Horrible experience. WHAT WENT RIGHT: It's not too hard to greet and assist people when there's literally no one shopping at the store. I should have taken that as a red flag in the beginning. The sale went smoothly on 4/11. The store had no problem taking my money for the microwave, the delivery and installation costs. I wanted the extended warranty but couldn't afford it- due to the delivery & installation costs. WHAT WENT WRONG? Everything thereafter. The microwave was purchased on 4/11. Surprise! The microwave wasn't there. It's at a warehouse in South Dallas. That wasn't explained until RIGHT BEFORE I swiped my credit card. Of course, I get up-sold to a delivery charge. The microwave could not be delivered until 4/13. I was told between 4-7pm. It did not arrive until after 7pm. And the top of the box was "open". (I sincerely hope I have all my parts.) We had to drive to the store to get assistance with the installation setup. (When I called the installation number, I was told that the store never set up the installation request). I get a call in the morning of 4/14 to tell me there are no Conn's installers in my area. (MIND YOU I LIVE LESS THAN 10 MINUTES FROM THE STORE) so they need to get me a third party installer... that isn't available until Wednesday of the following week (4/19). I declined and said that I would get my money back on the install. Words can't describe the inconvenience, aggravation and hoops I have to jump through for a microwave. I don't see "CONN's the store", "CONN's the delivery/ warehouse", and "Conn's the installation company". As a paying customer, I shouldn't have to. I see "CONN's" ... AS A UNIT. I was paying for a result. I was NOT paying to be told that I need to address delivery issues with a different team, or deal with a different team for installation. If Conn's (the store) could take ALL my money (product, delivery, install), they needed to walk me through the entire process. This is not a self-entitlement issue. This is a customer service issue where the company failed to do right on their promises. This seems to be an on-going theme with most places (post COVID). Pretty much, if you purchase an appliance that needs to be delivered and installed, you have to deal with THREE different entities. As a customer, you think, "I need to talk to Conns about my delivery or installation." To Conns, their attitude is pretty much, "Thanks for the money! Thanks for this purchase! We're moving on to the next sale. As far as your delivery or installation, that's someone else. We're out of it." Customer service has completely fallen off, post-COVID. This is just where we're going as a society. As far as the fate of that company, it's just a matter of time before they close their doors. THE INSTALLERS: Finally, "someone" came out (4/17/23) and could not remove the old microwave. He went on to recommend I get a contractor that knows "cabinets" because "this is going to be a big job". At that point, I took off the rest of the day from work, changed my clothes and proceeded to do it myself. The microwave is held up by TWO screws. That's it. I got it down with not problem. My wife and I installed the new one. I don't buy a service. I buy a result. I could have done this myself but I was paying for convenience. These people failed miserably. Conn's will likely reply with a stand-offish/ non-sympathetic/ politically-correct statement. I'm not putting any value into it. This place is a joke! TIPS TO SUCCESS FOR YOU: 1) Ask them the "next steps" BEFORE you buy something. (Ex: Where is the product? Is it at the store or some place else?) 2) Ask them their policy on deliveries. Get something in writing. Personally, I say go pick it up yourself and avoid delivery. 3) Installation, either do it yourself or have a resource ready to go when you're ready. CONN's clearly does NOT have their act together... nor do they have "official" CONN's installers in Dallas. 4) Get a CLEAR understanding about the refund process. By that I mean... if you decide to get a refund on the installation piece (because you decided to do it yourself or go with someone else), GET THE REFUND PROCESS IN WRITING for the installation piece. Don't let them hand you a return policy brochure and send you on your way. Discuss it and have them point out specifics in the literature. They'll likely speak to the refund of the product, but when it comes to refunding delivery or installation, it becomes "Oh you need to call XYZ department. We sent that part of the money to them." I had to find out (after the fact) that I needed to talk to the installation folks to get a refund on that part. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered online a washer and a dryer however after it arrived and was set up in my laundry room I discovered that they were too short and I would have had to buy two additional pieces to lift them up to an appropriate height which would have cost an additional $600. I also didn't like the color, online they look dark grey but in person they are black which doesn't match my floors or grey wall color. I called to have them returned I was told I would need to pay a 15% restocking fee, oh great...ok whatever I paid and scheduled the pickup which was supposed to be for this past Sunday, they never showed up or called. I have been on the phone for two days with their customer service getting the run around, I am currently on hold, been on hold for over 30 minutes to find out when they are going to pick this chit up and when will I receive my credit!!! On October 4th, I received a phone call from Conns following up on a recent finance application I partially filled out. I explained to George someone stole my identity and it was not me. He said he would "delete the application" and remove me from the call list. FALSE. I have received numerous calls since then including today. Every person I've spoken with (Ben, David, etc.) has said the same thing... that they will tell the manager and remove me from the list and yet I still get phone calls. This business either has a breakdown in communication or has a total lack of regard for people's circumstances/requests. Conns... please stop calling and offering to send me a link for a finance application. You are a repercussion of identity theft. Let me start out by saying that Darrell the sales person was great. Very professional and not pushy like most salespersons. My issue is with the warehouse, delivery and customer service. My husband and I went in to get a second refrigerator for our house and ended up buying a recliner also. I wanted the recliner in "Basil" but was told that was out of stock so I agreed to the vino color. The day before our refrigerator and recliner were to be delivered we were notified that the warehouse couldn't find the recliner in their stock. They expected to have more in stock in about 3 weeks so we would have to wait (and pay another delivery charge). When we went into the store to resign paperwork I told our salesperson Darrell that I wanted the basil color like I originally wanted and that is what was ordered. When the delivery people came on the Saturday to deliver it, they brought out a "slate" color (which is not a color that conn's even offers. The delivery drivers tried to tell me that there was green in the chair. We refused the chair and after several phone calls they agreed to come out the next day with the correct chair. When a different set of delivery men came the next day once again they brought a slate color chair and proceeded to argue that there was green in the chair. At that time we just told them to leave the chair. My husband reported it to Conn's that once again we were brought the wrong color chair. It has been over 2 weeks now and despite numerous complaints and calls, we still do not have the "basil" green colored chair that I ordered and have been told by Conn's that this matter has been resolved. PLEASE RUNNNN AND NEVER LOOK BACK. YOU'LL REGRET IT!!!!! This has been the worst experience I've ever had with any company. On 7/10/2021: I went to a physical location to place my order and was told everything that I chose was in stock. I then received a delivery date of 7/18/2021 with the possibility of my items to be delivered on 7/17/2021. I was told I would receive two separate emails, phone calls, or text messages to 1. Confirm my delivery and 2. A follow up to provide the delivery time window. I received a confirmation email for delivery on 7/16/2021 but never the timeframe window so I decided to contact customer service and to my surprise was told that I was not even on the delivery schedule due to one of my items being out of stock. The representative further explained that since they don't like to do multiple trips and would rather deliver all your stuff at one time that I was removed from the delivery schedule until all my items were available. The worst part of this is that no one thought to contact me to even make me aware of what was going on. When I asked how could an item I requested be in stock one minute and then out of stock the next with no one knowing or being notified and in response was told that the warehouse and the stores don't communicate that information to each other and placed blame on the store...... I then asked how I can go about cancelling the out of stock items so that I can still receive my delivery at which time I was told I would need to speak with the store directly or go back in. I was then transferred to the Plano, TX store where I asked again, is there a reason why none of the events that have transpired regarding my delivery had not been communicated to me at which time the "Store Manager" expressed, they don't communicate that information to the store so there was no way for them to know and passing blame back to the warehouse....No one seems to be able to take accountability at this company. That is bad business. After cancelling my items I inquired when I could expect a new delivery date and time but was told that he wouldn't be able to provide an exact timeframe since on the weekend the delivery service is short staffed and he has to wait until he can get someone on the phone to reschedule the delivery, mind you I have another service to be completed on 7/19/2021 for an item that was ordered and supposed to be deliver on 7/17/2021. All he could tell me was that if I couldn't get on the delivery schedule before Monday of next week that they would reschedule my additional service that was supposed to take place that same day. So now we have a company that doesn't communicate with one another, doesn't really answer the phone on the weekends, and doesn't know how to communicate with their customers either.... I also requested to receive an updated contract with the updated monthly payment information and cash option price addendum. I was given a phone number to call and sent on my way just for me to call that number and be told that the only one that can provide me with an updated contract is the STORE!!! At this point I requested a conference call so that we all could receive the same message since accountability is non existent with this company and apparently so is providing complete and accurate information. As the conference call is connected the same "Store Manager" gets on the phone to tell me in a rude professional manner that as he told me before I would have to contact the account billing department and then throwing in the fact that they are only open Monday - Friday to which I reply "That would have been nice to know when you gave me their number earlier" only for him to tell me that he thought he explained that to me earlier.....umm if it was why the heck would we be in a conference call now.....clearly the information wasn't clearly presented. Purchased a computer for $1800, bought a $470 insurance policy for my PC. 2 years later, my unit started having a multitude of issues. This pc was used as a business use only pc, played a few games on it a few times. My fiance works from home and uses it to help me with my business as well. First time I brought the computer for service, I made sure that it was well know that I must have this service expedited due to the nature of the situation. Both my fiance and I used it daily. Now I gave them a list of all the issues associated with my repair request. A pretty large paragraph was taken down by the front desk service. 2 weeks later, I was told that my computer was at the store and I could go pick it up or call for details. I called the store, they said that its showing it as delivered, but they would like to check to make sure. After a 15min hold I was told that it wasn't there, and it might be at their main building in dallas. After a full day of not being able to locate the computer. I gave up. At this point my fiance ran out of all her sick time and paid time off. She had to at this point start getting points for unexcused absences. She had perfect attendance before this. 3rd week, 9 days past the time they told us they had the PC at their store. They find my pc after I showed up at the store, telling them I wont leave till I have my or a computer in hand. Store manager called someone in dallas, and a guy had it there in 30 min. I was not given and explanation of repairs. No one asked for my ID. All I had to do is sign a receipt... As I picked up my pc I felt a wobble, the stand was damaged. I took it home anyway because she had to be on the clock by 2pm and it was 12:30pm. I used it for a day. They only changed my harddrive reinstalled my windows. That's it. And broke it even more. With all the issues still standing. After a promiss from HR that it will be taken care of as quickly as possible or they will exchange my item. Nothing has been done. It's now been another week. And I still dont have my computer. And they still haven't started working on it. I've never missed a payment. I've spent well over 5k over ther already, with out still paying on more.... they do not care for their costumers. They do not care that she now has lost her JOB over this. They dont care that I am having a hard time with my business with out it. And they surely don't care for anything but their money, that I still have to pay even tho I dont have my item. They will blow your phone UP! There are no loners.. and nothing to help this from happening to anyone. You buy a car and make payments and insurance, it get serviced you get a loner or a rental.... The delivery guys will show up and not move existing furniture (that we previously bought from Conn's) to the garage or even just 5 feet over from the space it resides in currently, to make room for the new stuff. We received an ad from Conn's Furniture Plus last week. Because we've been having a problem with an ARCTIC BLAST on the Refrigerator side of our Refrigerator/Freezer, we decided to see what kind of deals they might have going on. I'M SO GLAD WE DID! When we walked into Conn's the first thing we noticed was how clean this place was. It looked as if they just opened (they hadn't). Almost immediately we were greeted by a young man, Alex Resendez, with a handshake and a smile. "I just want you guys to know I'm here to help and if there's nothing I can immediately help you with, please just let me know when and if you do." He said. I said we would let him know. He politely responded, "I'll just be right over there. Please let me know." I said okay and headed to the refrigerators. Once we decided on the right one for us, Alex worked quickly, answering all of our questions and making the deal we were excited about. This was a great experience. We were in and out in an hour. You don't expect your furniture to literally fall apart at the seams within 3 weeks of purchase! On June 10, 2017 we purchased this set as I've been looking for awhile for just the right color of sofa and love seat for our living room. Within hours after delivery we noticed several things not right about it. Protruding nails, crooked backs etc. and as the days went by something new would come up. 3 weeks later on July 5th I called Conn's to report the issues with our furniture and of the defects outlined below. Their first response was to send their inspector to inspect the sofa and love seat. After a thorough inspection his report confirmed it was indeed defective, even the frame of the set was defective according to him. Within three weeks our sofa looked hideous! Upon receiving the report, we were informed we had been approved only for store credit. So...we went back once again to shop once more for another set but after 2 hours we did not find anything we liked or that would match our furnishings. I told Dawn, the store manager at Conn's, Plano TX at this point, after spending over $2000 I didn't feel like we should have to settle on something we didn't like just because we bought from them. We bought our furniture in good faith. She agreed and said she was putting in for a refund and I should be receiving soon. I waited a few weeks and called Dawn on 8/12/17 to follow up on the status, at that time she stated it was submitted and that I would definitely be getting my refund check shortly. So I call corporate today, 8/21/17, and they inform me that there would be NO refund and we can only choose from their store. I then call Dawn who also said yes at this point that is all we can do. She was incorrect about being able to give a refund. All calls and conversations with both Conn's Corporate and locale store have been recorded and verifiable. Since our initial complaint there have been several more issues arise with this set. Below are the issues and pictures to show the defects in the sofa and loveseat. Protruding nails in several placed (which we had to nail down shortly after receiving) Necessary to use pillow on a few back pieces as you can feel the bar poking in your lower back (inspector said there was not enough stuffing) Back cushions are crooked (frame issues) A hole in the cheap frame behind an armrest Major stitching unraveling in many places I have more pictures but these are the most obvious by picture. I ordered a freezer from Conn's online in December. After several miscommunications, misinformation and missed delivery dates, they said it was on backorder. Now they've missed two more delivery dates because it's "not in stock" and pushed it out another month. They do not send any status updates and I've had to call them for any information, but they gladly took my money two months ago. Today I cancelled and purchased the exact model from Sears cheaper. KENNETH was our sales guy. He greeted us once we walked in, handed us his business card and said, "I'm here when you need me, I'll come back to check on you". He didn't stalk us in the store (like a previous experience we had in Lewisville ) . He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and had a great personality. We ended up picking us up a new 70 inch flatscreen Samsung and a wall mount. When we were getting approved for everything his desk had those awesome massage chairs close by so we sat in those while he had all the paperwork going. We had such a great experience. We have spent alot of money and made many purchases at this store, only to now be frustrated and upset to no end. Not only does management not care, they lack empathy or any sore of remorse. We have paid for our new couch and loveseat 2 weeks ago, only to wait and wait longer. First we were told next day, then it was saturday, then it was wednesday and now ist not until the 21st. Last year I made three purchases at Conns and had all financed through them. The first was the largest and based on the purchase it afforded a few insurance coverages including unemployment insurance. When I went back, the sales person from the first sale was off. I was going to wait till he returned to make the second purchase but was talked into letting someone else help me. I made the purchase and the same terms with the same coverages were supposed to be done on that contract. I learned the documents weren't in order with their insurance department so went into the store and spoke to the sales person. He said it would be corrected and it never was. Now that I am out of work and need to trigger the insurance they've told me it my tough luck. This company will sell their mother to make a sale. Beware. (Store manager) said I would have a $35 restocking fee. We explained to him that nowhere on the receipt is there anything that stated there is a restock fee. He said "sorry,it's company policy". DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM THIS PLACE! The staff at the store were great. Extremely friendly, conversational, gave you space to make your decision without feeling crowded. The problem came with the delivery of the furniture it self. The couch arrived with tears in the upholstery, pictures were sent to their corporate office same day, also attached to this review, and they immediately started quoting corporate terms and condition nonsense which was not mentioned at the time of purchase NOR at the time of delivery stating that Conn's policy states that when you sign for the delivery you're stating that the delivery was made and that you fully inspected the delivery and all was great. This was not explained at the time of delivery. Delivery was made, I signed, I rushed out the door for another appointment. Got home a few hours later, gave the furniture a good look over and noticed the scratches and rips. There are far too many furniture outlets in the Dallas area to allow yourself to be taken advantage of. After their poorly constructed furniture broke within six months, I filed a warranty claim only to be told the damage was not covered. Absolute worst customer service and company etiquette I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I've had 2 delivery dates BOTH changed without ANY notification. Yes eh called and chatted customer care for 4 days no less than 10 times. Sat on hold for 45 minutes ... today I had a delivery scheduled for 12-3 after 3 I chatted and called - was told that they have rescheduled my order for Monday now again without my knowledge. I am now in a home with 3 children and no refrigerator all because a company does not care about their customers. After finding out that there would be no delivery today, I tried to cancel my order. BUYER BEWARE: They're getting 2 stars because they were pleasant (although I can't decide if that was "pleasant" or "I don't really give a sh*t") and the one person was new. I purchased here years ago and although I do remember it seemed like a ridiculous amount of paperwork for one item and a cash transaction, I don't remember having any other issues. But that was not the case today. I picked out my item online, checked stock, went to the store. Was immediately approached at the door. I despise this method of sales. I found the item I wanted and began the transaction. Although I had a confirmation email regarding a credit approval, they attempted to go through the whole thing again. An hour later after asking for my phone number no less than 5x, my SS# with others around and to see my license multiple times (write it down? take a picture?) I reviewed the invoice. They overcharged me above the advertised price. I watched the salesman scan the bar code. However, the price on the item did not match the barcode. Nice bait and switch. Then they wanted almost $200 for "insurance". When I inquired I got a very nonchalant answer about "policy". Basically they want to charge insurance for a new item that I'm buying "in case something happens to it before you pay it off". Uh no. This company is what their name is....a CON. Their customer service department on the phone is a complete joke. I've been calling almost every single day for a month and am told different everytime. I have heard more than I should, "I'm sorry but you've been told incorrect information. I've got reps telling me that even what the managers have told me is incorrect. It seems like they are telling me what I want to hear to get me off the phone but when I call to verify, either they never received the information or my request was wasn't what it was supposed to be. I came here to finance some appliances for our new home, because their site advertised 36-month financing. I went in and the salesperson confirmed the 36-month offer. I found the appliances I needed, consulted my husband about the purchase, and told the salesperson I wanted to go ahead with the sale. It wasn't until after I gave him my personal info, and he checked my credit that he told me the 36-mo. financing wasn't available after all, only 24. I asked if there was any way he could give me the 36 months, since it was what was advertised and what he promised. He said no, only Alabama gets that perk (why didn't he know this when I asked him about it before?). I realize now: I should have just walked away from the sale, but we were without a fridge and getting desperate, so I didn't. In addition, the salesman related an offensive, sexist joke. When I didn't laugh, he assumed I didn't get it and told it repeatedly, finally giving up when I refused to laugh. Again, I should have just walked away. Maybe nothing illegal happened here, but the more I reflect on how the entire exchange, the more I feel scammed and taken advantage of. And does it really need to be said that insulting your customer to her face is a bad way to get repeat business? I will never shop from Conn's again and will persuade everyone I know to steer clear as well. read more

We have bought quite a few items over the years. We have their financing but always pay off before before we accrue any interest. Also, bought a TV in Texas and took it to my Dad in Kansas. He had some issues with his tv and he had no problem getting it serviced there under warranty even tho they don't have Conn's in Kansas. The price I got on my items were right in line with other retailers. Buying a laptop there on Monday. read more

These people never answer there phone nor does the delivery team know what they are doing they broke my dryer by not doing things right hope they didn't hurt my breaker because they through water all over my wash room blowing the dryer out now my new dryer don't work. We had a great experience with Conn's! Our dishwasher sprung a leak 2 days before having 42 people over for Thanksgiving. Conn's was the only store able to sell us a dishwasher and get it installed in time. We were scheduled for the end of the day on Wednesday, and ran into a problem. Our dishwasher water supply needed to be a foot longer than normal, and they don't typically carry those. They couldn't stay - they still had 2 deliveries to go! But instead of abandoning us, they came back this morning - THANKSGIVING DAY, at 7 am. We are now ready for all of our company, thanks to Cornelius' dedication and kindness.
