When my father died unexpectedly in April, she spent hours with me and my family to meet with us, prepare the most beautiful service, and officiate over a funeral that was worthy of his blessed memory. Everyone who attended said that it was the most wonderful funeral service they had ever been to. My son attended the wonderful religious school at Mekor Shalom and recently worked with Hazzan to prepare for his Bar Mitzvah. She is the most patient and wonderful Bar/Bat Mitzvah guide, both for us as parents and for my son. She knew exactly what we/he needed, was amazingly patient, but applied just the right amount of "kind" motivation when necessary - she works with kids where they are in terms of their level of Hebrew ability, without the pressure you find in most congregations. Not only is she a magnificent cantor and spiritual leader of the synagogue, but she has become an integral part of our family. Check out Mekor Shalom, you won't be disappointed.

The new Rabbi in 2021, Rabbi Jenn Mangold, is an absolute delight. She's excited, eager and knowledgeable. The music is beautiful and approachable being lead by Cantorial soloist Barbara Mazer and Joyce Liu. I've been a member of half dozen Jewish synagogues across the country, large and small, and this is the one I want to call home. A few had one foot the grave and were waiting for the last person to lock the door. A few were so cliquish that we never felt welcome even after years. It seems that Temple Beth El is thoughtful, warm and open to those that want to be part of Jewish experience no mater where they started, lived or current status. Due to COVID-19 and concern for the community, the services have been remote. Even after COVID-19, Beth-El will continue to provide live shared video of services to the community if you can't make it (it happens!). My wife and I are looking forward to once again joining everyone at Temple Beth-El for holidays, Sabbath, and social events.

She and her twin sister were both generous donors. Unfortunately the plaque they put up misidentifies one of their gifts. No one seemed interested in getting it corrected. They have a large art show annually that's a big fundraiser. They once had a very nice cantor. Need to do a much better job on outreach and community support and involvement and focus less on fundraising and being insular. That's my 2 cents. Be Loving.

We were lucky to park at the temple but I think others had to park further away. We arrived 45 minutes before the end so our choices were limited but I'm not complaining. So with a thankful heart and spirit, I attended on line the entire service. I took notes to review afterwards. Rabbi Mike Stepakoff, talked on "Put G-D on HIS Throne," with scriptures John 15:16,18-19, John 16:33 and 1 Samuel 16:12-13, plus other scriptures that concluded with John 1:45 , "It all points to HIM-YESHUA . I have been praying for a place to worship and fellowship, so I am praying that Adonai will make it possible for me to attend even though I live in Spring Hill, Fl. I am getting cataract surgery this coming Tuesday, 14 Jan 25, with the second eye done a week later. I am praying this will make it possible to worship in person, until then I will be on line for your services.
