I have been a patient at this clinic for over six years, and I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience with the staff . Very professional and understanding even when I'm the one inconveniencing them and my physician. Dr. Mullen has been my physician for almost ten years. He was my physician at the previece clinic he worked at. He is the reason I switched to CCS . In my family mental health is not something talked about. Dr.Mullen really helped me, he has said things that have really stuck with me. And the way he talks to you in a calm, confident tone. When I was taking care of my mom when she was going thru chemo only to be told she had two month. The grief was to much for me. But Dr. Mullen called me on several occasions to make sure I was ok. I had a really disappointing experience with CCS. My prescriber, Kristina Shaefer, left the practice without any transition plan, and I felt completely dropped as a patient. I rely on a controlled medication for chronic pain, and because no one at CCS stepped in to help with my refill, I ended up in the hospital dealing with withdrawal symptoms. Communication was slow--sometimes taking 4-5 days to hear back--and the front desk made multiple mistakes trying to schedule me with someone new. The whole situation felt chaotic and unprofessional. I've since switched to a different network where the prescribers are responsive and actually attentive to their patients, and the difference is night and day. I really hope CCS improves continuity of care and patient communication, because no one should be left hanging the way I was. read more

If you are looking for a warm feel to mental health, look no further. Staff & providers do their best to be attentive to all patients and give their all in providing quality care. Most admin are 100% bilingual, which you don't always find at mental health clinics. It really is a wonderful place to get the help you need. read more

NUMEROUS ISSUES with this company: Number 1: ADA ALERT! If you're Deaf or Hard of Hearing, run. Run far! They will refer to you as having "hearing problems" and refuse to hire an interpreter. My Deaf 10 year old was refused access to a live interpreter and this mama isn't happy. There was a miscommunication on suicidal ideation and THAT'S why an interpreter is necessary. Number 2: If you have a child that's diagnosed elsewhere, bring paperwork because these arrogant doctors think that they can re-assess your child for a different diagnosis. My 11 year old son did NOT know he has Autism when we visited, until the psychologist asked him 3 quick questions, then said, "it doesn't seem like you have Autism." Again, clinically diagnosed with ASD and ADHD, by a neuropsychologist, an evaluation that's an 8 hour appointment! The same happened with my 10 year old, this doctor looked me dead in the eye and explained to me the symptoms of ADHD. I HAVE ADHD, dude, I know! Additionally, I have 3 kids on the spectrum, I ALSO know what that looks like. Number 3: They are only in it for the money. I cancelled 22 hours in advance, it's not my fault no one checks the voicemails after hours. They wanted to charge me $100 for canceling the next morning, 7 hours before my son's appointment. I dragged 4 kids into that office appointment. Unproductive to my 10 year old who needed quietness to hear because these people won't hire an interpreter. read more

While I had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Kestenburg and Maria Valdez LCPC. the office management and staff are the pits. I have been a patient for 10 years. Suddenly in 2019, the office had issues with adding another practice that was in network for my insurance (previously I was out of network and my insurance paid). My insurance would not pay because my doctor and therapist were not in network and not listed for the office's contract with United Healthcare, the office was now in network. (Never had been, so this was a big change). In 2020, during pandemic, I started talking to the office manager about the insurance issue. My insurance company says I owe nothing because the office had a contract with my insurance and did not follow it. My husband and I spent 30 hours on this issue (during the panemic) with insurance office and CCS. So then, Insurance won't pay for previously submitted appointments b/c my providers were not on the United Healthcare list as in network. CCS said that my practitioners would be approved by insurance in 90 days. I call for appts, may of 2021 and I get a call back saying I can't see my Dr and therapist, that I have to pick someone else. And they send me bills for services that my insurance company says I am not to pay. So,even after ten years, they will boot you if your insurance issues are too hard to deal with, even when it is the office's fault for not keeping up their contractual obligations or even bothering to find out why insurance denied my claims until I figured it out with insurance. Still, they are billing me for payments the insurance wouldn't pay and insurance is telling me not to pay them. Now this leaves my therapist out quite a bit of money. Now, I can't even talk to therapist to ask for recommendation or to pay her directly for what she lost b/c of her inept office staff. So, if you are not using insurance, it could work for you. If you have a problem with insurance, they will do nothing to figure it out and make it your fault. read more

We've had a positive experience in the 6 years we've been coming. We've worked with Dr. Daniel Martinez and NP Erin Petrusiak and more recently another nurse practitioner, Davita. As others noted there are typically medical students involved in our child's care which has been ok with us. It is more challenging to be followed by multiple professionals- students or residents and nurse practitioners- rather than just the doctor - and appointments need to be booked months in advance which seems to the norm in this field- but so far so good. My child had received excellent care and we are grateful to the whole team at CCS. read more

Dr. Saftar is absolutely hands down, one of the best psychiatrist ever. He takes time to listen to you, and offers straight forward advice. He is beyond intelligent, and I trust he always has my best interest in mind. I've had experience with two separate doctors at this practice. One is virtually 15-25+ minutes late every appointment, I'm fully aware that there are emergencies and other situations, however, to be that late and to see me for 5-10 minutes, something else must be going on. I'm not sure if its scheduling, horrible time management, or laziness, but each appointment is scheduled to be 20 mins. I wait 20 minutes for a 10 minute appointment, something is wrong here. The second doctor kept me on a medication with some serious side effects. To the point of me falling in school every single day. He reduced the amount around 4-5 times before having to switch doctors. The lowest dosage still had the same impact, and yet he still wanted me to be on the same medication. The therapist I have seen has done a really good job, however it is time to move on. Especially given the negative experience with both doctors, I would not recommend this practice read more

At this point I can NOT recommend this Doctor office. The staff is rude and acts like you are disturbing them when you call. The Nurse Practitioner that my daughter sees is so removed and has ni compassion whatsoever. She couldn't care any less. Just a number to her. My daughter ran out of medication. They have not returned any of her calls to schedule an appointment and have NOT replied to several attempts from CVS to refill her prescriptions. CVS is wonderful in trying to reach this office. When you have an appointment to "check in" with the Nurse Practitioner it is a 10 minute appointment and you are charged $150. With COVID it is hard to change practices because the influx of new patients others have. I'm hoping to get her an appointment soon with a new Doctor office. She has been out of medication causing her headaches, dizziness, nausea and shakiness and this office does NOT have any concern for her well-being. The Dr. that is the " Supervising Provider" is Daniel Martinez. He obviously is another person in this practice who does not care. Just collecting money providing horrible employees. I have had a better year, since I have been seeing Dr Kestenberg. The atmosphere in the office is comfortable, there is ease in scheduling and availability after work hours. I always feel he is pleasant,100% present, knows how to listen and is never burned out. I agree with his insights and thought provoking style of questions and/ or conversation. Our appointments include medication management thus I have had good success in my work life balance. My general disposition on a daily basis has improved and I leave feeling well supported and encouraged. His expertise care and level of trust is what ultimately keeps me going back. Of note, for these reasons might I suggest you consider this Psychiatrist if you are not getting any better or are not feeling good about your current treatment plan and or medications. read more

I am a new patient at this practice, have been here twice now. I really like Dr. Martinez and would like to continue to see him. However, I do have some issues with his practice: 1) The first thing I noticed both of my visits here is that he has a large number of medical students that are working for him. I think it is great to be able to offer students a place to learn hands on, but I feel like the majority of the services that I am paying top dollar for are being conducted by people who are in training. Both times I came here, I was initially seen by a student who took vitals and asked me some basic information. Fine. But then, both times that I saw Dr. Martinez he had medical students sit in on our sessions, which was a little awkward and medical students take charge of the follow up instructions with me. Each time they were different students. 2) For my second appointment, I was called the late afternoon before my appointment the next day to remind me of the appointment. I didn't answer my phone, so they left a message. I realized that I couldn't make the appointment, but when I called the number back the number didn't work. I meant to find another way to get in touch later, but then forgot. Because I missed the appointment, they charged me $100. I do realize that if you don't show up for an appointment many doctors will charge you a penalty. However, I think this is pretty steep and when your phone system isn't working for me to cancel I don't think I should have to be responsible. Overall, I do like Dr Martinez. I can't speak for any of the other doctors here, but I do feel like the practice isn't that great. A good psychiatrist is almost impossible to find in the suburbs and if you do, they are rarely taking new patients. It is a shame that the practice isn't managed better. read more

I am/was a patient of Dr. Craig Kestenberg. The first meeting I had with him went well, he allowed my husband to join me to make me feel more comfortable. I was having a hard time accepting the fact that I needed help, that there was something wrong. We chatted and got to know one another and he was going to send me off with no medication to help with my unique attacks. With teary-eyes I managed a low dose of something that helped me sleep and made my attacks a bit more bearable. Everything seemed to be going well at my second visit, but he seemed to ask me the same questions he did when I first met him. It was as if he didnt pull up my file and look everything over to refresh his memory of he next client. This bugs me because someone who sets out to seek help for what ever issues they are having, Doesnt matter if its a regular routine visit with your primary care doctor, you want to have that connection. Where you can trust that other person. He kept calling me by my first name, even when I told him to call me by a nickname my mother has called me my entire life. At my third visit, he called me back and we went to the office. Yet again going over questions before he even had my file in front of him. He brought up of I have chosen medications which he said at the first visit we would talk about once he got to know me better. He even asked me if I found a Therapist, which again he said he would find for me. Someone who would handle my "case". He told me to call at the end of the week with a recommendation for one. Today its been TWO WEEKS since he finally returned my calls. Which by the way I called Twice, and told the nurse that it was crazy that I had to remind my DOCTOR, someone who is supposed to help you or make up healthy. He didnt have any recommendations or anything about at therapist for me. I waited TWO WEEKS for him the shrug and pretty much say "I got nothing." I dont recommend Dr. Craig Kestenberg. He seems like a very nice guy, but he needs to connect with his clients and put forth effort to help you get better. Let just say I'll be canceling my next Appointment and will again start my search for someone who I feel actually (and pardon my french) gives a shit about my health. read more

I would highly recommend this practice. They are really easy to work with and are very helpful when you need them. The office is comfortable and everyone we have dealt with there is exceptionally kind and caring. That really helps when you are feeling nervous in the first place! The doctor we work with is very knowledgable and takes time to explain things so that we can understand them. I feel like we are in good hands. At one point, we worked with a therapist there, too, who was also very caring and helpful. I would definitely recommend this practice to friends and family. read more

I would never recommend that anyone utilize the services of this mental health provider. They are absolutely horrible. They are more concerned about their policies than the mental health of their patients. I was recently out of work and needed to meet with a therapist because I was soon to be out of medicine. I tried to make an appointment, and they wanted to charge me $300.00 for a new patient fee. I asked the clinician to reach out to me to work out an agreement so that I could maintain on my medicine. I never heard back from the clinician or practice. I was feeling off because of not being on my medication, so I went into the office. I pleaded with them to see a therapist so that I could get my medicine. They said I had an outstanding balance and that they would not see me until the bill was made current. I offered to pay the outstanding balance on the spot, and they told me that they wouldn't let me see anyone because they don't do same-day appointments. Again, I shared that I was uneasy because of not being on my medicine and they told me that it went against their policy to see me. They asked could I come back the next day or later in the week. I could not believe a mental health provider would do this to a person in need. They didn't know my state of mind. I could have left the facility and hurt myself or someone else. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, your safety depends on it. I am going to go onto every social media and digital review platform to blast these unprofessional and lack of patient care group of sad mental health providers. read more

I am a patient of Dr. Kestenberg, who is employed through Comprehensive Clinical Services. Dr. Kestenberg has worked with me for at least the past two years, prescribing medications for me. He sees me approximately 20 minutes per session. Recently, he also visited me at Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville; where he changed my medications to fit my needs. He was highly respected by the staff at Linden Oaks as he worked there for a number of years prior to Comprehensive Clinical. Dr. Kestenberg has a great sense of humor and loves discussing sports (which I like also). The only reason I did not give him five stars is because he changed one medication for me (which later proved to be a wise move on his part). I highly respect his opinions on what medications are prescribed me and highly recommend him as a psychiatrist. read more

If you are looking for a mental health provider with your best interests in mind, keep looking. They are constantly running behind, yet will penalize you for being one minute late. The office staff is extremely rude and unhelpful if you have questions, so your questions and concerns will go unaddressed. They do not allow you to have a prescription faxed to your pharmacy, so if your doctor is unavailable for days, or even weeks, you may go without your script(s). When they recently stopped working with my well-known insurance company, they failed to tell me until I showed up for my appointment. read more

I have been through at least 4-5 child psychiatrists and so far Dr. Martinez seems the most concerned with my daughter as a person and not just a med. script.He always asks if it is okay if a med student stays in on the session. My daughter has been through so many doctors and facilities it doesn't matter to her,and I say the more people who would like to get into this profession the better.I never wait more than a few minutes to see someone. My therapist doctor Mercedes talks about her family in sessions and picks up calls in the sessions as well. I had to be the therapist about how to allow her son to express himself and got mad because " I " was teaching her about parenting. She thinks her beliefs matter more then her clients beliefs. She told me I have social problems that I can't interact properly because she used the my diagnoses on my social problems. If you don't like her beliefs she baby's your beliefs. read more
