My story is simple. I purchased the best Starkey hearing aid from another provider. I wasn't very satisfied with the service, so I contacted Clarity Hearing. I wanted to get a new hearing test and my hearing aid programmed accordingly. I was charged $260 for (one hearing aid) this service which took about one hour. My other ear has an implant and I don't need one for that ear. I thought this was a little expensive, but understand they were not making any money that they would had I bought from them originally. After a week, I realized that my hearing was not as good as my three year old Phonak. I just called them, explained the issue, and was promptly told it would cost me another $130 to fix what should have been done originally. This is a TOTAL RIPOFF. They are MANY PROFESSIONAL HEARING SPECIALISTS IN THIS AREA. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Go somewhere else. REPLY TO CLARITY. For the reader, you need to read their reply. You are correct that professionals bill for their time. But, lawyers, doctors, cannot ethically bill you for the same service. I paid you to program the best hearing aid that Starkey produces. That model is their EDGE AI 24. You did program it, but I cannot hear as well as I did with my older Phonak. What does that mean? Either you did not properly program it or Phonak makes a better product. Tell me which is the answer.

Be sure to make sure BEFORE YOU BUY the aids that they pair with your phone which you can only do by looking on Oticon website (again I was not warned of this) and I discovered that I had over upgraded my phone and went through a lot of time and misery redowngrading. In any case pairing is hit or miss depending on the day. I was fortunate enough to have great insurance to cover otherwise this would have been very very frustrating.

There has even been a 60 minutes exposing the greed of many audiologist and hearing aide companies. Yesterday my husband drove a hour to get his hearing aid fixed. Even though it was under the year warranty and no surprise, they provide zero paperwork, they still charged him $1000 to have it fixed! Michelle was HORRIBLE with absolutely ZERO customer service. He had his other hearing aid fixed about a month before, and that was $450. He called beforehand letting them know he was coming and what for. They could have at least saved him a trip and told him it was going to be $1000. Do not go here. I came to evaluate my child for snoring and Dr Liu claimed that…read morethey were the largest most inflamed tonsils (grade 4) he's seen and that we would absolutely need surgery to remove the tonsils and adenoids (despite my son having no symptoms) - he then immediately left the room and did not answer any follow up questions. His nurse then proceeded to rush me into signing up for the surgery and scare me with random facts. I later went to a second opinion at texas children's hospital where they said that he did not even have grade 2 tonsils - and they xrayed his adenoids and found no enlargement. I believe Dr Liu and staff are con artists. The hospital confirmed we are not the first to experience this. I hope no parents let this man fool them into unnecessary procedures for their children.
