Dr. Ryan Shanannan was thorough, professional, and reassuring. On 2 South, Mae, Crystal, and Paige were exceptional--caring, knowledgeable, and clearly dedicated to their patients. Doctors Kim and Dr. C were compassionate, and the surgeon and anesthesiologist communicated clearly and confidently. Here comes the problem!!!!! Now, unfortunately, the complete opposite experience: Elliot from the ER phone line. Rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I asked a straightforward question about possibly speaking with Dr. Shanannan. Instead of listening, he repeated the same irrelevant line about not giving out the doctor's schedule--which I never asked for. It was either a lack of comprehension or a lack of effort--neither is acceptable. When I asked to leave a message, I was told "we don't do that." No explanation. No alternative. Just a dead end. When I confirmed his name, he responded with attitude. When I asked his role, he refused to answer altogether--which raises serious concerns about transparency. Patients shouldn't have to question who they're speaking to when trying to get help. For someone in a frontline role at a hospital, basic communication and professionalism should be the bare minimum. Instead, the interaction felt dismissive and borderline disrespectful. It's disappointing, because one person like this can easily undermine the trust built by an otherwise excellent medical team. The hospital clearly has many outstanding professionals--Elliot is not one of them, clearly Elliot does not have human kindness.

First of all, I love that they are within walking distance if I felt up to walking! Also, the place is always very clean and neat and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. I've never had to wait more than 5 minutes before being taken to a room and I am usually seen by the nurse and/or doctor within 15 minutes. None of us like being sick or slightly injured but it's great to have a place so close to home that has staff that cares about your health and does what they can and you don't have to wait in long lines like some other UC places. The only thing I wish they had was an EKG machine because the one time I felt like I needed my heart to be checked, they didn't have one so referred me to ER but it's great that they can do X-rays.

The wait times were a bit rough but I'm finding that to be the case everywhere, so I wouldn't necessarily dock them for this knowing this is the reality of healthcare facilities nowadays but I will make notes. Actually the reason I docked a star was cleanliness and this is an outdated looking facility. They get the job done. As I noted, I'm thankful the staff and doctors were all actually very friendly. When your sick, compassionate and patient people go a long way. The front desk staff were nice and seemed empathetic. I asked how long the wait time would be and the gal estimated 45 minutes. I got called in an hour after waiting, so she wasn't far off which I appreciated. The doctor was also very compassionate and even apologized for the wait, she didn't have to do that. She was efficient and once she saw me I was out quick. The whole experience was 2 hours which is rough when you're sick, but again, I'm finding that to be the case everywhere. The only thing that worried me is that the cleanliness of this spot was iffy. The floors in the waiting room were filthy...I was there at 12pm so they had only been open a few hours, I guess it just worries me when any medical site doesn't seem like it gets a sweep and mop daily. Maybe my expectations are too high? The back rooms were outdated and this urgent care could use a refresh but at the end of the day, they got the job done and I'm just grateful everyone was nice and as efficient as they could be.
