It was a pleasure working with my therapist, Jerry. He was very patient but also knew exactly when to push me a little harder to ensure progress. I am happy to say that Mr. Bill has found a happy home there with Gumbee. Thank you for the excellent care. Cheers, Darren Schlenvogt

After my reverse shoulder replacement--performed by a top Los Angeles surgeon--I continued my…read morerehabilitation in the desert. Only eight months earlier, I'd had a rotator cuff repair by the same doctor, so I knew what excellent physiotherapy looked like. The care I'd received in Los Angeles was professional, individualized, and highly attentive. Unfortunately, my experience in the desert was the complete opposite. From the start, the therapist showed little interest in my case. She never asked about my surgeries or recovery progress and simply placed me in a corner to perform generic wall exercises. She set an egg timer, left for several minutes, and returned only when the time was up. Some of the exercises--like wall crawls--were completely inappropriate for my stage of recovery and could have caused real harm. When I told my Los Angeles physiotherapist what they had me doing, she was stunned. The desert facility operated more like a franchise focused on volume and profit than on real patient care. I should mention that the front desk receptionist was kind and helpful. When I later called to explain I'd been wrongly sent to collections--despite having already paid--she was just as surprised and agreed that it was outrageous. Still, even she never asked how my recovery was going, which says a lot about the lack of genuine follow-up or personal concern throughout my treatment experience. As for the financial side, it was equally frustrating. I have top-tier insurance that fully covers my treatments, plus a secondary policy for co-pays. The staff, however, couldn't be bothered to contact my second insurer. I had to handle reimbursement on my own, and despite proof of payment through canceled checks, I was turned over to collections for a $30 balance I was never even notified about. The entire experience was mishandled from start to finish.

I would not recommend Premier. My sister is here for physical therapy, occupational therapy &…read morespeech therapy as she is post hemorrhagic stroke & dementia. I will say, the therapists are WONDERFUL! The admin means well, I just don't think they have a clue as to what really is going on? The nursing staff is so incompetent and really don't care to say the least. They have no clue about the patient; not the diagnosis, not the plan of care, not even the medication which is scary as hell. They pass the meds, but don't know what it is for? Basic nursing 101. My sister was at home before ending up in the hospital for generalized weakness. We thought she may have had another stroke? She didn't thank God. So she went here to strengthen her body. I would not allow her to be here if my hired caregiver that we had at home didn't agree to go to the facility Monday thru Friday. She stays on top of everything she can there. The weekends are a hideous joke!! When I go in she has someone else's clothes on, she is soaked. (She has always been continent of bowel & bladder at home) I asked them to take her to the bathroom every 2-3 hrs and she won't be wet. I guess that is too much for them and it's easy for them to sit in a wet brief...I wash her clothes so they should NEVER leave the room. Inevitably they have lost most all her clothes I brought? As well as the hygiene items; hairbrush, toothbrush, lotions...gone? I was with her at admission, there was no assessment only paper work for the family to sign. I asked to see the medications and told the girl(who I am sure was not a nurse) of the necessary medication changes - the same regimen we have at home. She said, oh the doctor is the only one who can make changes... Ok can we get the doctor in here or give him a call? No - he will be in sometime.? Many times I go in she is sitting in her room in a wheelchair in front of a TV with no sound, shades drawn. I take her out to MD appointments, lunch, usually shower her & clean her up. This facility is only 99 beds. Staff everywhere, I mean what is the problem? The director of nursing is a RN I've seen twice. I'm guessing she doesn't know how to run a staff? I was a CNA many, many years ago before I was a RN. Usually I would think there is a full report about the patients that you are caring for; a routine for adls. Her teeth don't get brushed, her face isn't washed unless my caregiver or myself is there. This is really basic stuff. Anytime I have brought anything to their attention the answer is always, "oh I'm sorry"? I am so terribly disappointed in this facility. It could be a good place if it wasn't for the nursing staff. Maybe they need to hire more qualified people? I don't have the answer but I know for sure that they need more training & direction. In my mind that falls on the director of nursing.

I managed to displace 2 ribs whilst on a trip from Phoenix to Palm Springs. Where did I turn? Yelp! So a gigantic thank you to Yelp for this and many other helpful recommendations. Through it I found Desert on Call Chiropractic. I phoned at 9 am, they were able to see me at 2 and by 3:30 I had found relief. There was a small wait upon arrival, but once in they examined me quickly, determined the cause of my pain, placed heat and tens on me, gave me the best massage of my life and then utilized the Soft Wave treatment on me. Dr Rahn is the amazing Doctor that helped me and directed my care while I was there. I returned the next day for a follow up and went throught the same treatment and had an equally awesome massage on my back to loosen the tight muscles. Doctor Rahn has been through his own pain and musculature issues and is kind, accurate with his assesments and his adjustments and happy to share his vast knowledge with each patient. Thank you Isabel and Kareen and Andrea at the front desk, Ramon and Skky the case managers that took care of my intake and Frank and Jessica the therapists that helped put me back together. Please note that I have never been able to handle any type of massage before--it has had the opposite effect on me, so I was pleasantly surprised how helpful the tecnique was.
