Beware.... I had…read moreused Dr. MCWilliams for over a year ... loved him and his nurses. The problem lies in a non/error-disclosure of insurance benefits. Dr. Williams recommended an in depth blood test be done which I was told was covered by my insurance company. We were in agreement and I had the test done. Fast forward 7 months later ... I received (for the first time... today) a 120 day past due invoice with a patient due amount of almost $3k! This test cost $10,985.94 ... of which insurance paid $8,068.82 which leaves an outstanding patient balance of $2,917.12. If I was made aware of what the patient responsibility on this test would be... I would have passed! I've worked health benefits with patients before, this should have been discussed before any blood test were ordered due to the patient responsibility being so high. I promptly called the Stone Creek Family Medicine (SCFM) today and was told I had to call their billing service.... which I had already done, first. (This prompted the call to SCFM as could only leave a call back number for the billing service.) When I asked SCFM why this expected patient portion of nearly $3k was not disclosed to me prior to the test being ordered, her answer was ... they ran it through an automated system to check on coverage. At this point, I asked to speak to the office manager. She said the manager was not available, so asked when she would be available. She said she didn't know as the office manager worked "sporadic" hours...really! She would only take a call back number, highly frustrating. So, I guess I'll have to wait until she shows up to work her "sporadic" hours and hope my contact information is passed on. Such a shame as Dr. McWilliams was great... Debra

From the sweet lady at the front desk (Kristina) who made registration quick & easy, to thoughtful Nurse Rommel, who gifted us with a small teddy bear as a brave patient prize, to kind & gentle Dr. Bechtel, we were seen by quality practitioners who gave prompt attention, treating our situation with professionalism & empathy. Being an over-protective parent, we felt it better to be safe than sorry and came here after our toddler got too curious for her own good. The clinic is open 24/7, so we were thankful to arrive after 10pm with little wait. Dr. Bechtel was not dismissive about the situation but offered light humor, comfort, and reassurance. They kept our kiddo in observation with us just long enough to make sure she was okay and marked our visit as "urgent care" (versus an "emergency") to ease the financial burden. Don't want to repeat the situation any time soon, but this will be our absolute go-to if a medical emergency arises again. Highly recommend this place and appreciate the staff who took care of us that night.

I felt comfortable and at ease right away due to the amazing bedside manners. I want to thank Dr. Lorentz, JJ my RN, and paramedic Will for wonderful care. Dr. Lorentz was very thorough, caring and informative and JJ was made sure I was comfortable at all times. The facility is clean, bright, in a convenient location, and they take Medicare. Elyse and Lindsay who worked the front desk were polite and courteous. I also asked multiple times about the cost of the visit, and no one was able to provide a clear answer. At that point, I decided to leave, I'm not going to wait close to an hour for a practice that doesn't prioritize patient care or communication. To make matters worse, I am still waiting on my lab results. They confirmed the results were received on the 8th, yet I have not received any follow-up or evaluation. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, and I would recommend considering another provider. Previous Update: I previously left a review for New Wave Physicians Group and, unfortunately, I'm updating it again out of frustration. In my original review, I mentioned that my experiences with Dr. Carder and Dr. Troung were positive, they were both professional, attentive, and helpful during my visits. However, I also noted ongoing issues with the front office staff, and those problems have only gotten worse. It is extremely difficult to reach anyone by phone. Calls often go unanswered, and when someone does pick up, it feels like a rare occurrence. I've had to call repeatedly at different times of the day just to speak with someone, and on multiple occasions I've been placed on hold and then disconnected. More concerning is what happened after my most recent appointment with Dr. Carder. I went in for serious symptoms, had an EKG performed, and completed lab work. I specifically asked how I would receive my results and what the next steps would be regarding treatment or medication. I was told I would receive a phone call, but that never happened. After calling over 50 times, I finally reached someone who informed me that my results had been available for quite some time but had not even been reviewed. I also followed up on a sleep study that was discussed during my visit, only to find out it had not been submitted. The medications I was told would be prescribed were never sent to the pharmacy either. On top of all of this, I still don't have access to the patient portal. Despite multiple attempts to get assistance from the office staff, no one has been able to help me get it set up. These issues have been ongoing and are now affecting my ability to receive timely care. At this point, I feel like I've given this office more than enough chances and will likely be looking for a new provider.

I've been told more than once that i need to see the doctor for a refill, despite having literally just been in his office 30 days ago. We're talking about meds i've been on for 4 years. Birth Control. Blood Pressure. Cholesterol meds. And I very regularly have to fight the incompetent office staff about the fact it's NOT time for another visit yet. They're constantly trying to milk me like a cash cow. Right now i've been off my meds for 2 weeks, diligently trying to reach the Doctor. But no messages ever get to him. She was very kind and friendly…read more Before the appointment, I confirmed multiple times with my insurance company that the annual wellness visit would be covered 100% with no copay. However, after the visit, I received a bill for a copay. When I contacted the billing department, they told me that if any concerns are brought up during the annual checkup and the doctor documents notes about them, the visit is then considered a regular office visit, which requires a copay. I carefully recalled what happened that day. I simply answered the questions asked by the medical staff and had the doctor perform the routine annual exam. We had some casual conversation during the visit, but I did not request any additional evaluation beyond the standard checkup. I was surprised to be told that this automatically resulted in a copay. We have visited many other pediatricians for annual checkups in the past and have never encountered this situation. The billing department repeatedly insisted that this is their policy and that their practice is different from other pediatric offices. They said the office manager would call me back to explain further, but I have not received any call or follow-up. It does not seem like they are interested in resolving this issue. I hope this clinic takes this matter seriously. Families should be aware that even if their insurance covers annual wellness visits at 100%, if the staff determines that "any concern" was brought up, they may reclassify the visit as a regular office visit and require a copay.
