Hands down, my favorite place in Austin! Def come here - fabulous service and food!…read more Every meal is made to order. Even so, our wait was not long. Let's start with the salad: simple, GREEN (not iceberg lettuce!), a few red onion slices, a few olives, a few grape tomatoes, and a light amount of the house dressing. The tomato soup is as good as people say. I am very picky about tomato soup. Theirs was delish. Flavorful. The bowl was big; two of us shared it. Chicken piccata for dinner. The chicken was perfectly cooked! The sauce was flavorful. The pasta was also perfectly cooked. Large portion. Left overs. Our waitress was fantastic - helpful, fun, funny. We arrive a little on the late side and she was welcoming and said come in in! If you find yourself in Austin, come here.

When I got there, I asked if I could please use the restroom. She informed me that there restroom was not public. I asked again if I could please use it because I was pregnant and drove a long way, and I really could not finish my shopping because I had to pee so badly. She still wouldn't let me. I ended up leaving with only 2 packages of bacon and 2 canned items, when it was my intention to purchase much more than that. It was an embarrassing experience for myself, and I also feel the owner of this establishment should be embarrassed. I understand the policy of not having a public restroom, but please have a bit of human compassion and make an exception for an emergency. You lost a big sale today.

Like many others we were just passing through and I came across this Ice Cream Shoppe. Being in…read morethe car for about 2 hours - it's time to get out and stretch and get some good ice cream. So many flavors to choose from, there's a ton here, and I asked some of the locals and they all have their favorites. The great thing is they will let you sample whatever your heart desires. So I tried almost all of the scooped ice cream, and then they had ice cream from the machine. Well in the end my dad wanted a strawberry milkshake, she wanted Butter Pecan - which they did not have - so we got her some Caramel Fudge thing and it was really good. Meanwhile I got 3 small scoops of ice cream - all different flavors. But the winner was the Strawberry Milkshake! Wow - I took a sip of my dad's and was like darn I should have gotten that instead of my 3 scoops. So why the hell not? I'm on vacay and won't be back here for a long time, in fact they are closing soon for the season, so I got myself a small strawberry milkshake - and it was awesome! Probably the best damn strawberry milkshake I've ever had! I mean - the last one I recall having was McDonald's I think, and this beats the heck out of that. Awesome ice cream and awesome friendly high energy peppy service here by all the girls who work here very well as a team. It's like a cheer squad in action - they yell out orders and directions and the person goes executes and brings your order. I'd be here every week in the spring and summer if I was around! Really reasonable prices too!

Delicious. Delightful. BEER…read more It's about a half hour from Clear Lake (our starting location) to Northwood, Iowa--location of Worth Brewing Company. Let me tell you, it is well WORTH the trip! First, the brewery is freaking gorgeous. There are beautiful wood floors and a cool, old wood ceiling. There's a big English/Irish-style bar, which makes sense because their beer has a lot of UK/Irish influence. There is also plenty of seating. The tall, bearded man behind the counter let me decide between the two IPAs on tap. Both were delicious, but I went with the double. "The higher alcohol content usually sways people to the double," he joked. There was a great variety of beers on tap. They had several different styles to cater to all tastes. All were listed on a chalkboard up on the wall, and it seems like they keep their beer list up-to-date on their website as well. Someone took great care in setting up this brewery. The beers are actually kept at the correct temperature for their style, not just "cold." It was most impressive. The beers were top-notch. I'd definitely recommend a nice, little drive over to Worth Brewing.
