Went to this vet through care and Save for spaying and neutering which is based on income. I am an 82 year-old army veteran and saved a kitten and a five-year-old female cat that was used for breeding. It ended up costing me $2000 to have the teeth cleaned on The one cat. The two extractions were only $200 however strongly urged for warm test, and other blood work, even though he had the records from our previous Vet. Would not go back here again no explanation, no conversation, the doctor does not talk to you when you pick up your cats, then they even forgot to give us the pain medicine for the female that was spayed. We went here, thinking that he was a good vet that was trying to help people that were rescuing animals. We feel we should have gone to Gateway Animal Hospital, where we know the vets are compassionate and speak perfect English read more

My kingsnake had a cyst and I took him here to be checked out. Both the doctor and the one nurse present were very gentle with him, and I got the impression they genuinely cared for the animal's well being. I felt in general, they tried to keep the costs down and avoided expensive treatments/options unless it was necessary. At the end, they did successfully drain the cyst and the snake is now doing fine. Based on my experience with them I would recommend this clinic to others. read more

Follow up to my prior review. I would be wary of this place. Never received test results so I took my cat to another vet. They called to get a copy of the test results. Person from Compassion told new vet they would send them over but never received. I wonder if they even did any testing. Dr RAVI AND HIS WIFE ARE SO UNPROFESSIONAL. He's an awful vet and she is literally the worst administrator. When you first walk in, she will rudely ask you if you filled out the paperwork... my first thought: "Did you give me any paperwork to fill out?!? I just walked in the door!" The whole front desk is a mess, papers and crap everywhere, everything is unorganized, and I laugh every time they try to find any paperwork. Like, that's what they let us see, I wonder what the cleanliness is like of the surgery room and everywhere we can't see.... Ew! These people don't know how to run a business. They won't call you back, they won't update you on tests, and will give you the run around any chance they get. There's hundreds of vets in the area, pick literally any other vet in the area.... Your pet will thank you. And when we finally spoke on the phone after calling for 2 weeks, he said "there's no reason to get upset". Let me say, I wasn't upset until he said that.... OF COURSE THERES A REASON TO BE UPSET, YOU IDIOT! YOU PEOPLE DONT KNOW HOW TO DO YOUR JOBS AND YOU HAVE ACTUAL LIVES IN YOUR HANDS. I hate hate hate leaving bad reviews, but in this case, I just must. My Newfoundland had been acting weird for a few days and suddenly wouldn't even walk. When I tried to get him up to go outside he was yelping in pain. So needless to say we called our vet for an emergency visit, but they were closed. In fact, compassion vet was the only vet open within our area. For this reason I gave them the 3 stars for being open when we really needed them most. Our vet was extremely brash and wouldn't answer our questions after testing our dog until we asked multiple times. Our dog had recently been adopted, and there was a lot about him that we didn't know. Our bill was incredibly high, I believe it was upwards of $700 (granted we had to get blood work done as well as a shot of steroids and other medication because it turns out our baby had lymes) we were then told we would have to come back for an additional round of blood work and more medicine. We left totally confused and not sure if the state of our beloved pup. We made an appointment with our regular vet soon after and he explained everything that happened, and what we should expect from here on out clearly. He also let us know that additional testing was not needed, but just a money ploy. I felt like he took advantage of me for my pockets, and really didn't have my dogs best interest in mind. not cool. read more

Dr Ravi and his team are true life savers. I recently found a terribly injured kitty wandering on the street. He had a large, infected gaping wound on his neck. After plenty of coaxing I managed to get him into a carrier and transported him quickly to Dr Murarka at Compassion vet clinic. We were checked in immediately and Dr Ravi, upon seeing the seriousness of the wound got to work very quickly. I was doubtful that the wound could be managed because it was badly infected and very deep. But after a visit to the office (including neutering) and a couple of weeks of wound managment "Juniper" is absolutely 100% healed and a very sweet kitty! I can't tell you how disappointed I am with this place and Dr. Murarka. Recently I had to have my dog put down due to old age. I called for an appointment and pricing. Originally was told $110 for euthanasia and cremation. The price didn't sound right so I called back and was told $220 for complete cost. That sounded more reasonable so we set the appointment up. Brought puppy in,said our goodbyes and she was put down. When I went to pay the price jumped to $345 ,when asked why he said there were added fees. Hello my name is Andrea and on March 8th, 2020, my 3lb Yorkie went into Labour. Which was on a sunday. She was in labour for 7 hours and my husband and I decided wanted to take her to a vet because it had already been a long time with her being in labour. I got a hold of Dr. Ravi. It was his day off but that didnt stop him from seeing my babygirl. We took our 40 min ride to see him and she had to get a C Section. She had two puppies. Dr. Ravi and his staff did everything to make sure they saved her and her puppies. He didnt give up on my dog and her babies. He didnt care how long he was in the clinic, He was so selfless and caring and all he wanted was to keep my dog and her puppies alive and he did just that. Dr. Ravi Murarka and Compassion Vet Clinic are fantastic. We are new to the area and had never been to CVC before. Our cat suddenly became really sick, and without an appointment they let me bring her that morning. We were treated right away and taken really good care of. He managed her nausea/vomiting, dehydration, and did a full work up to figure out what was causing her illness. Dr Ravi personally called me back later that day with results and he called the next two days to check up on her. He is a great veterinarian and cares a lot. Dr. Ravi Murarka saved my cat, Spirit's life a few years back. I bought my cat in, after hours, as I knew she most likely didn't have a chance at surviving if I waited. He quickly examined her and, said that she must be operated on immediately! He informed me that there was a very slight chance for her survival. He worked, without assistance, throughout the night. He phoned me at midnight, after finishing the surgery, as I had requested him to do, so that I could visit her. When I arrived at his office, he gently took her out of the cage. It appeared that she wasn't going to make it as he held her in his arms. I quietly called her name and she opened her eyes, so brightly. Dr. Murarka and I, looked at each other in amazement. SHE MADE IT! I will never forget that night. The "GOOD DOCTOR," stayed with my Spirit the entire night, only resting on a wooden chair in his office to make sure my Spirit was safe and not alone, until I arrived at 8 AM the following morning. The tumor he removed from her was almost as big as her. She recovered quickly and with no complications. Ravi has dedicated his life to animals. I love his COMPASSION for animals. My wife and I took our two dogs to an upscale vet clinic in our area. Smiley staff, Senseo coffee pods for libation and spiffy printouts of everything we had done for our dogs. The charge for some heartworm pills and shots were around $200.00. I'm not even going to mention the emergency visit for our whippet Simon and the second mortgage I'm still paying off for that visit. If all of this over-the-top expenses and hoopla for your pets makes your headspin, try Dr. Prier and his warm staff at Centre Square Veterinary Clinic. This place is a throwback, and it's so welcoming that I drive out of my way to take our dogs there. Dr. Prier has an obvious love for animals, and his care is experienced and warm. Dr. Ravi is an amazingly compassionate and dedicated vet, and I cannot recommend him enough. We recently rescued a dog from the Philadelphia ACCT, and she was in very bad shape. We took her to see Dr. Ravi, and you could tell he was concerned with her condition. We've been following Dr. Ravi's instructions for care, and our dog Britt has been steadily recovering by the day. We're hopeful that she will be back to full health within a couple of weeks, and we are thankful to Dr. Ravi for all of his attention. In fact, the first day we got Britt and began to be concerned with her condition, I called Dr. Ravi at almost 9pm on a Sunday and he answered! He took my call and and patiently gave me advice. We originally went to Dr. Ravi on my parents' recommendation. They take their cat to him and regularly praise his good. I can now see firsthand that they are correct about how great he is. Our office has a cat colony at the end of the parking lot. Last winter two cats, a male and female, joined the colony. Unfortunately, it turned out that the female wasn't spayed nor was the male neutered. In April of 2014, four kittens were born. Three female kittens were somewhat healthy, however, the male kitten was not and was abandoned by the mother. We found the male kitten, brought him home and took him to Compassion Veterinary Clinic to see Dr. Ravi Murarka. Will was diagnosed with hydrocephalous and severely vision impaired. Dr. Ravi explained the issues Will would have to face and told us we could do our best to keep him alive or have him euthanized. Dr. Ravi also went on to say that "people will say to put an animal down BUT once the animal is down it cannot be bought back to life." Dr. Ravi felt that it was worth the effort to give Will a fighting chance and so did we. Dr. Ravi has been seeing Will regularly and had drawn fluid from his head two more times since his first visit on May 9. Will was also given an antibiotic and within the week he greatly improved. Dr. Ravi took the time to call us to check on Will after each visit. And, each time Will goes back to see Dr. Ravi, Dr. Ravi says that he didn't think Will would make it but we (Dr. Ravi and us) gave him a chance and Will is learning, growing and eating just like a normal kitten. Will still has a long battle to go and we know he will make it with Dr. Ravi's help. Thank you Dr. Ravi for being such a compassionate doctor and person. You are great!! read more

our bulldog was sick last week and our normal vet was closed so made a bunch of calls to local places. Compassion Vet had an opening for us within 30 minutes of the call, so we took that appointment. Tested for Lyme Disease- negative. Took a blood and urine sample. Results came back within 24 hours. Dr. Ravi explained the possible procedures and didn't pressure us into doing more tests as he wanted to be clear about financial costs before going forward. The visit cost was cheaper than what we have paid in the past. He didn't charge us for writing scripts (as other vets have done!) and he answered all questions we had. The bonus was that Dr. Ravi even offered us his home number and said we could call him at 11pm if there was an emergency with our dog! Great call on giving her the IV of fluids. She's healthy and eating again! update: 8/19/17. just called Dr Ravi on a Saturday evening. Office hours said they closed at 3pm but he picked up and is making himself available for a 9:30pm appointment tonight. 5 stars all the way. read more

Dr. Ravi and his team are wonderful! Any time our dog has had an issue he has always been able to squeeze him in the same day. He also makes himself available to his patients after hours. On one occasion our dog injured himself just minutes before the office was closing, but Dr. Ravi waited until we could run over to his office so he could see him before he closed for the day. And on a more recent occasion our dog ate chocolate after hours and he made himself available after hours for us to talk us through what to do over the phone. Centre square vet clinic not the same. As a client of 15 years, the clinic lost it's down home feel. A new clinic owner, a paint job and no more casual chats. I visited the clinic after I got the " welcome letter", spoke with Beth, who assured me things had not changed. At my anual visit with my best friend, I first waited 25 min past my appt,then while in the room the "dr" answered 2 cell phone calls which dr Prier would never have done, then while the dr was telling me about blood work that was nessasery to run, his wife I'm assuming, came in the room to ask him about another client, hey I'm the client in the room now! FYI , dr Prier always gave you one on one attention. To make matters worse, when I finally got to the desk to check out, beth was kind enough to ask about my family and beloved dog, and the dr came out to pull her away, I then had to wait again. At her return we began my check out and a few questions I had, the dr wife began telling me about a product I was not even asking about. I felt like there was no personal relationship any longer I was only a dollar sign. This was the same story I heard from a few more old clients. Sorry beth, we will not be back. If you ever leave put up a post! You always made us feel at home and remembered each one of us. It used to be more then just a vet visit. No longer you are now "just another client". read more

I have been very pleased with the care they receive from Dr.Ravi. He is a very hands on vet. He weighs, does vital signs, draws blood and administers the vaccinations. Unlike the last vet we went to in Pet Smart, this place is no frills but a friendly, cozy, old fashioned type vet. I prefer the latter to ambience, bells and whistles that we pay for in the long run anyway.I find his prices to be reasonable and he always asks if we want testing, blood work and procedures before performing them.
