I recently saw a negative review supposedly written from google review by a so-called doctor, who harshly criticized the shop for offering a low price for gold. It's shameful for someone with such a background to use his voice to curse a small business owner who is simply trying to earn a living. Is it really appropriate to make such hurtful statements? From my understanding of the jewelry market, buyback prices are typically lower than the market rate due to various costs. I simply asked about the buyback price for a ring and was offered around 20% of the original price, which is completely normal in the industry. Carol runs this shop by herself, and she deserves support, not disparagement. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there's even an adorable, chubby dog that made my visit even more pleasant. I went in to get an estimate to have some earrings made and the salesclerk must have gotten insulted when I asking if the designer was in to give me a quote. She said she was giving me the quote, which was overpriced because I saw what the gold baskets cost for the size of my stones in the book she looked up. When she wrote up the prices, I told her flat out it was way too much. I brought in pieces that I had made recently in NJ, with a lot of weight in the gold ring, pendant, and earrings. I told her what I paid for each piece which was at least 40% less than what she wanted to charge! She told me I should go back to NJ and have them made there. THEN she had the nerve to complain to another clerk behind the counter that she "practiced restrained patience" with me. WOW! Great customer service! She should have waited until I was out of earshot or left the store before she complained. She should consider retiring or not be front facing with customers, she is not good for business. Well, I'm the one that wasted my time and energy trying to give them my business. So now, she has a negative review that will remain on the internet for all to see. P.S. I have never left a negative review before for any type of business, but she definitely deserves this one.
