If you need to get your rabbit checked you need to see Andrew. He is our first choice for a vet for rabbits.

There will always be a learning curve, and i am an anxious dog mom to say the least. I've always had the most amazing and compassionate care from all the staff at this facility. They always answer all my questions, ensure that I have received all the answers I am looking for. You can tell as soon as you walk in that the staff love what they do, and are passionate about animals. My loyalty will stay with Weste Animal Hospital for all my fur baby's needs.

However; Dr. Redgrave makes up for it, as he is not only knowledgeable and timely, he saved my dogs life, as 6 months ago, we were not sure how the out come turn out. Everything he told me was clear evidence of competence with his advise towards wellness, as she was 12 years then, and had a mass tumour removed from her nose. He not only removed it. He was knowledgeable enough to explain to me how it may or may not unfold. As it's now June of 2021, during a pandemic of unruly predictions of our future, never mind a dogs future in these hectic times. She so far has not only survived the surgery, she will be 13 years this Oct. Shes still loves her walks, and enjoys every morsel of her new lean protein diet, and enjoying life more then ever. As she has a few respiratory issues before the tumour, and with Dr. Redgrave's advise was bang on throughout prior surgery, and after. We take each day like it could possibly be her last, with love, exercise, good diet, and hope she will be with us for more lasting tomorrow's. As for time now has given us 6 more months with my baby, and I appreciate Dr. Redgrave, and all Weste Animal Hospital has done for her, and us! Be patient with this busy Animal Hospital located in Lawrencetown. As they maybe busy for a reason. Thank-you, to all of you, and a very special thank-you to Dr. Redgrave! I not only recommend them, I so respect them on being one of the most reputable Animal Hospitals in city or out. Their rates are more then fair, not sure why anyone would dispute this, as I would think maybe they require more study, and experience on their own accord! Terri H.

The person recommending me said they never felt like Acres were up for a money-grab. (this is a common complaint in veterinary care and why I was looking for a new vet to begin with.) I feel thankful that I have found them. The reception is very welcoming, and Dr. Yazer is gentle and kind, and never makes us feel rushed. He takes the time to chat about all aspects of pet care. He took the time to get to know my shy and sometimes-nervous-with-new-people dog, so that now she is completely comfortable and he can perform any procedure. If he tells me we need something, we trust him. Great to have him on our side!

As a member of society that has a legitimate mask exemption, I understandsome places may not accept it. Which I've never argued at any establishment, I'll just take my business elsewhere. I've never argued the topic, but there are more professional ways to decline service than asking for personal medical diagnosis when you're just going to decline service anyway. This is especially true when an employee asks me "why" I have an exemption. There's personal, private, confidential. Not an appropriate inquiry from a receptionist. Even though an offer for a phone consultation was offered after the fact, I declined because of the inappropriate questioning of my mask exemption. Medical conditions/diagnosis can be an upsetting and unpleasant topic for some and for showing zero compassion or an understanding of what isn't acceptable to ask, I give one star. I'd give less if I could.

After recently returning as a Snowbird from Florida and in the middle of our quarantine I needed…read morethe help of my vet at PetWorks in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. Early a.m. I phoned and the customer service answered I explained I'm in the middle of quarantine and I cannot leave my home and no one can come in my house and bring my pet in. all I wanted with some eardrops as one of my dogs had a recurring ear infection that happened last year from being in Florida and could I get that. She said leave it with her which I did.By late afternoon no one returned my call so I phoned she said that she would send a message to the vet again as no one has answered and she'll get back to me. She advised me that the vet may not Administer a prescription without seeing her. Again I repeated the same story I told her previously. The next day by 11 AM no one had called so I phoned again she said the vet said that because we haven't seen my dog since last July that I would have to bring her in. For the 3rd time I repeated my story and was now frustrated and said we are not supposed to go out we're not supposed to have anyone in because of the COVID-19 virus surely you have seen or heard how businesses have been going out of their way to help clients that are housebound and can't get out and they don't want them there spreading the virus . Do you really want this out there in The media that I cannot get ear drops for my dog without coming in! I'm flabbergasted. I hung up Shortly after the same girl calls back she says how are you feeling now? Now I feel patronized. She says after speaking with the vet we are going to release the meds this time. But in the future you will have to see a vet. I replied of course I understand that, I would expect that. She asked who would be picking it up and I could pay for it by credit card. I said yes I'll phone you back and let you know and then I'll pay. Later that same day someone calls up and says there's a prescription here ready for you and you will have to pay for it over the phone before someone can pick it up. I said who am I speaking to. No answer, and she continued to say it again and I said yes I understood that I told someone in the beginning that I would do that. At that point she replied look we're trying to help you. Again I said who am I speaking to? no answer. She started to speak again and I said please who am I speaking to finally she said Dr. Trudeau. I said you've been nothing but rude to me and patronize me from the very beginning. At that point I was angry frustrated. I told her I was going to report her to the veterinary colleges at that point she saidThat won't get you anywhere . I hung up I am writing this out of hurt and frustration that at this time of uncertainty and so much change I couldn't get ear drops for my dog . Not pain meds, ear drops I'm disheartened that it's come to this If anyone could let me know of a caring , team oriented veterinarian in the Halifax / Dartmouth area please message me

Their compassion is endless, I've always gotten a simple and clear cut answer to my questions regarding my dogs needs. I first came to the clinic for my dog Snickers, he had cancer... When it came time to let go, they were so loving toward Snickers and my family. Today we still have Ruth and Toby who visit the clinic for their check ups etc. even though Toby can be a little spicy, the area always so good to him :) and Ruthie acts like she's going to a friend's house, she loves it there! Thank you for everything you've done for my little family of dachshunds, we appreciate you all so very much. Chelsea

By that point, my cat was already doing much better, so I declined it. Fast forward to this week (October 22nd). I called about getting something for my cat's chin acne. The person who answered said someone would call me back before the end of the day. No one did. October 23rd, I called again. I was told my call wasn't returned because the doctor was in surgery. Fine -- I accepted that. I was told I'd hear back in a few hours. Still nothing. October 24th, I called yet again. Same story -- "someone will call you back as soon as possible." When I asked when, the person said, "I don't know. There's a note in your file. You'll just have to wait." At this point, I'm beyond frustrated. Three days, three phone calls, and the same goddamn runaround. This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm so pissed off that I ever went to them. Completely unprofessional and a total waste of my time. I will never fucking go back.
