A few months ago I suffered from something terrible that I did not know what was causing my symptoms. So through word of mouth from other specialists I was told to look into a neurologist. So with a quick google search brought me to Comprehensive Neurology Services. I went through with scheduling an appointment with Amanda Golden, Neurology PA. When I went for my first appointment back in August I walked into the building and I instantly had bad vibes from the building. She wanted me to get a few tests done to rule out other possibilities. She eventually diagnosed me with Post Concussional Syndrome so she then prescribed me with a prescription I had a few follow up appointments with her. Then someone had mentioned that I should see a TBI specialist and I reached out to Amanda Golden and she told me that she had a specialist in the office she worked in. So I finally was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Raffiq. So I go in for my appointment on 1/13 at 9am. I get called back to a room. Dr. Raffiq finally comes into the room shortly after. He tells me that he wants to increase my medication to 3 pills a day (which mind you is a prescription to help with concussions symptoms). His cell phone then rings and he tells me it's the hospital calling so he answers it on speaker phone discussing another patients personal information around. He finally gets off the phone 5 minutes later. He then starts going on about my blood pressure being too high and this and that and that my symptoms are from my high blood pressure. I tried explaining to him I have seen many doctors and had my blood pressure taken a lot though 2025. Which I had these symptoms back then. And I was never told that my blood pressure was extremely high, just that it might be high and when they would check it again it would be fine. But Dr. Raffiq really believes that my symptoms are from my high blood pressure. I tried explaining it to him that I had these symptoms way beforehand and never was told this. He then had no knowledge of anything even with being seen there with the notes in my file, he had zero knowledge of why I was there seeing him. We got into a somewhat heated argument because he would not listen to what I had to say. He then concluded my appointment with him short. Mind you I already had to wait 5 minutes of my appointment time when he was on the phone with the hospital. I don't understand why he wanted to increase my medication for concussion symptoms IF he didn't believe it had anything to do with concussion symptoms. If you are looking for a neurologist or a TBI specialist I would not recommend Dr. Raffiq to anybody! Also, you can't get through to the office you get outsourced to a call center overseas which should have been a Hugh red flag to me from the beginning. But I was in desperate need for treatment at the time that I went with this office. I. DO. NOT. RECOMMEND. read more

Was seen nearly a month ago and STILL have not had my prescriptions sent over. I've called multiple times and was assured this would be taken care of "urgently." One week later, and nothing, even after calling the practice I visited and the one closest to me to schedule a follow up. Do not recommend this practice at all. read more

I typically see Dr. Martin, which is mission impossible, so I had to see the new Doctor, Dr. Sims. He was very dismissive after me sharing with him I have pseudo tumor cerebi. I came in with my left nose leaking clear fluid. He ignored the clear signs and told me I most likely had a sinus infection. THANK GOD FOR MY ENT who thoroughly evaluated and discovered I had a CSF leak (spinal fluid leaking from the brain through the sinus cavity) I now have to get surgery but first a spinal tap, which must be done by a neurologist. I highly recommend going through the John Hopkins Network who is now correcting Dr. Sims oversight. DO NOT GO TO THIS NEUROLOGIST OR THIS PRACTICE! read more

Two months after my procedure at CNS they still haven't faxed the results to my doctor despite multiple calls from my doctor's office and myself. Someone please wake up over there! Everything's at a standstill in my care until I get these results - something I've explained to CNS, but they don't care. Horrible call center.This practice has farmed out their call center to India. Spoke with several different men whose accent was so thick I could not understand them as well as them not understanding me. After much struggle I made an appointment. After reading many negative reviews about this practice including ones regarding the care that was received from the doctors I decided to cancel my appointment. The call center could not find my appointment. When asked why I was canceling I told them I did not feel comfortable with the call center and that they seem to not get anything correct and that I knew their center was farmed out to India. I was then called a racist . To which I replied that if this practice was worth anything they would keep jobs in the U.S.A.! read more

Have been a patient of Dr. Rafique for around three years. Decided to get another opinion from Dr.Burke who is in the same practice because Dr. Rafique didn't seem to pay much attention to what was going on. He would send me wrong medications in all the time and my seizures were still not under control. Upon first appt Dr. Burkes bedside manner was terrible. He didn't speak much and seemed annoyed when I was asking him stuff. He was upset that I didn't have records with me although I did give the office all the information to get it from the previous practice I was at and they had not done their job to get the information. Move forward he decided to do an EEG. I scheduled and appt with him to review the results. As soon as he walks in he sits and goes about typing and doesn't really speak to me. He then asked if someone had called me or emailed me about my results. I told him no. That's the purpose of the appt. He tells me" it's normal, anything else I can do for you" I told him yes ! What does that mean?! I mean I have had seizures uncontrolled for several years with previous abnormal eeg studies. He states that I may still have seizures just that the eeg didn't capture it during the time of the eeg. I asked what I should do about my medication? Should I switch increase decrease or stop since my seizures still happen frequently. He said I don't know! He said you have had this condition for almost 20 years before coming here what do you want me to do. I have no records on you. He was so rude. He refused to do anything for me. Told me I don't know who referred you to me but go back to Dr.Rafique got up and walked out of the room. I was so shocked I left crying. I have no clue what to do for my seizures now. I have to find another neurologist because this guy was the biggest jerk. If he wasn't going to help me figure out what was wrong he shouldn't have even seen me twice and done an eeg. This place sucks. I have never been treated so badly. I wish I could sue someone for treatment this bad. It's not fair to be in such a vulnerable situation and someone completely blow you off with a serious health condition. read more

After reading the reviews on the CNS for Frederick and Hagerstown looks like God did me a favor by them cancelling my appointment. Just dont get how a a patient that has seizures cant get seen after waiting two months for their appt. They call the day of and say sorry your doctor is leaving early. My doctor came in with student and tried to show off to the point where his bedside was so incredibly rude. After my appointment he and his staff told me to call if I had any problems. Tried to call the doctor office, no voicemail set up for after hours. Next day I called to only be told that my doctor is was unreachable and there was nothing they could do. Been a patient for over 20 years and have always received the same outstanding care each visit. The check in process is fast and efficient, and if any new forms are needed, they explain why. I've been addressed by all as Mr or Sir and I hear other patients addressed the same way. My wait time has been no longer than 10 minutes no matter when I visit. while with Dr. Bakker he listens very closely to my concerns, and he will ask some questions, then he provides some options for improving or maintaining my health. He does offer alternative suggestions for care if I am interested. He has always asked if any medications need refills. When he walks me to the exit door, he Thanks me personally for my business. He reminds me if I have any questions or concerns just call. Why would I look for any other provider with service like this. I do visit at least twice a year. read more

This office is completely incompetent and unprofessional. I would urge patients seeking quality care to stay far, far away for your own mental health. Given the level of extreme incompetence I witnessed today, I will be seeking a second opinion from another neurologist just to be safe. I have had two appointments with Dr. Martin in Germantown. The first appointment he was nearly an hour late. I did not mention anything that time, although it made me very late for work. I drove an hour to be at the office, fighting the same traffic as everyone else, and honored my commitment to the appointment. This doctor and office do not honor their commitments. The second appointment, I again arrived promptly (10 minutes early) to my appointment to find the office closed and dark. I waited 40 minutes in the lobby until someone showed up to open the office, 30 minutes after my appointment should have started. I asked her if the doctor was even there and she said yes. I then asked why if he was there was I left standing in the lobby for forty minutes. Caught in her silly, transparent lie, the assistant had to admit that the doctor was of course not in the office but said he would be there in 5 minutes. Ten minutes later, she admitted it would be another fifteen minutes. It is now forty five minutes past my appointment time. I asked to speak to a manager. The assistant insisted that she did not know the name or number of her manager. Given her dishonesty that had already been demonstrated, she was almost certainly telling another ridiculous lie right to my face. Keep in mind also this whole morning I had been calling the Frederick office, which was also supposed to be open. No one ever picked up. Ignorant of her manager's name or number, the assistant assured me that I would be called. I left, the doctor still not there, for an appointment that should have started an hour ago, because I have a job and needed to cut my losses from the waste of time and gas driving an hour to this appointment that was not honored. Five hours later, no one has called. I called the Frederick and Germantown office repeatedly, neither of which answer their phones. This office is a cesspool of incompetence and unprofessionalism and I will be filing formal complaints with both the MD Board of Physicians and the Office of Health Care Quality at the MD Health Department. read more

As a new patient going to the Silver Spring office, I found the Doctor Rafia didn't want to address the pain I was experiencing, instead wanted to address issues in my medical history and not the reason I came in for. Worst doctor I have ever been to. I have been suffering with a neurological disorder for over 20 years and since going to this practice, things have only gotten worse. Last I checked, doctors are supposed to help you get better - not worse! First of all, it took forever to even get them to answer the phone or return my many messages to schedule an appointment. And now, they still go days before answering phone calls or filling my prescriptions. Also, every time I have gone to pick up my prescriptions, the doctor has filled them wrong - leading to back-and-forth with doctor and pharmacy, ultimately leaving me without medications for up to over a week at times. I haven't been to a single appointment that didn't leave me waiting to see the doctor for over an hour, either... Honestly, seeing Dr. Rafiq has been hands down the worst medical experience of my life... but it is the only neurologist my insurance will allow me to see . Currently looking for one out of town though, will be worth ANY distance I must travel. read more

This review had absolutely nothing to do with any of the doctors at this office. My problem is with the staff. I was referred to this office by my primary doctor. They made me an appointment with one of their doctors. The doctor did not show up on my insurance company's website so I called my insurance company. I was told that my plan was an HMO and the doctor was on a PPO with them so if I saw this doctor everything would be strictly out of pocket. I called the office back and tried to switch doctors since they had others listed. The appointment lady basically refused to make me an appointment with any other doctor at the office. She repeatedly told me that my insurance company was wrong and that she was right, that this doctor was covered on my plan. Who was I supposed to believe? Regardless of who is right or wrong, she should have agreed to switch doctors per my request. Siince she repeatedly refused to switch doctors for me I gave up and cancelled my appointment and am taking my business elsewhere. read more
