What really makes Dustin truly outstanding and significantly better than other contractors is his determination to provide the highest quality results. Dustin is personally involved with all phases of construction and is very meticulous in his work. He works shoulder-to-shoulder with his employees and subcontractors to ensure their work conforms to his high standards. For instance, Dustin was not satisfied with the way a siding subcontractor was installing Hardiplank siding on our addition and had them remove and reinstall the siding. As far as our experience with contractors goes, we had another local, well-known contractor give us a great sales pitch about how they are going to watch over things and make sure everything is done right. Things were not done right and they were not here to watch most work in real-time like they said they would. Dustin does not let that happen. I appreciate the old-fashioned way of doing things, which is increasingly hard to find. Before I met Dustin Shaw, I had two previous favorite contractors in another state, and a few really horrible experiences. All this being said, Dustin is the rare find in this day and age -- he is young and yet "old-school" in every regard. He is the third generation of builders in his family and grew up learning the trade, and it shows. His work ethic is the highest, and he sets the highest possible bar for the quality of work that he (and any subcontractors he hires) delivers. I hired Dustin to renovate my favorite home of all, my childhood home, and he exhibited such care and understanding throughout. I wasn't in town during the project, but I had complete peace of mind that all would be done as it should be. Dustin's workmanship is beautiful, and as importantly, he has the highest degree of integrity. Since that project I have hired him to renovate several of my family's rental properties, and have recommended him to anyone I meet who is looking to build new construction or renovate. His drywall, painting, and tilework were all amateurish, which isn't good for a bathroom. His customer service sucked. My daughter noticed the smell of marijuana when his helper was taking a break. My son and daughter noticed he was using us all against each other so he could charge more (They own the house, I paid for the service). I paid him what he wanted just to get him out of the house. His word is not a bond. If you use him always get a change order.
