I really liked this cafe. It has a very cosy interior with comfortable seating. The building is an old cottage style house (I guess it must have been a listed building)with raw wooden floorboards and exposed beams. You immediately cannot help but start feeling at home. They display their menu outside which is very convenient and easy way to have a peak at what is being served. The waitress was very friendly and took my order immediately. I am a salad guy and I tried their Mediterranean Salad with Goats Cheese, Pesto and Pine nuts. It was delicious and plenty to serve as main lunch. They offer french bread with the salad (which I decided to skip). Their coffee is very good and falling short of superb. It is quite good hence it did not affect the 5-star rating I am leaving. There is one small downside - there is no free wi-fi. Come on guys, next time I visit I want to connect to the Net of Things for free :) I quite enjoyed my hour spent there. Outstanding little place. The scones and clotted cream are the best I've had in UK. All their dishes are well prepared and tasty, but their desserts stand out. Coffee and tea selection is quite good. The atmosphere, cozy and warm, and the beautiful exposed beams give it an old pub feel. I always make certain to come to this gem every time I'm in Essex, 3 years running. read more

I adore this coffee shop. Everytime I go into Maldon I visit it even if just to have a takeaway coffee. The surroundings are lovely and the coffee is varied and superb. Its not the cheapest place for lunch but you get what you pay for. Delicious sandwiches, panini's and salads. There are also different specials every day. My favourite is the ploughmans its the best Ive had. Kids love the freshly made milkshakes. In the summer you can sit outside in a lovely terrace. The staff are friendly and very efficient - they wont keep you waiting even though every lunchtime the place is packed out. If you are in Maldon in the summer I recommend their special evening eat as much as you like barbeques. read more

Love it in this cafe. The staff are great and the food delicious. It's in a lovely little quaint alleyway and in summer you can sit outside. The breakfast is brilliant (only took away the fifth star as I would like to see some potato cakes and black pudding on the menu) but apart from that, can't fault it! read more

Lovely place especially in summer as you can sit outside. Service is cracking but quite expensive!

Went here for lunch and me and a friend had lovely meals which were reasonably priced. The service was great and this is a nice and cosy coffee shop that also serves a good selection of food. read more
