I am posting the photos because they speak for themselves. I would not return, and I would not recommend this salon based on the service I received.

I was so embarrassed by my behavior, but she was very sweet. In addition to her kindness, she was fast. I got a Russian manicure with fast gel (no removal) for $85 (and a $2.47 service fee). The whole process took 45 minutes. The color came out exactly how I wanted it to, and I was very please with how uniform the shape of the nails were. FYI: There are two Beauty By Lid locations. I went here to get my hair and makeup done for prom. It was not a good experience.In fact it was awful. In summary, this was my experience: 1) they booked me wrong and so the lady who was supposed to do my makeup didn't show 2) they lied saying that they had everyone to do my hair/makeup when they didn't 3) the lady who got put to do my makeup was only supposed to do my hair and so she did not have any of her professional makeup with her and so she used the crappy stuff concerto had (1st of all, what professional mua doesn't bring her stuff w/ her whenever she is at work? 2nd the makeup she used and the scratchy brushes gave me an allergic reaction) 4) I asked for old hollywood type hair and I got flapper girl hair 5) they didn't have all the makeup needed (including: makeup wipes, false eyelashes, mascara, liquid liner, liquid foundation, different color lips, etc.) 6) the mua/hair artist was running late so I had to wait for 30 minutes just to see her 7) after this horrendous experience, which took longer than she originally told me, I had to run home, shower and redo EVERYTHING bc it was soo soo bad (and everyone I showed the pics of the makeup too said the same), and it made me way late for prom pics. Overall, I used to get my hair cut here, but now they just lost a customer. I will never give them my service again. I wanted to feel/look beautiful for my LAST prom, and I did, AFTER I had to do my own hair and makeup, but it still was definitely not what I imagined/wanted. The receptionists lied for business and the hair/mua were definitely NOT professional. If you want your hair/makeup done, do yourself a favor and go to the Blo Out Lounge, they are fantastic and I originally wanted to go there but they were completely filled (that tells you something!). read more

I have been going to Concerto Salon for 4 years. My boyfriend at the time got me a package that included hair, nails and a facial. My hair was done by the owner Nik, and he did my hair exactly the way i wanted it. I got married 3 months ago. Two days before the wedding i went in to get my legs and arms waxed, pedicure, acrylics, and trial run with my hair and make-up. I was at the salon for 8 hours and it was such a great experience. Every employee is so friendly and they made it a great atmosphere to be in all day. It was just what i needed to relax before the wedding. On the wedding day I had Nik do my hair, and Ayla did my make-up, and it looked amazing! I have never felt so pretty as i did that day. I refer everyone i talk to about hair to Concerto salon, and i wont go anywhere else! If anyone has had a bad experience I highly suggest talking to Nik because he really cares and he will make it right. I highly recommend Concerto Salon & Spa! read more

What a hidden gem of a salon in SCV. I was looking for a manicurist that was not only good at her trade but also easy to converse with, after all your going to be with her for 1 - 2 hours. To my delight I found Jaime. She not only does a good job with regular manicures but with gels too. My favorite is how she massages my hands, legs and feet afterwards making the whole experience relaxing! Definitely worth checking out. read more

If anyone is looking for a fantastic manicurist I highly recommend Jamie Lewis. Jamie is working at Concerto salon in Valencia. She does beautiful nails and she also will do artwork on your nails. Which I love especially for holidays and now during summer I love my flowers. She does acrylics and she does gel. Great pedicures too. I have been going to Jamie for over 25 years. My original appointment was on Saturday at 1:00 p.m., but I received a call that morning letting me know the head spa specialist was sick and they needed to reschedule. I completely understood--people get sick. They rescheduled me for Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and even offered an extra massage for being so understanding, which I appreciated. On Sunday, I arrived a few minutes before my appointment. There were two stylists working with clients, and I stood there for a few minutes before someone acknowledged me. After I said I was there for a head spa appointment, I was asked to have a seat for a few minutes. About 15 minutes later, the stylist called me over to her station, performed the included scalp analysis, and then explained that she had gotten behind and needed to finish with her two existing clients. She was very pleasant and engaging, so I didn't mind waiting at first. Unfortunately, "a few minutes" turned into an hour and a half. My 2:00 p.m. appointment didn't actually begin until around 3:30 p.m. Even after I was taken back to the head spa room, I waited another 10-15 minutes before the stylist came in. Since this was my first head spa experience, I didn't know exactly what to expect beyond the videos I'd seen online. To her credit, I believe she completed all of the advertised steps, and she did provide a very nice, extended massage. The treatment itself was enjoyable. The experience fell apart afterward. The package included a blowout, but my hair was simply dried with fingers run through it, with a brush used only briefly. I left with frizzy, poofy hair and ended up having to rewash and style it myself when I got home. I finally left at 5:30 p.m.--three and a half hours after arriving for what should have been a much shorter appointment. The biggest disappointment wasn't the treatment itself; it was the complete lack of respect for my time. I had told my husband I'd be home in about an hour so we could spend the afternoon with our son. Instead, I spent most of my Sunday waiting. I went in hoping for a relaxing experience and left feeling stressed and rushed. I understand that schedules sometimes get off track, and I genuinely appreciated that they accommodated me after having to cancel my first appointment. However, once it became clear they were running this far behind, I wish someone had offered me the option to reschedule again or at least been honest about the delay. I could have made an informed decision instead of spending hours waiting. Based on my experience, I can't say I would return.
