All was a waste of time because they didn't happen to mention they charge new patients $150!! They called it a co-pay. My insurance doesn't say anything about a co-pay. I wanted my time and gas because not only was I not told about a co-pay, but I didn't expect to pay $150. Most people would have like to know something like that before hand. Also when I left i the office back to get a better understanding of this "co-pay" and how they need to tell people up front because this is something they are charging and how my time was completely wasted they were rude as hell and unapologetic.

I am seriously in disbelief I was going to pick up my contacts and I called to see if they could of been run out to me because I do have a kid with special needs and the girl proceeded to say "it depends if we have patients or not" I explained to her that I was thinking it was a fast in and out thing I didn't have my kids stroller with me and I didn't wanted to leave him in the car she proceeded to say "well it doesn't take long to pick up the contacts either". She's very attentive, really listens to your concerns, is very prompt to help you with what you need and most importantly, is very empathetic and shows genuine concern. I got right in to see my optometrist, Dr. Colby Beats. I can't say enough good things about her as well. She got that torn lens right out and is always concerned about helping me in any way she can. I've been coming here for years and would have given this place low reviews in the past because the front desk was not great and you left feeling like they didn't care (although both optometrists are great). Give this place another chance - if Claire (and Dr Beats) are here, they'll get you taken care of and you won't be disappointed!

You said "she", I'm a patient of Chris McDaniel. But I understand that you feel things have changed. They have. And like you, I don't understand it, can't put a finger on it, can't verify a motive. You said, "seemed quite rigid and strange to not be accommodating". Okay we agree, something's awry. But, from my viewpoint, it's still a fun place with the artful displays, the inspired wall paintings, an optometrist who knows sign language, medical competency, etc. Perhaps you'll rethink leaving.

But she was angry the whole time. She never said the wrong thing. But you could just tell that she absolutely hated us. I didn't like that they kept trying to sell us on this retinal scan. Multiple times. Our insurance didn't cover it. And I did my research about it online. We're considered low risk patients and didn't need to do it. I stayed strong and didn't do it even though she kept saying I did need it. So then when it was my husband's turn, she told him that I didn't need the scan, but he definitely did. So he caved and paid for it. We got a text message requesting we leave a review. . And I didn't do it because I was not happy with the service here. But nothing really bad happened. But now I wish I had filled it out because it was a bad experience. Once my husband and I really had a chance to compare experiences, I realize that we had a terrible time here.

To be fair, they had already copped an ATTITUDE after i called in for advice on the contacts she had popped in there for me, because i expressed an interest, and not being USED to them, had some questions about getting them in & out, told her i'd slept with one. All of a SUDDEN she gets all 'concerned' & i'm told i needed to come in & pay them $35 for lessons/advice because she was concerned abt her NAME going on the script? This is NOT someone that i would entrust again. SHE put them in there in the first place & NOW she's concerned? for THAT kind of money just for 5 minutes of advice, you'd think they'd have offered me a CERTIFICATE for the money like TCC does, lol. I've never heard of an optometrist who refuses to consult the patient about proper USAGE of the products she's selling, including FITTING YOUR NEW GLASSES as PART of the SERVICE. They're G R E E D Y, & not HELPFUL, which i fully expect from any 'professional' that i PAY to do business with.
