In any case, it's a great Reform temple with wise and loving clergy and teachers, and the religious school is excellent. Years of membership have advised my opinion.

I was on the phone with my sick wife when I was confronted by a crazed security guard. He was extremely rude and threatening. You would think being in a temple and on religious grounds that you would have the highest respect. I asked to see Rabbi Lisa. She was a great disappointment. She calls herself a Rabbi but she acted like a immature woman. No serious apology. Be aware of this institution that calls themselves a temple. Many other schools to join. I did speak to the director Abigail G. Spiegel. Very nice director that did apologize. Still no excuse for the negative experience I relieved. The Director should train her Rabbi's and security better. This isn't a temple just a building with selfish agenda.

It is very play based and fun for the children. They do a lot of sensory activities and also learn about Jesus. My son loves to come home and practice his Bible verse or sing the new songs they are learning. My son has autism and the school has been so wonderful and accommodating. They allow his behavioral therapist to attend with him and are always super supportive to his needs. After touring many school, we found this school to be extremely reasonably priced compared to other Christian schools in the area. They have many schedule options available as well I can't say enough good things about this school.

There is a strong variety of activities within a daily routine, lots of consistency with the care, and ongoing communication between the teachers and children. Our son comes home with daily "academic" work, art pieces, potty training and other social-emotional lessons, and lots of fun songs! This daycare was almost half the cost of what we paid while living in Long Beach, but we don't feel like we've lost any quality of care with our toddler. I would definitely pay more to support these teachers and keep their festive activities, play spaces, and art supplies going.

My how things can change in a year…read more This place began declining in the past 6/7 months when our daughter's teacher at the time started complaining regularly about her behavior, i.e. her inability to sit still and being defiant (well imagine that in a 2 1/2 year old!) - but was offering no solutions. We guided her by explaining what we did at home, and she in turn began placing our daughter in time outs "all day long" which can't be uplifting nor constructive at all for a child. She clearly had no experience working with a challenging personality and seemed lost, and didn't really care. I got the sense that she would've been happy if we had taken our daughter out of the program, because she certainly wasn't forthcoming with any ideas on how to address our daughter's perceived "issues". We were very close to removing our daughter from the school, but then we met the 3 year old teacher and we loved her immediately. She was pleasant, knowledgable and passionate about our child being successful. She told us that she was reading books on how to work with "spirited" children so that she would be well equipped to work with our daughter when she entered her class. We were relieved and thankful. We didn't want to uproot our daughter and change her whole routine. When our daughter entered her class in September last year, there was an immediate and marked difference in her behavior and skill development. She was more cheerful about going to school. Her tracing and "drawing" abilities blossomed. When we picked her up in the afternoons, the teacher would give us an update on the day and it wasn't Negative Nelly every single time. Of course if something did go wrong, she would tells us, but she always did it in a loving, solution-oriented way - not like she was reading down a laundry list of issues and offering no insight on improvement. Her personality, child development knowledge and willingness to collaborate with us on our daughter's progress was VASTLY better than the experience with the previous teacher. And the owner of the preschool fired her last Monday, just like that. No warning whatsoever to the parents. The owner (who may as well be the Wizard of Oz because she was never, ever seen at the school except to collect checks that she cashed when she felt like it) showed up in her classroom while she was away taking lunch, solicited the help of another teacher to pack her belongings, and gave her an ultimatum to quit when she returned from lunch. And then she called the police. To a preschool. On a preschool teacher. My husband called the school the next morning to get answers on what happened, and was flat out lied to by the teacher who served as accomplice to the sabotage. She said that our daughter's teacher had quit by her own free will, and that the owner would be issuing a statement about it. He asked her why the police were called if she willingly quit. No answer. My heart is broken for the teacher. My heart is broken for my daughter and her former classmates, too, who did not get to say a proper goodbye to the person who had been their daily caregiver for the past several months (years). This decision was undoubtedly made based on a selfish and vindictive agenda, not a smart business choice, or even a human choice. What kind of person does this to a group of 3 year olds? Transitions are so hard for children, and a buffer of some sort for a change this big needs to be there to ease the blow. We withdrew our daughter the same day and have since enrolled her elsewhere. Our child will not be attending a school where the police are summoned. I recommend you don't send yours there either.
