I feel this community should know about the not so great experiences, as well. My kids and I have been going to CSS since 2016. I joined their payment club. This means I and they received dental check ups, cleanings, and x-rays at a regular pace for 10 years. I recently had to have a tooth extracted because it rotted in my head. I am now paying thousands and enduring multiple procedures to have an implant placed. When the surgeon looked at my tooth, he could not believe that I had had "regular" dental care. He said he could fix the damage but that he strongly recommended (demanded) that I find a different dentist. So I did. At the new dentist, it was revealed that two fillings of one of my children were failing and had decay under them. These teeth had just been seen by CSS a month prior - no mention was made of this failing. This means my child could have also lost two adult teeth to untreated decay. All while I paid for the monthly club. In addition to this, over the years I have received a faulty mouthguard that had to be replaced, a crown that does not fit in my mouth correctly, and been sent to an oral surgeon for a consult on wisdom teeth that were more than two years from erupting.

I just had to take a moment to sing the praises of this amazing dentist I found--Dr. H over at Bristol Park Dental in Williston. If you're not familiar, his office is conveniently located right next to Aspen Dental Williston , VT and super close to Hannaford's in Williston VT You can't miss the light gray building with that big awning out front. It is handicap accessible, with a side entrance for anyone who needs it. I've had quite a bit of dental work done by Dr. H, and let me tell you, he's done three successful root canals for me. I'm also getting treated for TMJ, and the great news is that he's in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont (BSBSVT) which means my HEALTH insurance covers a range of treatments-- appliances, panoramic images, and even Masseter Botox for that TMJ relief. Seriously, Dr. H is the one-stop-shop for all things dental! When it comes to services, he's got you covered with smile makeovers, full arch cases, cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, fillings, and even orthodontics like Invisalign and braces. Dr H made an appliance for me, and it fit like a glove--first time, every time. His state-of-the-art equipment is pretty mind-blowing! They show you a 3D image of your tooth, and the new ones he installs fit way better than your old ones--I promise you that. I've had around eight teeth worked on, and Dr H created several new crowns that match my original ones color perfectly. Dr. H's attention to detail during my root canals was top-notch. He is kind, humble and a truly great person. And let me just mention how awesome his staff is! His wife, Dr. C, is also a dentist, which adds to the warm and welcoming vibe of the office. If you're in Burlington, seriously consider making your way to see Dr. H--you won't regret it! I'm looking forward to enjoying my new crowns for many years to come. Having lived in Vermont for almost 23 years, I can tell you that we've needed quality dental care like this in our area for a while. Now a heads up to patients with hypermobility/Ehlers-Danlos, and to…read morepatients with depression/anxiety for whom having to manage doctors' emotions for them is a barrier to care. Dr. Pinto has multiple patients with EDS, and puts in the time and effort to adjust her care for the ways the disorder impacts tooth and gum health. Finding my nerves for filling replacement has always been a trial for dentists. As is common in EDS, I go through anesthesetic quickly and variably depending on anaesthetic type and dose. I've worked closely with Dr. Pinto to figure out how to get me numbed up effectively. I also want to give a shout-out to her straightforwardness in working with patients with severe anxiety and depression. It's really common to have to expend precious energy reassuring medical professionals who are uncomfortable with the idea of depression/anxiety. (This is a significant boundary to medical care for folks dealing with these issues.) Not so with Dr. Pinto. Upon learning about the depth of my partner's profound depression/anxiety, all she had to say was "you're on meds? You're working with professionals? Good. So about your teeth..." And that was it. No pity, no fear, no need to manage her emotions and expectations. Again, five stars, A+, best sustained dentistry experience of my life, recommended to everyone who will sit still long enough for me to tell them about her.
