What a great surprise to find Conchetta antico in downtown La Jolla. I was coming out from a nearby coffee shop when I saw this. Pretty tables and chairs outside like if it was a French bistro. Then I noticed it was like an antique shop which normally do not interest me. However, looking inside I noticed there were people painting and there were things like you would find at the usual gift store like cute bags, art books, cards, candles, printenfrom the paintings, etc. Everyone I interfaced with was very friendly including Concetta herself. She told me she's going to start a series of events where people can paint and can have some sort of food that's going to be brought by some chef and you can have drinks except coffee. I think it's going to be really lively. She's preparing a big event which I wont miss. I like Conchetta's art but I like even more the concept of Cafe/ occasional antique shop. Wishing lots of luck in this new venture of expanding the business to more community gathering. read more
