The class II and III rapids were the perfect size for us. It was slightly challenging in a few places but nothing terribly difficult. It was absolutely exhilarating! Our guide Eric was incredible! He was super knowledgeable and really seemed to know the river very well. We all felt really lucky to have him as a guide. After watching a few other color rafts/companies get stuck continuously, we knew we chose the right people for this adventure. 10/10 will definitely be back again. The staff is welcoming as soon as you enter the store. They helped us pick the right dry packs for our phones and we were able to purchase other gifts as well. The safety instructions and map were very helpful and the float took us a little more than 90 minutes. A warm welcome greeted us as we reached the end of our float. We loaded the bus and headed back to the starting point. I love this float because we were the only ones on the river. There was no packing of people onto the bus and unloading with a slew of others with their tubes. We had the river to ourselves and we loved it. Along the way, we were welcomed by a gentleman sitting on a porch singing a song about people floating on the river. It was memorable. As was the trip. Great time, Headwaters! We will see you again!

Even though we got there super early, because of the holiday, there was a HUGE line getting into Devils Fork Park with the park rangers checking in with every vehicle - the rangers were turning away everyone without a parking reservation. I called Eclectic Sun and the nice lady on the phone said to show them our kayak reservation confirmation and that she would have a parking spot saved for us. Because we were in line for 1+ hours, we didn't get in until way after our reservation time but everyone was super nice and adjusted the time for us. The guys at the life jacket rental and down by the water helping people get in and out of their kayaks were also all very nice. All kayaks they had seemed to be in great shape, we had no problem using ours. Once you're out in the water, you can just dock it at any beach area you find around the lake (even though it was a busy day at the lake, there are so many beaches, you can easily find an empty one). We will definitely come back and rent one out again!

This was not what we expected! We did hear over and over again "the river is down and slow, we need…read moremore rain". What we did NOT hear is - "expect to paddle yourself (meaning, using your arms) down 3/4 of the river because there is little to no current". It took us nearly 3 hours - advertised as 2 hours. 2 boys who normally love outdoor activities & white water rafting started to look for the bridge (signaling the end) around every turn about 45 mins into this 'excursion'. At 1.5 hours, the adults wanted the trip to end as well since we were very tired of paddling. The feeding of the horses on the way to the landing, is not necessary and probably only fun for the kids on the 'pew bench trailer' - those on the bus are just hot and waiting to get going. When you are on the bus, you need to listen close to the directions, because those are about ALL the instructions you will receive. The owners / workers are pleasant enough, but I would not recommend this activity with the current water levels.

His knowledge of bass fishing, kayak fishing, and the local environment, coupled with his natural teaching ability was the perfect balance of learning and fun. We caught loads of spotted bass and some largemouth while getting some exercise and experiencing the serenity of the natural environment.
