Josh was managing things when we started and he understood the level of care we needed.  Only had one bad experience and after talking with Josh he didn't charge us for that day.  Early on Josh had set a schedule so for the most part we had the same caregivers. They became part of the family. The caregivers also had to deal with my Mom and to say the least she wasn't handling Dad's illness very well.  But, they were kind and respectful.  Josh handed the day to day operations over to Melanie during this period and the level of care never changed.   About 2 years after my Dad passed away, Mom needed some physical therapy but we didn't want her driving anymore.  Called Visiting Angels and once again they got us setup with some wonderful caregivers. By the time COVID hit and my Mom was now isolated we decided to have caregivers come just to spend time with her.  They were a perfect match as my Mom would enjoy gabbing away with them.  They would do anything she asked. If you're trying to make the decision about bringing strangers into a loved ones home, know that Melanie and the other Visiting Angels staff will do their utmost to help you through a difficult time. Care was fragmented and added stress rather than comfort. Nurses were kind but lacked the authority to act quickly. Critical medications were delayed or unavailable. We were told a Depakote suppository was ready for pickup, only to arrive and learn it required prior authorization and would not be available until the next day (she passed that night) 2 hours before her death, we made a one-hour round trip to a 24-hour pharmacy for pain medication. During a hospice emergency--approximately 10 seizures per hour--we called for help and were advised the stronger medication she needed could not be prescribed, IV meds would be delivered by 11:30 PM or we could admit her to a hospice house or call 911, despite our clear goal of keeping her comfortable at home. Medical supplies ordered on 3/4/26 arrived on 3/14/26--four days after she passed. End-of-life care should reduce suffering and support families. Instead, we encountered delays, deflection, and a lack of accountability during critical hospice emergencies. As an RN Case-Manager…read more Extremely unethical. You will do the work of 10 people and get paid for 1. I barely lasted 6 months without filing for bankruptcy. The management is rude and money driven. They put you down and force you to admit patients that do not qualify for home health services. They have no patients and complain you have low points and productivity. To make up points and productivity you will have yo drive out of your designated areas, by the time you get home you are too tired and will be forced to chart till way past midnight like you do not have a family life. Some of the homes are so filthy with extremely rude patients or family members. You will experience steady decline in your physical and mental health. Do I mention that miserable Samsung tablet with extremely user-unfriendly and macabre-looking interfacer and fonts you are required to squint at all day ling while charting? You go blind slowly while charting. You get paid every 2 weeks and can barely pay your bills. Glad to be back in the hospital setting working 3 days a week for twice the pay with benefits. I only do Home Health PRN with a more ethical agency that respects the staff. What a horrible place to work. Slave labor! Relieved to be out of there. Will rather drive UBER/LYFT.
