Her technique hurt me more than it did help me and it certainly wasn't deep tissue. I hurt more after I went to her than before I walked through her door. 2. Since I had been a customer there previously, I expected to pay more, but I certainly wasn't expecting what came next. I received a text message informing me that my one-time massage would cost $180. I was then told I could receive the $89.99 rate if I signed up for a 12-month membership. I informed the business that I was not interested in a membership. They then offered a shorter 3-month membership for $109 per month. At that point, I canceled my appointment. The enormous gap between the advertised price and the price I was actually quoted created a deceptive and misleading customer experience. For a company built around wellness, relaxation, and self-care, the pricing experience felt surprisingly stressful. Customers should know what they're likely to pay before investing time in scheduling an appointment. Because I felt the pricing practices were misleading, I submitted a complaint to the FTC for review.
