Big 5-starz ***** to Mark and his crew for the total replacemennt of my moms' apartment floor-to-ceiling glass windows. From the initial visit we were SO impressed with their product line knowledge, advice on tinting, measurement accuracy to ensure the new panels ordered fit EXACTLY, etc. A major plus was his getting all city permits and handling final building inspector visit. Once onsite all furnishings were covered during the 3-4 day project; and Mark even gave my mother daily calls to summarize job progress (as she'd moved out temporarily). In summary, we are so happy with MODERN, energy effficient windows that will deflect hot summer sun, protect furnishings, and keep air / heating costs down. I am VERY confused by the quote I just received for a small vanity top piece of glass at near 30"x 20"X 1/4" with a 3" hole = a bit over $275 with the plain ol' smooth edge - beveled edge = near $350 ????? REALLY? I received 3 other quotes today all less than $80 for the same exact thing!!!!! I am wondering if their glass has a super special gold leaf liner they forgot to mention, because I really don't need the extra special price. CRAZY!!! read more

Hum... where do I start.... Giving them one star because the owner adjusted the price to compensate for the 1st estimator. I was REFERRED to this company by a well-respected window installer who has done quality work for me. I needed a window re-glazed so called for a phone quote and received it (Jan 10). They needed to get firm measurements so gave me a time-window for which I took off from work but the estimator didn't show up, not even a phone call. A second estimator showed up on a Saturday and measured the window, however he didn't bother to note the needed window trim/stay. I accepted their quote for which I paid 1/2 down and expected to hear from CGW in a week. Two weeks later (January 24) I emailed to get an ETA on the window and was told the window "had just come in". Coincidence? doubtful... The installers showed up as promised on Saturday but the "completed job" looked like something a child tried to install. Tons of silicon and the techs said it was "just fine". Not in my book... I was told they would need to order spacers. FEB 3 I received an email stating "Job has been completed." and was advised that my credit card would be charged for the second 1/2 of the payment. In an email on Feb 6 I was told the trim was on order and would be installed. Email on MARCH 6 (originated by me): "When we spoke on 2/27, you mentioned that the trim for my window would be in on 2/28 and you'd schedule someone to come out at that time. It's been 2 weeks and I've still not heard from CGW about an appointment. I would appreciate a call to schedule the trim installation." Same day I received another email: "I deeply apologies for letting my negligence, I have checked my schedule and I can send a technician today in the afternoon between 1-3pm or any time you maybe available between 8:30 and 3pm this week. I will accommodate you to your schedule. Once again I'm sorry for the inconvenience I have caused." And guess what...Tech shows up but turns out the "trim" was not the right part. It needed to be "Spacers". Email on March 13 (again originating from me) asking for ETA on the now-needed Spacers. No response.... Email on March 24 (this time originating from them) : "We have the stops and wanted to ask what time and day would you like us to stop by and install them." I emailed back on the same day saying I could accommodate them on Saturday April 1. Nothing... not a word. April 3 - finally, I called them (someone actually picked up) and was discussed arrangements. I was told they could access the window from the outside so I wouldn't need to be there. Just take the screen off. and someone will be there "tomorrow". Today is APRIL 5. My window still remains a wreck. I called today but the line was immediately "hung -up" (tried to go directly to the owner's line) read more

This was my second time using CGW, and it's also my last. Their product is okay, but their installation job is mediocre and their follow up is even worse. I've been promised about 5 appointments to follow up and have been given nothing but excuses. I suggest you find another glass company. I have been telling myself I would write a review about these guys for a long time. They have done amazing work and deserve a ton of praise. They have cut 3 pieces of glass for me now and I could not be happier with all of their work and service. They cut 2 pieces of glass to cover some antique table tops we have. One of the tables has a very ornate top and required a unique and custom piece of glass. I didn't think you could cut a piece of glass to perfectly fit this table top, but they did. It flawlessly fits into every nook and cranny of the table to not only look beautiful, but also ensure the woods is protected. They also came out and cut a new shower door for our home. The challenging part for them was that the hinges for the shower door were grouted into the wall, so the hinges could not move. They had to take precise measurements in order for the glass to fit into the existing hinges. They came out and took measurements right away. We didn't want to pay extra to have them install it, so we picked up the glass and held our breath while we were installing in for fear it may not fit. We were pleased when it slid right into place. They were responsive, timely, and their workmanship was exceptional. I would recommend them to anyone...and actually just referred them to a friend today. read more

First off I would like to say this review is long overdue. I work for a law office and was assigned the task of ordering a glass top for a new desk we had recently purchased. Our firm has gone to Comprehensive Glass Works in the past and have always been pleased with their high quality work, so I called them up to to set an appointment for an estimate. They were in the office to take the measurements a few days later. The glass was installed the next week, on time. A month later we noticed the corners of the glass were slowly chipping away on one end. We had never experienced this issue with their work on our other desks so I emailed Aimee Lopez about the chipping. I wasn't aware of any warranties on the glass but I contacted her anyways. I explained the situation and Aimee promptly responded that although CGW does not offer any warranties on breakage, they would happily replace the chipping pane at no charge to us and make some installation changes to prevent the damage from happening again. Our firm has always gone back to CGW for their superior quality but now we know they have the excellent customer service to match. I highly recommend CGW for any of your glass work needs. read more

I contracted with CGW thinking they were another company. However, the finished product and installation was beyond my expectations. I would have given 5 stars but for their shortfall in what I call customer service. I had to contact them twice, once by phone and once in person. And I felt they should've contacted me to let me know they were so busy they had to hold me off. While renovating our bathroom our contractor went with Comprehensive Glass Works for the shower door. They gave 4 days time frame. It took them 2 weeks. During the 2 weeks I had to call them multiple times and I was told they would get back to me and never did. Then finally I was told the first glass came in but was damaged so they had to send it back. They then called to the contractor to tell him that I was upset (no kidding)! After they came and fixed the shower glass, I noticed later that there were cracks in the grout. Eventually the tile guy told me that it was caused by the installation of the shower glass. They are not the cheapest around so I suggest you go with someone more professional. read more

CGW is great. We had a dog door installed in our sliding glass door. Tameem and Jorge were great to work with. They made sure that everything was to our satisfaction. We have dealt with other businesses that would put in the bare minimum of effort to get the job done. However, CGW was not like that and made sure that, if we had a concern, that is was taken care of promptly and efficiently. This was an 'everyday' type of job and CGW was tip top. CGW just completed a shower enclosure for me, and they did a fantastic job! First of all, when I requested an estimate, they followed up right away, and Marco was great about staying in touch with me. We scheduled the work, the installers arrived on time, and the work was completed promptly. The workmen were professional and did a top quality job. When my existing framed shower was removed, there was some discoloration on my marble. The workman diligently did all that they could to remove the stain, so that it would not show when the clear framless shower glass was installed. Kudos to them for their good workmanship! I'm very pleased with the work they did. I bought an antique dresser w/a mirror attached by the post. The mirror hard a lot of rounded edges, almost flower petals, and they did a fantastic job. They didn't think they could save the wooden backing on the mirror, but they did :) I will definitely use them again. Also, I called a lot of mirror places and no one said they could do it. Sorry to say this business does not stand behind their work at all. I build custom doors and have used them in the past with mixed results but my last experience left me looking for a new glass company. I ordered a quantity of specialty tempered glass panels for some custom doors I was building. The order was processed wrong and I received a product that was not what I ordered and could not use. Ok, I understand mistakes happen but by now I am past my deadline to get these made. it takes 2 days and constant phone calls from me to get them to at the very least re order the glass. a week later I call to find out when it is coming in and it turns out they had not even reordered it yet. now 2 weeks past my deadline. in the end they cost me 3 weeks on my dead line while I am trying to let the h... I'm sorry I am too frustrated to even finish explaining how bad this company is at communication and doing what is supposed to be their job. I shouldn't have to call a company and make sure they processed my order after they have already been paid in full. read more
