Comfort Expert is one of the few companies which has made a lasting impression on us, at every step of the way, from the time we placed our service call to getting a feedback on the expected time arrival, to the actual service call. Our heating is by hot water via an electrical boiler, which started to act at the worst possible time of the year, where the outside temperature is at its lowest. Scheduling a service call could not have been easier as the information requested was precise and detailed enough that they can pinpoint the possible cause. We were impressed with Yoel's professionalism and courtesy by removing his overshoe before entering the house. His expertise and level of due diligence is well above our expectations. He spent time checking each radiator while explaining the process in detail. About a week later, another unrelated issue popped up, caused by the thermostat, a critical time where most staff are off on a public holiday. Fortunately, a new service technician, Stephan, was despatched within the hour. Similarly, we got the same level of attention, care and expertise that solved our problem. Comme je n''avais pas. d'eau chaude depuis une semaine, ma demandé devait être traitée en urgence. Déjà à la prise de rendez-vous, la personne ne parlait pas bien français et j'ai dû lui répéter au moins 6 fois la direction de ma rue (ouest) et elle me répétait sans cesse Est. Elle a fini par prendre la bonne adresse. Quand j'ai reçu le mail de confirmation, l'adresse n'était pas la bonne (EST au lieu de OUEST) J'ai envoyé la correction et on m'a envoyé un nouveau courriel avec la bonne adresse. Mais l'heure a été changée, ce que je n'ai pas remarqué. Le matin de l'installation, on m'a appelée 30 minutes avant que le technicien n'arrive. Mais comme ce n'était pas dans les heures, je n'avais pas mon téléphone à portée de main. Quand j'ai pris mon message, on me disait que je devais reprendre un autre rendez-vous pour un autre jour. J'ai rappelé en demandant pourquoi l'heure avait changé. On m'a répondu que c'était parce que je changeais de région... Entre la rue EST et OUEST, il n'y a qu'un parc d'enfants qui les sépare. J'ai demandé a ce qu'on me transfère au patron. La personne m'a dit que je devais m'adresser à Hydro Solution. Même si ce n'était pas leur erreur. J'ai raccroché et j'ai rappeler Confort Expert pour faire une plainte. J'ai eu la chance de tomber sur une perle, Nathalie Roy, qui a pris le temps de m'écouter et qui m'a aidée. Extremely disappointed by the service of this company. I bought my water boiler 9 years ago with Hydro Solutions. I called them as soon as my boiler stop working and they referred to their service provider in Montreal, Confort Expert. When I called them, they told me they would call me back to give me an appointment. I called them a second time, 24 hours later, and they told me they would call me back. I called them back a third time and they tell me I need to pay them upfront $250 CAD before even giving me a date and time for an appointment without any explanation. I told the person in the phone that I would understand if they needed a deposit, but without knowing if the appointment would be 24 hours, 1 week, 2 weeks later it did not make any sense to pay them for the entire service. They still wanted a deposit. This alla happened during the Holidays. I guess it was their way to help me end my year in a very upsetting way. I recommend to stay away from this company. read more

I bought a split, wall mounted heat pump from this company a month ago. Here were my issues: Financing; their rep offered us 12 months to pay at zero interest so we accepted. We could have easily paid in full at the time of installation. We have a great credit rating so we were appoved right away. This issue is that they started taking the payments before the unit was even installed!!! Installation: this is the 2nd heat pump we've installed in our apartments. The other heat pump was installed by another supplier and the job was perfectly done but he was unavailable now so we selected Confort Expert. The installation was horribly done. They used poor quality materials for the water evauation pipe and installed the outdoor electrical wire without putting inside the grey pipe that it's supposed to be in according to building standards. I asked the installer several times to change the process and they simply answered no, that's their way of doing things. Ver poor installation quality but the heat pump is of good qaulity. Pick another vender if you want a quality installation. I'm surprised that Fujitsu accepts them as a certified vendor. read more

I orig had a contract with Sears that Confort Expert took over. They refuse to honour the original contract and have overbilled for more than $1000. The company is not easy to deal with and are actively taking hard earned $ from hard working Canadians. Company is disgraceful. my recommendation is to NEVER deal with them. read more

Must be shark week again. Beware of sharks. I've been charged $240 for a technician to come and take a photograph, in mid-November while I am without heat. And there is no follow up. Did I just pay for a no service? Friday night (19-Nov) my house was full of smoke. I found out that my boiler (home heating system) went up in smoke. I had to open up all the windows in the middle of winter to let out the smoke. I called the next morning (Saturday) to Confort Expert for a service call. They told me that it must be prepaid on my credit card for the service call. A technician called an hour later and I told him about the scenero. He told me there is nothing he can do and suggested that I call back on Monday to make another arrangement. About 30 minutes later another technician called and I told him about what the first technician said. He said he was nearby and had to see it. He showed up later, walked down to the basement, opened the casing of the boiler, took a photograph and said that the boiler is finished and there is nothing he can do. He asked me to sign his work order to show that he was there. Then he left. Three weeks later, my credit card bill showed up and I realized that I was still charged for the call. I called back to the Billing Department and talked to a representative who passed me to her supervisor. He tried very hard to convince me that he is supposed to bill. I told him that the first technician already told me that there is nothing he could do so why would the second technician come? He said that the second technician is to tell me that he cannot provide service. I said I don't need him to tell me, my boiler the size of a microwave has gone up in smoke, I know there is nothing he could do. I was hoping that the technician would suggest that he could call the boiler manufacturer to get a replacement and come back to do the installation. He replied that calling the manufacturer takes time. I said why didn't anyone call me back to tell me that Confort Expert is doing that. We are in the middle of winter and I have no heat. He again said that calling the manufacturer takes time. I told him since no one called me back, I called the manufacturer myself and got a replacement in 1 week. I had to call another company to have the installation done the following week. So don't tell me that calling the manufacturer takes time. You guys just did not follow up. How can you charge me when you have not provided service. The first technician already told me that he could do nothing, it should have already closed the call and not charge me. There is no reason for the second technician to come. He said that the second technician had to come to take the serial number so that he could follow up. I said when I called the manufacturer 4 days later and reported the serial number, he told me nobody called to make a claim. So Confort Expert has taken the money without any follow up. I was on this call for over 1 hour for the manager to talk to the 2 directors who refused the refund. read more

One of my worst experiences in building renovation. I hired Confort Expert to replace my heat pump this spring. The good points: the sales guy seems very knowledgeable and gave me good recommandations. The team who installed the heat pump did a good job as well (mechanical part). Everything else was a nightmare. From taking an appointment to install the heat pump - I signed the contract, they started picking the monthly installements from my account, but nobody called me to give me an appointment for the installation. I had to call back the sales guy to manage to have an appointment in two months. The electrician who was there to do the wiring did not know how to connect the bi-energy, so they say that another technician will call me to set an appointment. I had again to call myself and to insist to manage to have the appointment 21/2 months after the installation. Meanwhile I realized that the gas furnace does not work properly - I suspect some wrong wiring between the new controller and the furnace controller, so I called Confort Expert again and I had a technician who came today. After 31/2 hours he left not only not managing to solve the problem, but leaving more problems than at his arrival. If you need an HVAC contractor for your home, I would strongly suggest you avoid Confort Expert. read more

I had to have my water heater change. I was told by Hydrosolution that they would be coming between a 12:00 PM (noontime) to 5:00 PM. I purchased a Carrier AC/Thermopompe in October 2018. It has a 10 year guarantee. In the winter, I cannot use it because the defrost goes on for 30 minutes at a time and does this several times per day and my place is very cold. In the summer time (right now), I have my AC at 17 degrees, it's 33 degrees outside and it's warm in my 4 1/2. There's no water that comes out of the machine (maybe 2" in a small bucket per day). The techs are at my place every other month (when they decide to show up), and instead of replacing this defective crap I purchased, they just keep coming back for nothing! I do NOT recommend this company, instead I advise you to RUN AWAY from this company! read more

We have a lease hot water heater which was an inherited item when we purchased our home, decided to keep it to see if this (process we've never heard of, leased, would work for us) This company is base in QC so they subcontract to a company in NS. The emailed us a pre-auth payment form to take a monthly fee off of our credit card which we filled out and submitted, when we heard no response we inquired into the process and another rep resent us the same form. We informed BOTH people this was already submitted. then b/c the tank was from 2005 and, we began to notice rust in the water, we let them know and they contacted the company they use here and said a tech would contact us. When we heard nothing, we let Confort expert know this and they said they'd resubmit the request. Then a "bell aliant" email address told us the date they'd be to our home. No business email, no notification of what business this person represented. The business arrived, the subcontracted company Meadowbrooke Mechanical, to replace our hot water heater. Meadowbrooke came with 2 techs, one was very umprofessional, swore, talked badly about other companies work and said if anythig was to go wrong it would be our responsibility to fix (although we pay a "lease price" and they are the ones installing the tank) We contacted Confort expert and the "bell aliant" email - linked to meadowbrook mechanical to let them know how terrible this person was and we've followed up three times and no one has responded.
