My nail tech explained all the services they offer, she did a very relaxed, caring and beautiful pedicure and it's holding up incredibly well. The nail tech was friendly and so sweet. She made me feel like I was getting a pedicure from a friend, not a new stranger. That said, she didn't overdo the conversation. It didn't feel forced or sales-y. We had a great conversation and I will definitely be booking all of my pedicures with her from now on. The price was incredibly reasonable too. Definitely worth the 45 minute drive for me. I've already scheduled a facial to try their facial services out and look forward to that. The young woman who did my pedicure also does facials (but unfortunately her schedule didn't work with mine the day I needed it to). I'm hoping I find a second rock star at this place. 1 STAR -- Absolutely Unacceptable Customer Service…read more I honestly never thought I would be writing a review like this for Ombré Nails. I have been a customer since the salon opened and had been going to Yumi and Andy for years before they even opened Ombré Nails. I have supported them for a long time and considered myself a very loyal customer. Unfortunately, after my most recent experience, that loyalty clearly meant far more to me than it did to them. I had my nails done by Yumi herself--the owner of the salon. Within 2-3 days, my nails started lifting. I was out of town when this happened, so I couldn't return until I got back into town about a week later. During that time, one of the nails actually broke off before I was able to get back to the salon. When I returned, I had Yumi examine my nails. Yumi admitted that SHE had forgotten to apply the primer and told me that was the reason my nails were lifting. Let that sink in: the owner personally performed my service, the owner personally made the mistake, and the owner personally acknowledged that her mistake caused the problem. At that point, I expected the salon to do the right thing. Instead, I was still charged for the service. After acknowledging that the problem was caused by the owner's own mistake, I was told that the absolute most they could do was give me a 10% discount. After years of loyalty, I found that response incredibly disappointing. And somehow, despite everything, I STILL left a 20% tip. Yes--a full 20% tip. I was unhappy with the service, one of my nails had already broken off, the owner had admitted the mistake was hers, and I was still charged for the service--yet I still chose to tip generously. I wasn't looking for a handout. I wasn't asking for special treatment. I was expecting basic accountability and customer service. Businesses make mistakes. Nobody expects perfection. What customers should be able to expect is that when the OWNER acknowledges that she personally made a mistake that caused the service to fail within days, the business will stand behind its work. Instead, I was charged for a service that the owner herself admitted was performed incorrectly and was offered a mere 10% discount. This wasn't a mysterious problem. It wasn't something outside their control. The owner told me exactly what went wrong--and then I was still expected to pay for it. That is what makes this experience so unacceptable. After years of giving this business my money and my loyalty, I walked away feeling completely unappreciated and extremely disappointed. The nails lifting was the original problem. One even broke off. But the complete lack of accountability and customer service was the real deal breaker. I will absolutely not be returning. If this is how a longtime customer is treated when the OWNER admits that she personally made the mistake, I would strongly encourage anyone considering this salon to think carefully about where they choose to spend their money. One star because zero isn't an option.
