Their website updates on Tuesdays at 5pm for new appointments: https://www.boynton-beach.org/news/covid I made my appointment online and received a confirmation email with a link to cancel or reschedule if needed. They provided a link to a form I could fill out ahead of time and bring with me. I was actually able to make an appointment for my husband for the exact same time slot, which was incredible convenient. Instructions were very clear: arrive no earlier than 15 minutes. 2 Police officers blocked the entrance and took our names, and directed us to park in what seemed like the back of the building. It was not immediately clear where we were supposed to go after that, since we were in the back, but since the only oher people who had been admitted were also getting the vaccine, we just followed other people to find a socially distanced line snaking around the building next to a chain link fence. Another police officer checked for the appointment times, more people took our form and looked at our id and told us when our 2nd shot would be. We followed the line into the building where we got a small white vaccination card. Firefighters gave us the first Moderna shot. A swift process! We were then told to write our own names on the card and take a photo so we'd have a copy of it. We then sat in a boring, blank room with paced out metal folding chairs while we waited too see if we had any reactions. It was very quiet in there. This was bare bones service with little info about what to note about reactions afterwards (and no actual checking of this). All in all, I appreciate the massive staffing efforts here to vaccinate multiple people in 15 minute time slots. They have an efficient, well-run machine of a system going on here. We did not have to wait for anything and the instructions given ahead of time were very clear. Thanks, City of Boynton Beach and all the folks who staffed this Center!

Lake Charleston in neighboring Lake Worth, is a master planned community consisting of over 945 acres of neighborhoods linked by a chain of over 220 acres of lakes. The Lake Charleston Park and Recreation center is next to Manatee Elementary School. The 9.5 acres and is open from sunrise until 10 PM. I took my children here recently to try out some new playgrounds while in the area. Two playgrounds…read moresit next to and behind this community's rec center and pool area. Parking is ample, free and shaded. The first playground is designed for smaller children and is designed as a sailboat. A small rock wall, pretend boat helm and two-tiered design appealed to both of my kids (1 and 3). A tiny 'hill' beyond this is the playground for older kids. There were a couple of cool features on the lower levels. Both playgrounds are connected by a sidewalk that continues on in a few different directions - around a lake and through tennis courts. Across from the sidewalks are large fields that I assume are used for soccer, due to the goals. My kids ran around in the mid-length grass/weeds trying to catch dragonflies. The field is very far from the road so it was nice for them to run around without needing to worry. We spotted different kinds of birds and a family of ducks far away. We did walk through the courts (2 tennis and 1 basketball, at least) to another part of a water body (Lake Charleston? No clue!). I was pretty nervous about alligators being that close to the water. We came to a tiny dock that was so covered in bird poop that it was uninhabitable. I didn't see any signs about alligators, but I don't think I'd walk my kids around that part again without a stroller. I'm not sure if it was just a windy day, but these are kind of 'waterfront' playgrounds and definitely received nice breezes. They were also shady with benches and altogether pleasant. Although not fenced, the far proximity from roads is nice and feels protected. The bathrooms are located outside but on the other side of the rec center (not near the playgrounds). They were remarkably nice and clean. We only encountered one other young child here briefly. Otherwise, when I arrived, the smaller playground was being used by a fitness class (for adults), and the larger one was being used by 3 teenagers.

This place will rob you of every dime they can!!DO NOT BOOK…read moreWe had an event there on March 13th for my daughters Baby Shower. I paid a total of $1075 for the facility which included a $300 refundable deposit. We rented the room from 5PM to 10PM. After the event, I contacted the facility to refund my $300 deposit and at that time I was told that I was only getting $100 back. When I asked them why the reasons they gave me were #1. We arrived 15 minutes early #2. We stayed 15 late and #3. People were not wearing their masks in the hallway. Here is where this is so unfair.....#1. I was not there 15 minutes early, I was actually 15 minutes late. However, we had a party rental that showed up before me and was let into the room without my authorization and they are counting that as my time. #2. We only stayed a little later because we actually pitched in to assist the facility in stacking the chairs against the wall and moving tables...all of which we were not required to do but we were trying to help AND #3. I was told twice to let people know not to enter the hallway without a mask...the second time I was told I went around to each table and personally let everyone know....Had I been aware that facial masks would take a toll on my refund I would have had signs posted and made it known upon entry...HOWEVER....I was told nothing about that. After the event was over the girls did a walk around the room and told me that everything looked good. I feel like I am being robbed. I went in on this room with 2 other parents because I could not afford it by myself. I will never recommend this facility to anyone and I am ready to post reviews wherever anyone will hear me. It just isn't fair.

The branch is large inside and has a large parking lot outside with many limited mobility spots. Good to see so many people taking advantage of the services, both young and old. There is even a Creative studio with all the equipment needed to create your own pod cast or other visual production. The only negative was in the print media (Newspaper) section. Several publications were missing sections or even whole days in the middle of a week.

This is a relatively new library for Lantana. It was opened in 1923 but according to all reports it took a bit for it to be built -- construction delays, etc. It replaced their former library which was located in a bank building. This place is large! It is packed with books and tapes, etc. There's a long bank of computers in cubicles that can be used. And most of them on a mid-week mid-day time were occupied. There are private nooks and seating areas throughout. A reference section. A children's section. And most impressively, a recording room where you could do podcasts or filming of some sort. When we came by, there was a line of folks to get into the auditorium/meeting room. I'm not sure what was going on there, but they do have many programs and activities for families, children, etc. Overall, it was spacious, clean, and well-organized. It could be a bit overwhelming for some people. But it is easy to see why it is well patronized by the locals.
