Well, Yelp! wins again. Dr. Steven is amazing. If you second guess why he's at the top of the…read moreBest Of lists, well then you owe it to yourself (and your spine) to give him a ring. I called and left a message about hoping to get in quickly for a consult and an adjustment due to some back strain from moving/biking/life. However, being in meetings on a Monday and Tuesday meant little time to actually try to schedule something - can't be stepping out to make calls constantly. Dr. Steven was able to work with my schedule over text, and within a matter of minutes, I had an appointment that fit my schedule, and he gave me some (very reasonable) cost for services. I wasn't in the quaint waiting room before Dr. Steven came in to get me. On time. His demeanor was very casual and welcoming, which I love. I had a chiropractor once whose mannerisms were so erratic, I would always get nervous he was going to snap something or trip over his own feet (he was good, though, but man, just made me nervous). We went to his office, and he sat down and listened to me. Just sitting down and conversing with me meant a lot - no jittery movements, no multitasking, no BS. He took a great history and did some test movements to make sure he wouldn't injure anything before doing an adjustment. His adjustments lasted a fair bit longer than I have had in the past, as I usually get a quick crack or two then shoved onto a traction machine or some other contraption. Not Dr. Steven. Using only his handiwork and one handheld tool, he manipulated, massaged, stretched, moved, and then adjusted me. He educated me on some of my body's natural mobility, and the rationales for why I might be feeling some of my pains. After our appointment, he gave me some GREAT tips on how to improve my pain and spine health at home, and offered me to just message him and set up another appointment. In today's hectic world, finding someone who is accommodating, flexible, and skillful is a daunting task. Add on Dr. Steven's excellent demeanor, knowledge, and fair pricing - and you've got yourself a fantastic doctor. Thanks again, Dr. Steven - I will be back!

I've been seeing Dr. Ortiz (Landon) for about a decade, and he works wonders. I'm surprised I never…read moreyelped them before! I'm fortunate enough to never have had musculoskeletal trauma, but I've spent years hunched over a computer and using smartphones. Obviously, my posture and alignment got out of whack. What a difference chiropracty has made! For the first several months, he saw me twice a week. After a while, we went to once a week, then less often. I moved out of Asheville five years ago, but he'll see me every time I visit! Since I was here two years ago, they've given up the location on Church St. and now operate a mobile clinic and accept appointments at their new "permanent" location, but they can also travel to you. Gardens of Health no longer accepts insurance, but their rates are quite reasonable.

Dr. Landon and his wife Abigail are an amazing duo at Gardens of Health. I was hit recently by a…read moredrunk driver that caused major whiplash and irritation in my back and hip. I am currently in the second week, working with GHC everyday and I can feel such a difference already. Dr. Landon is very knowledgeable and professional, while still being very friendly and comforting. His office has a traction table, he makes adjustments with an activator, with a drop table, and manually, and he also has an inversion table (which I am a HUGE fan of!). I was very leery of going to the chiropractor 1.) The last one I went to had a weird vibe that could be interpreted as unprofessional and 2.) I'm a massage therapist, therefore a huge advocate of massage, and I had little chiropractic knowledge. My visits with Gardens of Health have been so very informative, and he told me exactly what he was doing and why as we went along, which helped me to relax. I'm so happy I gave it a chance! I love everything about Gardens of Health, including their salt soaks and plant based body butter that they make in house! If you're new to chiro or are looking for a friendly, professional atmosphere that leaves you feeling refreshed, you definitely have to come check it out! Tell them Lolli sent you! ;)

Chiropracty is the type of healing work that for me requires a great deal of trust. Dr. Petersen is such a trustworthy and healing presence - sensitive in using touch to understand misalignments, and able to confidently perform what have been in my case just the right adjustments, and very effectively addressing long-standing issues with my neck and back. I'm thrilled to have found her, and to know that when certain issues arise in my body I have a gifted healer to turn to.

But my family, who personally had great treatments by Dr. Petersen, gave me a gift certificate to see her. I'm a stubborn stoic though, and it still took me several months to go. But tired of their nagging, and gift certificate in hand, I made an appointment and went. Surprised my back was somewhat better after the first adjustment, I made another appointment. Today my back's appreciably better with less pain and more flexible. She loosened and adjusted my neck again too. It was like a block was removed and I can turn my neck without the pinch I had before. So I'm grateful for my nagging family, and for the talented Dr Kirsten Petersen. I'm making more appointments now because I like this healing trend She's giving me that I didn't think possible. Thanks, Dr Petersen!
