The staff at LaPosada are exceptional! Kind, Welcoming, Helpful and knowledgeable. The services, activities, meals and quality of living is tremendous. My mother absolutely loves her apartment and she loves living there! She has made friends quickly and always has a friend (or new friend) to have dinner with each night. And we have joined her for dinner several times and the food is upscale and delicious! We especially like the cocktail hour each night in their bar area. I love that there are two restaurants to choose from and there are new specials every night. There are also plenty of fun, interesting shows, activities and exercise classes for her to participate in. She enjoys regular transportation to Publix, the mall, or a doctors appointment. In addition, the grounds and community center are so beautiful and peaceful. A special shout out to many of the wonderful staff members: First our initial contact Lonnie Ehmann who shared her time and talent and layed the foundation for our initial visits. Fabulous Kim Mancini, Yolanda, and Vivianna all made my mom's transition seamless and comfortable. Stephanie, Jennifer and all the wait staff at the Waterfront dining are so gracious and outstanding! The list goes on and on - I really can't say enough about all the staff at La Posada!! There is incredible comfort and peace-of-mind knowing that she is well cared for and that there are systems in place to check on her well being. The nurses, CNA's and physical/speech therapy staff are very caring to my husband. Yes, you may get a new CNA that does not meet this criteria but I noticed they do not last long. Have patience when your loved one first arrives as the staff gets to understand their needs. They are working hard taking care of many people with different situations. Eddie in the business office is also great to work with. I appreciate his attention to my needs.

You really can't judge a place until you've been at the worst of the worst. I had a heart transplant in Shands, Gainsville for a specialty doctor up at UF in Gainsville, Fl. After a week of surgery I was placed in a "Stephen King" rehab center in the deep south. I stayed on bed pans for a half hour or so, they didn't wipe me and woke in the AM with "chocolate " all over my bed. They left my sheets this way for three days. Unacceptable for open wound care especially. They only had two aides for the whole place and he nurse. Three days in I finally got my life saving meds and pain pills . A little late IMHO! Finally a week later my room crashed around me and I hollored for an aid stat! She finally got the nurse a half hour later as I went into ventricular tachycardia! I almost died and went to No Fl Regional to be paddled and shocked twice to get back into normal sinus rythem. Not right! I think it was called No Fl Rehab Center, blah! When I get back home I'd chose Heartland, knowing the area and some good people who've worked there. It wasn't perfect, so I give it and A- maybe, but it sure beat some of the lesser like Downtown Gardens. Jupiter Rehab is good too! Being for Gardens these three are probably your best options. I wish I can recall who told me about VIP care management, but I had to take a moment and tell you how they came to the rescue. From the very first phone call I made, I was completely reassured from the beginning that I was in good hands. And even today, I still feel like I am as I might have a question from time to time and I can always rely on this firm to guide me in the right direction. VIP care management was able to handle all that was required to get the Medicaid application process as painless as possible. They provided ample information as to what they needed, and I simply scanned and emailed everything to them and before I knew it, my Mom got accepted by Medicaid. They even referred me to an excellent edler care attorney that helped in the process of getting my mom eligible where I had thought it might not be possible. All of the staff were great, and especially Randi who I can say was like family when we spoke. Best thing I every did for my Mom and for myself! Do yourself a favor. Call them and see for yourself.

She calmed my fears - And took charge. She is a great listener and wonderful counselor and knows her field well. She advocated for me with the providers and facilitated the logistics with ease. Horizon is the worst agency ever. The RN called DCF and knowingly filed a false report claiming…read morethat my mother was guilty of self-neglect. The DCF officer came out and said it was a baseless complaint and closed out the case. This action on Horizon's part shows a complete disregard for the well-being of my mother as well as the caregiver who was unjustly fired as a result. I terminated service and went with a different company. The owner of the company sent me an email stating that she supported the RN's decision to file a false report and didn't see anything illegal about it.

When I called several times about it they told me it was not hotel around here. My dad was severely anemic. He was laying in bed telling me he couldn't breath and had chest pain. They called to tell me they didn't believe he needed to go the hospital. I called 911. My dad was put into ICU. He almost died. They are mean. Most of the staff will tell you he said no so we can't do anything. My dad has dementia. The staff will tell you your loved one said no to absolutely everything. I moved my dad to another place. Not one time will they let him say no. They care about my dad's well being. Do NOT send a loved one here if you want a caring staff.
