I have always been afraid of chiropractors, and unsure of their effectiveness. I suffer from chronic back pain that I have treated through exercise and massage therapy/body work since pulling away from medication in 2009. I walked in to Blue Ridge to get information about their massage therapists as I am new to the area...The receptionist was very friendly and willing to answer all of my questions. To my surprise, she handed me a gift certificate for a free consultation, posture/wellness check, and 30-minute massage. Apparently they had a Groupon deal running at the time...still I was hesitant. I decided I would give it a try, so I got an adjustment that day. My neck had been hurting for weeks and I felt like there was a bungee cord attached at the base of my skull to my shoulders. I got the adjustment, and strangely enough felt much better. The adjustment was followed by ice to help the soreness that I had been feeling in my neck, and I felt better for weeks.
The real surprise was when I returned to cash in my gift certificate. I expected to get a spiel that I would hear at a used car lot about how I would need to keep coming back. However, that was not the case. Dr. Mark is very knowledgeable, but most importantly he seems to truly care about the well-being of those he sees. He explained that once the body is aligned, it learns to heal itself because it is working at full capacity and that at that point I will be good to go. Health issues can be very costly, however, the results I have seen at Blue Ridge have been long-lasting and well worth the money. The best part of it all is that it isn't forever. I fully intend on using them when anything comes up in the future, but until then I will definitely be returning at least once a month for a massage with George-one of the best I've ever had.
Thanks! Hope this was helpful... read more
