Bayshore Company - Moving out instructions from Wanda at Bayshore

While we were shocked at…read morethe rental rates and condition of many homes in the area we were glad to find The Bayshore Company. They had two properties that met our criteria and luckily we found the perfect spot with an amazing view outside the city of Asheville. The paperwork while detailed, is there to protect their owner's investment. They do have a thorough process in determining if leasee will be make a good tenant, so be prepared. We leased from them for two years before moving to SC with no issues. They were even able to neogiate with the owner, new carpeting before we moved in. During our time there they also got consent from owner to replace both the dishwasher and range. They always addressed any repair or home concerns promptly and sent out polite service people when work was required. They even recommended a terrific lawn guy who made the trek up our gravel road to cut our steep lawn at a reasonable rate. Treat them with respect and I think you will receive it in return.

Any time I've needed something fixed it's been taken care of and I have always been able to get in touch with someone at the office when necessary. They have been understanding with me when there was a rent check snafu and were way more patient than I expected a realty company to be. I've had awful landlord situations before but Bayshore has been a relief, honestly, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a place to live in Asheville.

My experience with Mary Love, as my buyer's agent, was very enjoyable and successful. One year ago…read moreI wanted a second home in the Asheville area, and I had been looking, off and on, for 2 years. When I switched to Mary for my agent, I quickly found a home that met my needs and am happily living there today. Mary Love listened to what I wanted and targeted our search toward just those types of properties in my price range. We looked at several homes together, and when we found the one that was right, she and her team handled the negotiations, the arrangements for inspections, and the closing details very well. Since buying, she has provided me with referrals for service people, whenever I request it; as an example, I just saved 50% on my homeowner's insurance using her insurance agency recommendation. I would recommend Mary Love to others, especially those wanting a "green" home or real estate, and I would use her services as a real estate agent again.

One call late Saturday produced a return call early Sunday morning from Agency! The rental agent and owner/Broker, Angela went out of their way to facilitate a smooth application process and occupancy of condo. There were some bumps along the way re: particulars needing to be addressed prior to occupancy . Broker negotiated matters fairly between landlord and me. I have been most pleased with how Black Bear handles each concern that arises since I moved in. As a retired Realtor, I would recommend this agency. Efficient, caring and professional !

Black Bear Rentals and Leanne Bannerman managed our three properties without issue for about a…read moreyear, but problems arose when a tenant broke her lease early. Ms. Bannerman gave conflicting advice and handled this lease termination differently than a prior one on another property of ours. When we asked for clarification, communication broke down and she told us we were welcome to move our properties to another company if we didn't want to follow her advice. When we agreed, she became aggressive and unwilling to work through a reasonable termination of our contracts. She then said she would discount the termination fee only if we signed an agreement promising not to share our experience publicly or file a claim with the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. When we refused, she ended our management agreements early, kept thousands in rent after breaking the contract, and left us to take over three properties with only a few hours' notice. Although the NCREC found no technical rule violations in our claim, Leanne's refusal to communicate clearly, her aggressive approach, and her failure to work through a difficult situation in a professional manner highlighted serious concerns about her reliability and accountability as a property manager. I do not recommend this company, as the professionalism and integrity we expected were not present when it mattered most.

This is the absolute worst place to have your property managed. I have owned properties for many…read moreyears. In New York City I have always been responsive to my tenants needs and concerns. I wish i could say the same for this company. I moved to Californian and intrusted my property to them. I signed a contract with them to manage my property in July 2013 and i had to end it in March 2014... Due to very very very poor communication horrible advertising and very poor lack luster maintenance. Which cost me by the way in the amount of almost a thousand dollars. Does it really cost that much to call the gas company to get a refill on your tank sweep the house and provide lawn care. In the 8 months in there care....They showed no true interests in showing the place almost never contacted me on any follow ups on how the place is doing or if any repairs are needed ....I had a water pipe that burst in the basement...Would you believe the alarm company called before they did...and that happen in Jan 2014 and the pipe was never fixed. For 2 and half months the house was left with a broken pipe. And could not be rented..SHAMEFUL!!! I had to hear about this from another rental company i had to hire instead... And that company manged to find me a renter within 2 weeks and for the amount of rent i asked for. The place would've been rented immediately by now. Asheville Property Management left my house neglected and in need of repair. I mean come on how hard is to rent a house with 3 bedrooms 3 bathrooms a finished basement with slate flooring and hot tub.....Apparently it was down right impossible for them.... So if you want to waste your time and lose close to 17.000 thousand dollars in rent and maintenance fees and damages to your property then this is the place for you. But i wouldn't recommend it. If you value your property then please i urge you DO not go with them. This company is down right shameful

I have gone to whoever runs one of the communities and I'm not gonna name names, but I've never felt heard. I feel like they just wanna hear the good things that are going on and not the problems that are going on.. i've gone to the manager once over a landlord and a rental property. Nothing against the rental people at all very sweet people, but I just wanted use of my own driveway and I understand some things are a simple matter but things got a little out of hand. I put a for sale sign in my yard and I let this person know that I was putting my house up for sale which makes me sad because I really honestly love it here I adore my neighbors and honestly, we all have a great relationship on my street and even on the And putting my house up for sale my realtor just mentioned because somebody had a air-conditioning unit outside and she just mentioned if that was in the HOA I looked and a book said that they were not allowed. She was just concerned because of people do drive-bys and seeing unit outside people would not want to buy a house. It's just personal preference and most people would like air units. So I notified the HOA and then I got a response back saying don't borrow trouble and explained that this person had an air-conditioning problem and that's why there was an air-conditioning unit temporarily there until it got fixed which is totally understandable. And this person who has the air-conditioning unit is a very lovely person. But I was just told that when the HOA person asked about air-conditioning unit. She had explained that her unit outside had needed parts and she was just using it temporarily until her air-conditioning unit got fixed, but I could not believe that the HOA person would literally tell this person. Oh, it's just some neighbors that have nothing better to do and nosy neighbors. So this HOA manager really wants discord on the street. You couldn't respond back by saying there was just concerns on the street no big deal instead you throw a jabber to that were just nosy and causing trouble.. I really do not want my sell because I really do love the street I live on I love every single person on the street and I do a lot for people on my street and even when I put the for sale sign on my street My neighbors came and asked why and I had to tell them it was because of a Landlord next-door and I just feel like I'm not being hurt and you can't even come home and park in your own driveway. As a homeowner and then when you put your house up for sale and you just have a question and the manager tells the person oh it's just a nosy person who has nothing better to do. Really I guess voicing concerns and problems are not what is welcomed here. It's very sad. There's very much a good group of people living here long-term and I'm not gonna speak them, but it's sad. Whether my house cells are not because of the economy, and the interest rates, I still will make the best of being here I will still be the best version of me to my neighbors and continue doing what I do. But I will never ever voice any concerns I don't care what is going on in the streets I don't care well I do care, but I am not gonna voice anything ever again. Just a very, very sad situation, but causing more problems in between homeowners by making statements of Nosy, neighbors, and not having anything better to do and also telling me personally don't borrow trouble I don't think that's good communication skills.
