Kept me waiting for 2 hours after already charging my insurance. Terrible. Save your time and go to the urgent care in Lyndhurst instead.

I presented to the ER on July 21-22, 2025 with a stable neck lesion. After labs and imaging, I repeatedly asked to be discharged. Instead, I was told I had to stay overnight because ENT surgery was supposedly planned for the next morning. When I questioned this multiple times, I was told I could not leave and that "police officer at the door won't let me out". Despite being kept overnight, I received no active care. From roughly 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, I was left unattended in an ER bay -- no bed, no blanket, no food or water, and no documented monitoring. The next morning, the ENT stated surgery would be scheduled over a month later, confirming there was no emergency and no medical reason for the overnight "observation." Nevertheless, JCMC billed high-acuity ER and hospital observation charges for this stay. Later, an ENT follow-up visit billed a diagnostic nasal endoscopy that was never performed; that charge was removed only after I challenged the documentation in writing. I submitted detailed complaints to JCMC Patient Advocacy and Billing in August 2025, including a code-by-code dispute. In September, JCMC responded with a generic letter stating that all services were appropriate and closed the case without addressing the lack of care or contradictory medical evidence. Since then, leadership has stated they are "reviewing" disputed CPT codes for weeks, while billing timelines continue to run. Subsequent MRI imaging and independent ENT opinions confirmed there was no abscess or emergent condition. Because of how this matter has been handled, my case is now under review by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners, New Jersey Consumer Affairs, and the New Jersey Department of Health, and will be escalated further, including to the New Jersey Attorney General and the courts if necessary, to ensure accountability and restore fairness. Patients deserve transparency, informed consent, and appropriate care -- not coercion, unsupported billing, and prolonged delays. I strongly encourage patients to choose other medical facilities than JCMC, carefully review observation status, documentation, and charges, and to advocate for themselves.

So I chose the Amerihealth plan, and when the new year started I get informed by other staff that they do not accept Amerihealth insurance for outpatient services. 2. I had to go to the E.R. because of Suboxone withdrawal symptoms like diarrhea and other problems. They did not follow the correct protocol for learning about how much Suboxone I had been prescribed and the last time I picked up the medication. 3. The psych ward is the most depressing one I've ever seen--and I've been in quite a few. There are no windows, no color--it's drab with overhead white flourescent lighting. What is wrong with these people? Don't they know environment can affect people's moods?

I went back on a Friday and I was send via lab core site my results the very next day on line ( way to go lab core). It's now 3 weeks after my blood test and results were received and I have not received one call from the doctor regarding my blood test results. This is not a professional way to run a doctors office. Also this was my first time at care point for physical and I will surely tell anyone I will not be returning since they do not seem to care for their your wellness. I was also charged a co pay on which according to my insurance company there should be no company. I don't think they even check that when I was there and just charged me. Also very unprofessional. I would for sure steer away from this location

I had to call repeatedly just to get the doctor to return my call and explain what the results meant, which was incredibly unprofessional. To make matters worse, during the yearly physical I mentioned I had some neck pain (probably from sitting at a desk all day), and the doctor was way too eager to prescribe medication without properly addressing the root cause. They prescribed a muscle pain gel that cost $950! It felt like they were more focused on pushing expensive treatments than actually providing quality care. Very disappointed with the lack of communication and it is safe to say I will not be returning.

I called them up and was at the First Street location within 15 minutes. Dr. Metry was very kind and knowledgeable and prescribed me the appropriate medications to get rid of a chest infection. I did not feel rushed and she took her time to understand my issue. If you have an urgent care matter, definitely consider PromptMD! For the people who gave negative reviews, always check with your own insurance before visiting any doctor to make sure they are in-network. PromptMD was in network for me and I will go back if I have any other urgent care matter.

TURNED AWAY -- No equipment for basic care…read more On April 26th I called ahead to confirm PromptMD Hoboken was open and accepting patients. I arrived with my daughter who had glass embedded in her finger from a broken screen protector. She was in pain and upset. We were told the facility did not have the equipment necessary to remove glass from a wound. We were turned away without any treatment. I was shocked. Removing a small foreign object from a finger is about as basic as urgent care gets. Their own website says they are "dedicated to providing swift and effective treatment for a wide range of urgent medical needs for patients of all ages." I had to take my distressed child to another facility and pay $250 out of pocket. I sent a formal letter requesting reimbursement, followed up directly with the CEO by email, and received no response to either communication in 14 days. I am sharing this so other families in Hoboken know to confirm not just that a facility is open -- but that they actually have the basic equipment to treat you when you get there.

Due to this, Dr. Rafael decided to not see me in person, but through a video call from the room behind me. He tried to prescribe me Paxlovid for a retail price of $1500 (which I did not learn of until I visited my pharmacy). The visit was 10 minutes long maximum. I was billed $700 total for my visit which part of was due to a "telemed" and "follow-up" visit as I was told by a rep. Both were untrue as it was all within one singular, 10-minute visit and it was in-person. I confronted the office about this via phone and email - I received no response. I continue to get spam calls from Vanguard regarding this bill and every time a different representative tells me to speak with the office about my issue, which I already have to no avail. I would never recommend this site nor this doctor to anybody.

I have several instances when I got surprised by out of pocket charges. They did not disclose charge upfront and I only found out after insurance claims. Simply stating a concern can mean that you can be billed for more. This year, I was told that my current cholesterol has been increasing, which I can infer myself from reading the blood test results. That simple discussion automatically cost me $. If not for this dishonest billing practice, I would have continue coming here.
