Becky put my mind at ease from the initial consultation through the birthing process to the postpartum checkup. In particular, Becky brought well-rounded knowledge of current practices and recommendations to the table, all the while remaining supportive of my vision and letting me steer the ship. Becky provided multiple resources prior to labor and delivery that helped me formulate a birth plan and empowered me to take ownership of my birthing experience. She worked seamlessly with my husband and the hospital staff and was such a positive presence throughout my labor. Following birth, our postpartum checkup provided me a wonderful chance to review and process my birth story. While I am happy to report that I achieved a safe VBAC, I am confident that Becky would have been instrumental in me experiencing a peaceful birthing outcome regardless. She is experienced, knowledgeable, approachable, keeps it real, and has a great sense of humor! She's so good and putting people at ease and being an advocate for the women in her care. We had our baby in April 2020 in the midst of the COVID craziness and actually ended up needing a C-section, so she wasn't with us during the birth due to hospital restrictions. But Becky was so supportive post-partum, especially with my breastfeeding concerns. She even went above and beyond to help me secure a scale so that I could continue monitoring my baby's weight gain without needing to drive to the pediatrician. I would very highly recommend her without hesitation.

Yoga is so fun to connect with my baby and also other moms. Plus Amanda is a great instructor! Also their location can be a bit tricky to find but the main door is off Keswick Rd (and is stroller friendly). Walk in past the dress shop and bare to the right. There's a big parking lot in the back.

That way you end up inadvertently meeting the different doulas. We went with Cara. She has a ton of experience and super chill vibe. Our hospital was not allowing extra visitors due to COVID so we signed up for a virtual doula service. She met with us a few times before the birth to review questions, birth plan, and provide support. She was also available via email for random questions that came up in between. The day of my labor I reached out to her as needed and she guided me through some of the decisions we had to make. Her support made it so that I could better advocate for myself and my baby during my labor. She was 100% supportive of all my decisions and in the end I ended up having a beautiful and quick birth. I am so happy we got a doula and recommend it to anyone no matter what type of brith you are planning on having. I found the groups to be more helpful towards the beginning of my pregnancy, especially as it was a time that COVID was just ramping up. The only issue is that the people in group vary from week to week. I think it would be nice to be able to connect with the same group from week to week so there is some continuity.

We came across these ladies at a Holistic Health Fair where I learned what a Doula was and what…read morethey do. Fast forward about a year later, we were expecting our first child! The ladies gave us such a good lesson that we didn't hesitate to call them and get a contract in place for Labor and Delivery and Post Partum support. Best decision ever! From the time they take you on as a client, they were very responsive and support in a truly non-judgy way. Unlike pushy family members and in-laws, they offered all the advice and options you want and they coach you into deciding for yourself what is best for you and your baby. They coached me as well as my husband on the various options (and there are LOTS!) and while they were in the delivery room, they reminded me of what I wanted and prevented the hospital from pushing me around. If you are on the fence about getting a Doula, I highly recommend meeting with them and finding out what they do. They anticipated needs that I needed before I even knew I needed them, and were there to provide them to when WHEN I needed it. They do so much more than you would expect.

A lot happens during a miscarriage, and as this was my first, I was very unaware of what to expect physically. My doctor did not prepare me for what I would go through, leaving me to rely on Google and ER doctors and nurses for clear guidance. Each appointment with my doctor lasted barely two minutes, covering only my miscarriage options and potential surgery. When I called the nurses for some clarification, I was met with responses like, "Yeah, sorry, I know this is confusing". No one took the time or seemed to find it important enough to inform me of what would occur, making an already difficult experience even more stressful. While everyone was kind and professional, I sincerely hope this office improves its communication and care for patients experiencing their first miscarriage.

When we finally got him home, we realized we were overwhelmed. We called Overnight Newborn Care and they set us up with Claudine. She has been nothing short of a miracle. We can sleep through the night now which gives us the energy to finish our cross-country move (which was supposed to have happened BEFORE the baby came, but nooooo - yikes!). They explained everything in detail and were sensitive to our concerns about safety and care for a premie. Claudine is super sweet and has been so reliable, we actually don't want her to ever leave. She has been with us for almost 3 months now - 7 days a week - without incident! So, yeah, happy parents here. Highly recommend.
