Robby Long, the…read moreowner, is one of the most knowledgeable guys I have met in a long time when it comes to everything to do about guns. If you are looking to buy rifles, pistols, ammo, optics, or to have expert gunsmithing done, this is the place! In addition, the Cerakote that he can do on any gun you own is of the highest quality and can really trick out your favorite gun. Robby spent a considerable amount of time with us, answering every question we had, showing us everything we were interested, and never once did we feel rushed or pressured. So, he has excellent prices on everything I listed above, is an expert gunsmith, and is just a real top drawer person to boot. I really don't know why anyone would go anywhere else. I look forward to a long relationship with Robby for absolutely ALL of my gun needs! Gary Hickey

There was also a gentle lady who worked there and call her a saint! She put up with their employees and all of our groups BS! And on top of all of that, it was way cheaper than where we go in Gilbert AZ! It is my understanding that our group comes back every year! 100% I'll be back! Wild horses couldn't keep me away!

We started on Friday and finished on Sunday firing 1000 rounds while developing skills shooting targets from 3 yards up to 140 yards. I never thought I could shoot such a small pistol that far and be accurate but I did. Our course also included outdoor and indoor (playhouse) simulators with our instructor requiring us to use only one hand to shoot and also one eye by putting tape over our non dominant eye. Other training included shooting from and around vehicles. Gunsite training is for real world situations and consists of the highest standards. No wonder why it is the oldest and largest firearm school in the US. The facilities here are world class along with the instructors. This class was led by Jim Owens and he was excellent as a teacher and safety was paramount. I always enjoy coming to Gunsite and consider it to be without equal. Yes, it's pricey but you get what you pay for.

I took their CCW class in October 2021 and have been a regular since then. Staff is knowledgeable and efficient. There is a rifle range and pistol range, as well as archery. The pistol range has six separate lanes and area for loading and personal storage. Clean and temp controlled, although not everyone cleans their brass after a session, so be sure to ensure your lane is clean before firing. I've purchased firearms through them and staff is competent and thorough. They offer hourly lane and firearm rentals as well as 6-month and annual memberships, which I highly recommend. The facility is perched up on a hill over looking the Verde Valley, located by the Yavapai Sheriff station/jail and Out of Africa. I do wish they had a larger selection of pistols for "try-out", and for sale. However, they can order anything for the customer. Highly recommend if you're visiting and want something fun to try..or if you're a local and want to brush-up, or maintain your skills!

Absolutely horrible customer service provided by the Vice President, Sherri…read more I scheduled their CCW class back in October for a December slot. A week before the class began I changed my mind and decided not to attend. When I went in to cancel my slot and receive a refund it turned into a huge ordeal. The gentlemen working the store (although pleasant) were unable to do anything to help me, instead handing me a business card for Vice President Sherri and directing me to contact her for a resolution. I sat in the store on what turned in to a 20 minute phone conversation with her. Sherri was completely unwilling to cancel my class and refund my money. I sat through a cringeworthy sales pitch (guided by some mystery man in the background of the phone call) about why they think they are better than other classes, the benefits of their class, and was offered multiple times to reschedule, none of which applied to what I was calling about. Sherri said they are not able to process refunds on classes due to the business eating the cost of credit card processing fees and reward points earned, yet still refused even after I offered to receive a refund minus these estimated costs. Adding to the confusion, she said if I go through the entire class and say I "didn't learn anything" then she would process a full refund, including the aforementioned fees. Sherri would rather go through all that headache and argue with a customer than simply do the right thing and refund my money to begin with. She seemed far more concerned with 'winning the battle' on the phone than doing right by her customer. The lack of refundability was also never disclosed prior to pre-paying for the class. I was offered store credit after significant back and forth, which I refused. After this experience I am no longer interested in ever doing business with Insight again.

Over the years Dave has worked on close to a dozen guns for me, from simple adjustments to a complete cosmetic work over on a 1911, adding sights to two pistols and three rifles, stock work, tune ups, restorations, and more. I have send several people to him and they all were satisfied, even one man whose father's rifle was a $2,00 single shot .222 that was abused over the years and a wreck. He did a partial restoration on a Korean War bring back 1911 that turned out so well the customer's wife took it for her own and wont give it back. He had to buy a new gun for himself.
