It was much larger than a Conad and very similar to an American market except their offerings are much more interesting. I was in love with the vast yogurt selection. Picked up some Pistacchio Yogurt for breakfast and it was delicious! They also had fresh fruit for decent prices and plenty of food souvenirs to take home. I found a box of Ferrero's Pocket Expresso that I've been searching for and some juices. Plenty of locals shop here as I didn't see too many tourists. Bonus: You can also buy bus tickets here!

The parking is free but limited to one hour. The store itself is actually a decent size with easily navigable aisles and familiar layout. The wine selection is good with several local wines of varying quality and price. They also have a nice variety of cheese as well. As with every store remember to bring your own bags to reduce waste.

I never figured it out so had to opt out on our apples. Everything was label in Italian as expected so it was a little difficult at times to figure out what's what for Americans. Bring your own bags or pay for their plastic or tote bags. It also cost a euro to use the large shopping carts.

But you really should head for this one - the big one (located in a mini-mall)! Everything you need is here. Meat (fresh, packed or frozen), cold meats, bread, pastry, cookies, olive oil, dairy products, pasta, all the non-food items, beer, wine, spirits and a great selection of fresh fish and seafood! It's like a Safeway / Walmart / Tesco...that kinda supermarket. A wee bit smaller of course. We shopped here on a daily basis during our time in San Vincenzo this year and the year before. Especially the seafood / fish selection is very nice....and so fresh! And you really can walk away with a huge load of seafood for under 20 Euro. The cold meat cuts and their cheese are great too ... and really low-priced, but high quality. Also great to stock up your alcohol! And if you need anyhting else to eat / cook or other items for you household, they probably got it too. It's also where the locals shop. Opened 7 days a week (sundays only in the morning), except for holidays like Christmas or Easter.

Everyone else was so helpful except for your brunette cashier friend. Some tips: bring a euro coin to unlock the carts. You get it back after return. Weigh and tag your produce or chubby cashier girl gets steamed. If it is such a problem why not put up a sign that it needs to be done? Montepulciano is frequented by many tourists. Very clean store. Not high end products but good quality. Bring bags.
