This is especially true for the lay down tanning beds. There is also a booth for a spray tan. It is done by machine not a person which is great for those who are shy about how much they want to strip down to infront of somebody that they do not know. It is located in your own personal room also which is great for added privacy. It is not a necessary to book for this. Staff here are lovely, great for those new to the experience so you know what you are doing!

The Tanning Shop is in the centre of Bath which means you have to pay for parking if you're just…read morepopping in but other than that there are no negatives. There are 6 stand up beds and 2 lie downs, it's adviseable to book at peak times like lunch or after work but you rarely have to wait more than 10 minutes for a bed. The staff are professional and friendly, and are well informed of all the latest offers. They also do spray tans which I've never had but have heard are well done and look good. The offers are sometimes very attractive with 3 for 2 deals etc, and deals including lotion and free minutes which makes your tan last longer. Very clean and hygenic, the staff always prepare each bed for the new user.

You stand on a marker and press a button and spray starts from your feet and works up. You have to hold your breath unless you want to inhale it, I cant imagine its that good for you! and then you turn around and it comes on again. Its quite noisy and makes you jump but the end result it great, very natural looking with no streaks.

I couldn't believe that it was entirely feasible to leave a shop essentially unmanned, and still to this day I'm not sure that vandalism doesn't present a major threat to these seemingly vulnerable tanning studio's. However, in term of cost effectiveness, the idea is pure genius! A friend of mine regularly uses the facilities and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else... she likes to pop in on a whim and spend a few minutes on the sun bed before getting in a few groceries, (she says it makes the prospect of going shopping a lot more attractive). It's funny, I have a few friends who use nail shops in much the same way... They pop in and have one nail done to break up a whole string of chores, and they reckon it lightens the load!
