Was passing through Guelph, ON and I had heard about this place from locals. Their rates are okay…read moreif you are exchanging small amounts of cash. For large amounts of cash or cheque conversions, from the rates they quoted, it seems that RBC and TD rates are more competitive. With TD you get a better rate if you have a USD account (but you pay a dollar for the transaction, which is not much and worth it in my opinion). Overall, the service was pleasant. I would say go to Global Currency if you are in a hurry and are exchanging small amounts of cash. If you are doing large cheques or large amounts of cash, from the rate they quoted I would suggest sticking with your local RBC or TD bank.

Very rude service- avoid them at all costs. They are good at trying to convince you that they have…read morethe better rate. But what I found was that they cannot match my banks rate. I then quoted these rates to Global Currency and they couldn't match the rates. They said that I was bette This is what I learned from my bank: If you have a TD Waterhouse or TD Direct Investing account you automatically get a preferred US exchange rate. If you have TD US Account (free just keep $1,000 US in there, or pay a $1US per transaction) you also get a better rate then the cash rate. If you have a TD Borderless US account (free for accounts with $3,000 US plus, or a $4.94 US a month) you also get a preferred exchange rate. So, when I learned that I could get preferred rates by having a TD US account I opened one up with $200 US. Knowing that I'm getting a better rate then then cash rate, I don't mind paying $1US per transaction. Also it says me time because I can do the exchanges online (account to account), and I don't have to worry about negotiating rates, or finding the best rate- TD does it all for me.
