I went regular services and met the people there. Although it is a smaller congregation compared to the more I grew up in, it had a really good feel to it. The word in Yiddish is "hamish" I believe. My son attended the wonderful religious school at Mekor Shalom and recently worked with Hazzan to prepare for his Bar Mitzvah. She is the most patient and wonderful Bar/Bat Mitzvah guide, both for us as parents and for my son. She knew exactly what we/he needed, was amazingly patient, but applied just the right amount of "kind" motivation when necessary - she works with kids where they are in terms of their level of Hebrew ability, without the pressure you find in most congregations. Not only is she a magnificent cantor and spiritual leader of the synagogue, but she has become an integral part of our family. Check out Mekor Shalom, you won't be disappointed.

I felt such a Connection to Hashem. I've been alone in my home for 8 months worth of Shabbes-es (due to COVID-19) and it was deeply moving to be with a Congregation. Technically, it's a Conservative shul, so they called me up for an Aliyah to the Torah, too! I haven't done that in 10 years. Beth Tefillah is a small and senior Congregation, trying to keep the Light alive in southwest Florida and they are succeeding. That reminds me. They have the largest party hall in the county.
