In an era of unprecedented growth in Nashville, good Concrete people are hard to find. Prior to having this work done we sought 3 different quotes from 3 different concrete companies. Only Brandon at Concrete Pros responded.
The initial quote came very quickly and the price was much better than I expected given how Concrete is a sellers market at the moment.
Unfortunately, the market also leads to a lot of hurry up and wait as well.
Waiting for weather and for concrete was a frustrating process, but hardest was the confusion lack of communication from Brandon. I am very much a technology person, as well as my wife, but Brandon is not. Emails might go unanswered for a day or even two while we wondered what was happening (or not happening). He finally provided us his phone number and said that we should very likely text him instead.
Several times we were told that someone would be there to do something, only to have them not show up or show up the next day. Another example of this was when the driveway was actually being dug out for the concrete, a Bobcat was left on our lawn long enough to kill all the grass under it. Several times they were going to come and get it, but never did (It was finally picked up).
The day of the pour we were very clear that we needed to move a car to the street. The workers were doing some final framing and we asked them to let us know just before the pour started. If it hadn't been for the better half watching the action and SEEING the truck show up we would have had our cars stranded in the carport!
The work itself was VERY well done, and I want to be very clear about this part. The actual framing and Concrete work was fantastically done and I have no complaints. I would recommend Concrete Pros for the actual WORK any day of the week.
Where the whole experience lacked was entirely on the communication front. What was next, what should we expect, when can we drive on it, what should we watch out for.. All of these questions had to be ASKED by us before they were answered and I felt like they should have been communicated as a matter of course during the whole process. Brandon didn't even come on the day of the pour so there wasn't even a slightest amount of glad handing.
So all in all, recommended, except for the lack of communication. read more
