He was very accommodating in finding a day and time that worked for us, very hospitable, and had a great personality! Charlie texts you several times before the boat day, to make sure directions on everything are clear- I really appreciated receiving the EXACT directions with pictures and precise details. His "Tiki Tiki" boat was brand new and beautiful, and I enjoyed bringing our own drinks and snacks on the boat (he parks next to a food boat, if you'd rather buy food). The sandbar was a lot of fun, and Charlie brought many toys for us to play with on the water (kayak, rafts, beer pong table, noodles, etc). Definitely enough equipment to keep you busy for the day! The sandbar was a bit busy (even on a weekday), but he tried to find us an area where no one was blaring their music, so we could play our own. Charlie took several pictures and videos for us that he emailed us later in the week. I really enjoyed having all those, in addition to mine. Only constructive criticism I have, would be that I booked a half day "tour", and had mentioned going snorkeling and doing the catch/release of baby sharks. I was under the impression that was all set up as the plan for the day. However, we went straight to the sandbar and spent the day there; little bit of a letdown as we wanted to do other activities as well- other than that it was a great day! The water was clear, we saw some fish (and lots of dogs), and the weather was perfect- we had a great day with Captain Charlie!

Of course the Sandbar is beautiful but the hospitality is what sets this charter apart from the rest. His boat was beautiful and we were comfortable as can be all day long. Alligator reef was overrated (as the guides mentioned) would definitely recommend asking to go to a different spot. the second spot we went to was much deeper, much more biodiversity, and we spotted a sting ray and nurse sharks. felt like swimming in a pool it was so good! if im ever back in town we will definitely book again! some things we did to prepare: sunscreen before the boat departs the deck brought our own gear and they provided baby shampoo as anti fog (works really good) took my own anti-motion sickness medicine (needed 100% the second day)

This is the first review I have ever written on Yelp…read more We booked a day cruise with Capt Matt last week I noticed that he did not have any reviews on yelp that I thought was kind of weird I figured he was just getting started in the charter business I saw the photos of him and his clients and his boat and beautiful locations in the turquoise water and new that he was for real We started at the most beautiful snorkeling spot I have ever been, Alligator Reef. He jumped in the water and took my three teenage children on a tour around the whole tower of the reef My kids told me later that they enjoyed Capt Matt's Charter more than all the charters we went on last year in the US Virgin Islands combined He made the trip fun, exciting and made us feel like we knew him for a long time He is very personable, and customized this trip just the way we could enjoy this beautiful area with the skill level we had After a vip snorkeling experience he took us to a place to just kick back on the sand bar We then had frozen virgin mango drinks with the portable blender we had on board, floated in the calm water and enjoyed the show of all the boaters around us We were vacationing in the keys all week and this was the highlight of the trip We are planning to return in a few months, Capt Matt and Tan Line Charters will be the first call we make upon our return Job well done, thanks for the great memories!!!!

Best Charter in the Keys…read more I have fished on the Good Karma Sportfishing charter several times. Every trip has been a great fishing experience. His customer service is top notch. Always courteous and professional. Captain Ryan caters to all different level fishing experience. So if you have kids or spouse that are beginner that is not a problem. I always enjoy fishing with Captain Ryan. The hunt of finding fish and when the hard work pays off it is so rewarding. Captain Ryan has my business.

He was wonderful to work with, very responsive on calling me back and I was able to use he's online booking. On the day of the trip, he fitted us with snorkel gear and gave a nice snorkeling profile of the reef. The water and fish were amazing. We had such a great time we also booked a sunset tour with him. My Daughter and I just spent 3 days fishing with Jon and his mates, Craig and Eddie; we had an…read moreabsolute ball. The short story is that I HIGHLY recommend them, can't imagine a better fishing experience. Longer story Jon is an amazing captain and fisherman; he works very hard to find the fish and different experiences for his customers. His knowledge of fishing is amazing, and he certainly knows Islamorada like the back of his hand. We caught 10 different species, including a Sailfish by my daughter (Highlight) and many other cool battles getting the fish to the Boat. Craig and Eddie work very hard and make the whole experience 5 Star. Most importantly, Jon, Craig and Eddie are all great guys and were amazing to talk to, I could have just listened to their stories and would have enjoyed the trip. Could not recommend them any higher.

This captain is an absolute fish hunter and his mate is the best mate I've been on a boat with. The boat is beamy and the ride is smooth. The space is comfy and the fishing is exciting and educational. I strongly recommend you give this outfit a try. If you're in town multiple days doing multiple charters, I recommend you do Drop Back last. There's no doubt the other charter will be a disappointment. We've been on Drop Back 3 times and each time it made the other charters feel like a waste of money. This guy cares about the fishery, proves it with his actions, knows a ridiculous amount of information about all species and provides the perfect experience to represent the fishing capital of the world.
