I can't say enough about her!! It sets a tone and gives a person a feeling of confidence. We met with people at intake, the PA, nursing staff at set up and in recovery - the doctor who did the surgery as well as the anesthesiologist - and everyone was pleasant and helpful. It is nice to feel that people care and that was my experience. I am a social worker in private practice and I take care of my patients like they were my family and I felt the same way with the care at the outpatient ambulatory care practice of NJMC.

The food was consistently inedible and tasted like paper--not even a pinch of salt for the so-called "scrambled eggs," which I think were probably powdered egg substitute. The vegetables were inevitably canned peas and carrots. I almost missed an easy ride home and inconvenienced my neighbor because no one, including the "hospitalist" doctor and the nurse on my final day, bothered to tell me what time my last IV would be given. Some of the nurses were very kind and caring. One young nurse kept calling me "dear," which I found patronizing and annoying. I'm 71 years old; perhaps that seemed ancient to her. In my sense of etiquette, you do not call someone "dear" unless you know them well. I am rating this hospital a 3, average, but that's generous. It's closer to a 2.5.

My experience at Jersey City Medical Center (part of RWJBarnabas Health) raises serious concerns…read moreabout patient treatment and billing practices. I presented to the ER on July 21-22, 2025 with a stable neck lesion. After labs and imaging, I repeatedly asked to be discharged. Instead, I was told I had to stay overnight because ENT surgery was supposedly planned for the next morning. When I questioned this, I was told I could not leave and that "police officer at the door won't let me out". Despite being kept overnight, I received no active care. From roughly 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, I was left unattended in an ER bay -- no bed, no blanket, no food or water, and no documented monitoring. The next morning, the ENT stated surgery would be scheduled over a month later, confirming there was no emergency and no medical reason for the overnight "observation." Nevertheless, JCMC billed high-acuity ER and hospital observation charges for this stay. Later, an ENT follow-up visit billed a diagnostic nasal endoscopy that was never performed; that charge was removed only after I challenged the documentation in writing. I submitted detailed complaints to JCMC Patient Advocacy and Billing in August 2025, including a code-by-code dispute. In September, JCMC responded with a generic letter stating that all services were appropriate and closed the case without addressing the lack of care or contradictory medical evidence. Since then, leadership has stated they are "reviewing" disputed CPT codes for weeks, while billing timelines continue to run. Subsequent MRI imaging and independent ENT opinions confirmed there was no abscess or emergent condition. Because of how this matter has been handled, my case is now under review by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners, New Jersey Consumer Affairs, and the New Jersey Department of Health, and will be escalated further, including to the New Jersey Attorney General and the courts if necessary, to ensure accountability and restore fairness. Patients deserve transparency, informed consent, and appropriate care -- not coercion, unsupported billing, and prolonged delays. I strongly encourage patients to carefully review observation status, documentation, and charges, and to advocate for themselves.

I went back on a Friday and I was send via lab core site my results the very next day on line ( way to go lab core). It's now 3 weeks after my blood test and results were received and I have not received one call from the doctor regarding my blood test results. This is not a professional way to run a doctors office. Also this was my first time at care point for physical and I will surely tell anyone I will not be returning since they do not seem to care for their your wellness. I was also charged a co pay on which according to my insurance company there should be no company. I don't think they even check that when I was there and just charged me. Also very unprofessional. To make matters worse, during the yearly physical I mentioned I had some neck pain (probably from sitting at a desk all day), and the doctor was way too eager to prescribe medication without properly addressing the root cause. They prescribed a muscle pain gel that cost $950! It felt like they were more focused on pushing expensive treatments than actually providing quality care. I passed the first round of the exam, then--without much explanation--was told to repeat a second round and was marked as failing because the doctor said he "heard me struggling." This was confusing because I wasn't making any noise. The wait to see the doctor was about 25-30 minutes, during which I became fatigued. When the exam resumed, I felt rushed. The first assistant was polite and professional; the second assistant was not, and the tone felt impatient. In fairness, the front desk staff--especially Desiree--was excellent: polite, kind, and welcoming. Overall, the process lacked clarity and consistency, and the delay plus rushing affected my performance. I hope this clinic improves communication, timeliness, and bedside manner. If you can avoid this location, I would; if it's your only option, be prepared for possible delays and ask for clear explanations at each step.

Overall quality care with nurses that care…read more This review is based on the subacute rehabilitation located on the 7th floor. To start Hoboken Medical was one of the few places around I found that were only short term care. Other were short term and long term which may not seem like a big deal. But given that they are only short term, removes the possibility of lessening the services in order to shift the patients to long term. So that's a plus. Nurses, particularly the physical therapy nurses are amazing. They really care about their work and have the best personalities they compliment their work perfectly. Firm but patient. Caring but also teaching them independence. My dad was truly happy there and improved rapidly from when he initially admitted. I won't say it was without its share of incidents as speaking remotely with nurses was somewhat challenging especially during the night shift. But during the day, staff were exceptional. I would definitely recommend Hoboken Medical Center if you are looking for short term rehabilitation.

TURNED AWAY -- No equipment for basic care…read more On April 26th I called ahead to confirm PromptMD Hoboken was open and accepting patients. I arrived with my daughter who had glass embedded in her finger from a broken screen protector. She was in pain and upset. We were told the facility did not have the equipment necessary to remove glass from a wound. We were turned away without any treatment. I was shocked. Removing a small foreign object from a finger is about as basic as urgent care gets. Their own website says they are "dedicated to providing swift and effective treatment for a wide range of urgent medical needs for patients of all ages." I had to take my distressed child to another facility and pay $250 out of pocket. I sent a formal letter requesting reimbursement, followed up directly with the CEO by email, and received no response to either communication in 14 days. I am sharing this so other families in Hoboken know to confirm not just that a facility is open -- but that they actually have the basic equipment to treat you when you get there.

No call back; I called, and after holding for a while, was told I'd receive that call back. None received. I'll drop to 3 stars tomorrow if I still can't get a valid response. Reasonable waiting time.  Saw Dr Islam, in whom I have the highest level of confidence.
