We were stuck in limbo with our wedding planning, tossing ideas around but not really committing to anything. We had an idea of what we wanted, but no concept of how to make that idea into a reality. Any planning efforts we made left us feeling overwhelmed at amount of work and organization required to put together our wedding. We just didn't feel like we had the time and energy we needed to plan on our own on top of working and living our busy lives... Enter Joelle! We were totally blown away after our very first consultation meeting by how organized and professional she was, not to mention how bubbly and upbeat. She's been planning weddings for over 4 years, and has a thorough understanding of the wedding industry, and great connections and knowledge of local vendors and venues. It was a no-brainer to work with her and have her co-ordinate our wedding. We were lucky enough to have Joelle fully co-ordinate our wedding. Once we started working with her, it was like an immense weight was lifted from our shoulders. She had organized spreadsheets and timelines for every aspect of our wedding, and would regularly keep in touch with us via email about what was going on and what we needed to do. We were planning a destination wedding in the Rockies, but we liked working with a planner based in Edmonton where we lived. We were able to meet regularly in person, which really put our minds at ease because we knew we were on the same page and that Joelle had everything under control! In the last couple of weeks leading up to the wedding, Joelle had to remind us to breathe, sit back, relax, and trust that she was handling everything. Boy was she right! We were actually able to relax and spend time together during the last couple days before our wedding. When we arrived at our wedding destination, we got to enjoy greeting family and friends as they arrived, and had a lovely relaxing rehearsal dinner with close family. Both of us slept well the night before the wedding because we knew Joelle had everything covered and we didn't have anything to worry about except being present, living in the moment and enjoying marrying each other and the experience of our wedding day. Seeing Joelle on the day of our wedding was a sight to behold. She was totally in her element, and we could tell she thrives off of making sure everything stays on track and goes according to plan. She was super attentive to everything we needed during our day. Need a water break, bathroom break, your dress bustled, a makeup touch-up, or a mimosa? Joelle was always there to lend a helping hand and make sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the experience of getting married. Even little things like making sure nobody paddled off in our rental canoe, or shooing away wayward tourists who wandered into our wedding venue were handled with grace and professionalism. She wrangled our friends and family for all the family photos that we wanted, so that we had more time for couples' photos with our photographer. Our family and friends got along with her and thought she was great! Since our wedding, our families have told us they understand why we decided to get a wedding planner, and how wonderful and helpful Joelle was on our wedding day. As far as wedding planning goes, we would say that the whole process was about as painless as it could possibly be, and Joelle is the one responsible for that! One of the things we appreciated most was that Joelle really took the time to get to know us as a couple, and got an understanding of what our vision was for our wedding. Nothing ever seemed impossible or too much to ask from Joelle. She was always accommodating to our schedules, mediated our indecisiveness, took us outside the box, and folded our napkins more times than anyone could bare just to make them PERFECT. She was there to look over every detail and make our wedding day stress free. The hall coordinator (Kathy) showed up…read morethe day before the event to drop off liquor and came out and accused the bridal party and people setting up of stealing her purse and phone off the seat of her unlocked car. Everyone offered to help her find it including helping her trace her steps and track her phone but she wanted no part of it, swearing and cursing the whole time. All the guests were bombarded with accusations and were greeted with posters saying as much when they arrived at the venue. She even went so far as to threaten to cancel the event and keep the deposits. I understand her frustration but to put that kind of stress on the Bride & Groom the day before the wedding was uncalled for and unprofessional.

I worked with Jolyn of Wander Love Destination Weddings for just under two years leading up to our…read moreApril 2015 wedding in the Dominican Republic. My lasting impression is that I should have just handled the arrangements myself. We were given great service in the beginning - Jolyn is very knowledgeable on the various resorts and gave us great confidence booking with her. We were promised a great rate for booking early and in a group, a free wedding website, monthly newsletters for our guests leading up to the big event and a package for all guests before departing that would include customized tickets, baggage tags and travel information. Our rate did not turn out to be very competitive - only about half of my guests actually booked via our agent because of this. The website was great but never updated unless specifically requested. Our guests received one newsletter. The majority of our guests did not receive their package before departing as it was mailed too late (4 days before departure) and it turned out to just be a printed version of the e-ticket, no special extras as promised. Many guests complained Jolyn did not return calls or emails. She only has voicemail available during business hours. One guest was told months after providing his initial information that she would not be able to book his travel after all since he lived in the United States. One guest was charged under a different wedding (Jolyn did have this corrected before he noticed). Other guests provided updated passport information or requested insurance quotes and just did not get a response. I personally found that over time it seemed Jolyn's interest and service level dropped dramatically. Instead of a response within a day or so I'd have to send two or three follow up messages. My guests were getting similar treatment so they would then come to me for information and updates which was the entire reason I went with a destination wedding travel specialist to begin with. I found no benefit what so ever to working with Wander Love Destination Weddings but it did hamper my over all wedding planning experience to be sure.

I told her multiple times that price was near the top of the list for prioritys but when we finally came to the quote her prices were grossly increase, when I mention this to her she told me I can go somewhere else (great customer service). My advice stay away from this company from amount you save you can add an extra touch to your wedding travels.
