I originally asked for anything vegano and he said no. He had some english menus available and speaks good english. I ordered an orange juice and my sister ordered her meal, which she quite enjoyed and a cappuccino - so cute! The owner came back to try to find something I could eat. I ended up getting a little plate of mashed banana with oatmeal. Simple and delicious. He was so kinda and I so appreciate his effort!! The place is itty bitty but people tend to come and go quickly as the food is delivered quickly. It is definitely this cute little stop in cafe! They have great hours, I believe its 9am-9pm, and they're even open on Sundays, so if you are looking for a good brunch spot on Sunday, check them out! They have decent coffee, and really great baked goods. They also happen to be on of only two places I know of in Rio where you can get a decent American-style chocolate chip cookie. The food is all reasonably priced. Sandwiches are in the R$20 range and the lunch specials run around R$30.

This store is not quite as large and doesn't have the display of the working portion of the bakery behind the window like the flagship store but it's less cramped and has a similar decor. I got a classic mille-fueille pastry and a cappuccino (they top with chocolate and cinnamon if you like). Both were quite delicious. There were only one or two pastries of each kind left, which is good because they don't make more than they can sell for the day, but still had a decent selection. I also got a loaf of Italian bread and will try it tomorrow with my meal. I'm excited they opened this branch out in this neighborhood.
