Prymo Automotive Service - No charge = no go

Prymo Automotive Service

Battery: dead Schedule: busy…read moreAvailability to take car to dealer: no Mobile service needed: yes Prymo did a fairly primo job for me. My car, like many cars that are on the market today, has tons of bells and whistles, so adding a battery means doing a reset and reprogram. Guess what? I don't have the tools or the knowledge on how to do that. Could I change a battery many years ago? Absolutely! Could I change a battery now? No way... That's why I needed someone with the tools, the know-how, and the availability. I put in a request via Yelp to get a project started, and Prymo was the first to respond and had availability the next morning. They sent a tech to my house, he quickly diagnosed that the battery had no charge left, even though I had a jump the day before, and he commenced replacement. I didn't have to do anything other than do what I usually do, which is work from home. Fast-forward a half-hour and the job was done. I had a new battery, the tech had reprogrammed everything to its proper state, and he was on his way. Prymo accepts debit and credit, though a credit card purchase will come with a 3% charge, which is very fair since that's what the banks stick to the business. It wasn't cheap, but most of the cost was in the actual battery itself, which came with a five-year warranty. Great response, simple to navigate and schedule, and the tech was professional and skilled. Great experience and highly recommend if you're in the same situation.

Our Toyota Prius C was due for scheduled…read moremaintenance, and everyone at the shop did their utmost to make it the BEST experience for us. Many thanks to Kelly, for booking our appointment (thank you for guiding us through the online program!) and checking us in; her sunny disposition started us out on a high note. And a HUGE thank-you to Jeramiah for keeping us posted on the findings during the maintenance inspection, and for his guidance in the best course of action. AND for remembering our AAA discount! :-) The best part was that we were in a bit of a time crunch as we needed the vehicle by the next afternoon. Jeramiah ordered the new part we needed right away, and the technician was able to get started on it as soon as it arrived, so we were able to pick up our car at noon that day. Thank you for going the extra mile to work with our schedule! We appreciate you! And big thanks to Brad who checked us out, and reviewed the recommendations after the maintenance and repairs were completed. His care for our vehicle was evident in his attention to detail, and was a great finishing touch to our experience. We are faithful clients of Sallas, and the excellent customer service and care for our vehicle that we received during this visit are the reasons why!

I brought my Hyundai in to this shop after my car began stalling and showing multiple engine codes…read more From the start, everything was running smoothly. What I was told would be two day repair for my timing chain turned into a month-long experience with my car sitting in the shop. Communication was inconsistent at times, and I often felt in the dark about what was really happening. The shop initially quoted me around $2,600, then revised it to $4100 and offered a $800 discount. The total ended up at $3,908. During the repair, I was told that my dowel pin had broken in the camshaft, which required additional work. I receive a text message saying my car was ready for pickup. I came paid my balance in full. Less than a hundred feet of leaving out the parking lot my check engine light was back on and problem still existed. Im thankful I caught it in time because it was a Friday and they are closed on weekends. So it would have been my word against there's when it came time with correcting the problem. When I arrived for pickup today, the shop stated they waived an additional $800 fee for a solenoid recalibration/replacement that was directly related to the timing chain work they had just performed. I feel strongly that this should have been included in the original service and not presented as an "extra" charge after I had already paid. To their credit, I really appreciated the friendliness of the two administrative assistants, who went above and beyond to help me. They provided me with a shuttle ride home when I dropped off my car, even paid for me an Uber to pick up the loaner vehicle, and made sure I had a loaner car for the month while mine was being repaired. Those accommodations meant a lot during a very long process. The shop also test drove my car for 40+ minutes before releasing it, and the check engine light has not come back on yet. I appreciate that they ultimately covered the $800 charge, but overall the experience left me questioning trust, timelines, and transparency. If you use this shop, know that while they will work with you and provide support, you'll need to ask a lot of questions, push back on extra fees, and keep good records. The repair seems to be holding for now, but the process was much more difficult and drawn out than it should have been.

Infact, by far, it's the cleanest shop I've ever seen in my life, and the most thorough in car care. The type of car care they do is the type of care you'd get at the new car dealership. Expect to pay like you would at the place you bought your new car. But the price, they don't take advantage of you, nor do they look for things that are wrong and surprise you. He does my car maintenance, our car oil changes, our car repairs, and even found a car for my son who needed one that was affordable. The staff is friendly, honest and has the most integrity of any shop I've ever had contact with and frankly, I don't care to go anywhere else but Brian's.

I got an inspection done, titling and tags installed on the car in less time than waiting for what clearly appears to be a grift here. I wouldn't even take my cars here now for air in the tires.
