After I got change the driver took me back to my destination. He never turned off the meter. So when it was time to pay, I paid the exact amount and said have a nice night. No way I was tipping!!! UPDATE: Someone from management attempted to contact me after I made a post about the incident on a social media site. I never responded to the contact attempt; instead I posted this response: "It's all cool. Nothing needs to be made right. I'm just not interested at this point. What happened, happened; and I had my say. I thank whomever may be trying to reach me. I've simple been disheartened by the whole affair and no longer want to deal with it. Again, I thank the management or whomever may be trying to reach me. I'll probably erase this post in a few min." So COASTAL CAB did attempt to make the situation right. I thought that was pretty cool. So I am editing my review and giving more stars.

This was an amazing experience, and my teenagers really enjoyed it (I think that says a lot ). If I was going to see the Redwood trees my own, I'd probably go to the first grove, take some pictures and leave, but Jim, our tour guide, took us on an amazing tour. First he told us about the history of Crescent City, where we got to see seals, pelicans, and elk in the wild! Then he took us to parts of the Redwood forest that I know for a fact that I would not have been willing to drive to or walk to. Jim stopped the van at various trees, explained the history, and helped take pictures of my family, which we don't normally get on our own. He then took us to Stout Grove for a walk and he continued to drive us around to more trees, even showing us some that were off the path that were breathtaking and unique. The lunch they provided was delicious. I cannot talk this up enough, sign up for this tour, it is so worth it!

He was beyond informative and knew so much history and just about the trees, plants and flowers in general. We had several people show us places to go for free but I am so glad we chose to do this tour instead. It was seriously worth every penny. There is no way we could have seen all the things that we saw today and gained all the knowledge that we did if we had chosen to just go sightseeing by ourselves.

We planned to hike in 4.5 miles with our kids and make it a real backpacking trip but we ended up parking at the 0.25 mile lot and hiking uphill to the camp site. There are eight camp sites that generally could fit one or two tents easily. Fire rings and picnic benches are at each site but there is no running water. We had to hike in water which is heavy. The camp sites require a free backcountry permit in advance. There are no charges to camp or park. Camp site #1 is pretty and large but has a pit compost toilet (enclosed, not too smelly). We loved camp site #2. It's large, closest to the bluff (you can hear the waves at night!) and quite flat. The rest of the sites are more tucked away and a little more private. The farthest site is less than a half mile from the parking lot. The one down side -- besides no water source -- is that there is a lot of stinging nettle in some of the sites and along the trails. And some pesky scrub jays. But they weren't too insistent as long as we kept our food in the bear locker. The bear lockers at each site are large (4' x3' x3'). There was a sign posted at the trailhead that said a black bear had been seen recently here. As far as we could tell, there aren't any site specific reservations. It appears to be first-come, first-served. We went on a Thur & Fri and only saw a few other people. It's a really quiet campground and the sites are separated by a lot of space and generally not visible from other sites.
