Therapy should be at the base of a mental health office however it was not provided, only medications from a Nurse Practitioner who lacked in therapeutic skills. Possibly an LCSW or LMHC ( who I was denied to speak with) who work there are competent to provide therapy and actually work with people who need help (after all that is the reason for going there right?) however a Nurse is not nor are they properly trained to do anything but prescribe certain medications. However, depending on who you see, your experience of course may be different as I can only speak for myself.

By being a professional program that took up most of my time, I needed someone who can be flexible with timing and able to understand the stress of a rigorous professional program. This office is nice and clean inside with comfortable chairs and couches. The staff there are always professional and friendly. I never felt judged or out of place. I have visited offices before where the staff really seemed annoyed at the patients... Not here tho!! They seem to schedule their appointments wisely, so the waiting room is not overcrowded. And, there is rarely more than 3 people in the waiting room at a time. This allows for a very short wait to be seen. When I first met Dr. Aguilar, she seemed very professional and understanding of my issues. She was very willing to help get back on track and was very motivating as well. I feel like her diagnosis was correct. And, her treatment for me has been working incredibly well. Each visit, I feel that she is truly passionate about her profession and her patients. She also speaks Tagalog on top of English, so she could help Filipino people who may be lacking at high english skills as well. I use Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance, so I know that her office takes that insurance company. If someone is looking for a great mental health professional, I would highly recommend her! I have always been easily able to make appointments, change appointments and cancel if necessary. The support staff is incredibly helpful and always call back within a day to schedule routine appointments and have a great response time when it comes to crisis or urgent situations. I am a mental health counselor in Florida and Georgia with much experience working with many different professionals in the area of mental health and I find Soufayne Bourass to be among the best in this field. He is incredibly compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable in all areas of diagnosis and treatment. He also listens actively, giving the patient space to work through challenges while offering helpful insights with great empathy. He is always very flexible and willing to accommodate patients during crisis while also helping them develop skill sets that allow for more independent self regulation in the future. This company, specifically the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Soufyane Bourass, does not offer the level of care that one should expect from a healthcare provider. I had originally scheduled my appointment for 8:45am EST on 05/28/24 and Bourass called me the day before and asked me to come in at 8:00am EST instead. I drove 120 miles and arrived for the appointment at 7:50am EST; however, Bourass did not show up until 45 minutes later. The recepionist didn't even show up till 8:30am. It was very disrespectful to me and there was no apology nor compensation for my time. If I was late, there would have been an additional charge. To make matters worse, the total charge amount for a new patient is $347.62. None of which was covered by United Healthcare. I tried to resolve the billing issue through email with Bourass but he stated there was no issue and this is the way his company bills patients. He doesn't seem to understand the severity of this financial issue. I will not be returning to Soufyane Bourass or any member of Elite Psychiatry Specialist again. It took two weeks to get an appointment once I was released from the hospital. There was no sense that f responsibility from this office. If a suicide event doesn't merit returning call, I don't know what will. I had been loyal to my doctor but this was the last straw.
