The staff is super friendly and helpful; the first time we boarded our dogs, they called me, concerned because one of them hadn't eaten his dinner. I let them know that was normal for him (he can have some separation anxiety), and they said they would call back if it continued to be an issue. Really only complaint is with the cost of boarding... as someone else mentioned, you pay a base price for the boarding, but then extras, such as a cot in the kennel, bedding, extra playtime, etc. are a separate added cost, which can add up pretty quickly. But, worth it to me knowing that my dogs are getting good care while I'm away.

Outdoor play area for the dogs and you can have your dog supplied with treats throughout their stay. Also, baths available before pickup. Only con is you can only pick up your dogs between 1pm and 4pm on Sundays. Sunday is usually the day we get back from vacation so that kinda stinks if we don't get in until later.

We paid a little extra for nature walks and they even gave us a little report about it afterwards. When we picked up our dog, the staff was very accommodating about the late pick up (just make sure you give notice a day in advance). The pricing is super reasonable and my dog seemed like he had a great time! If we ever need boarding services again, we will definitely be back.

I have boarded my dog at the Chapel Hill Boarding Kennel several times over the last two or so…read moreyears (most recently this past weekend). It is a relatively new kennel that is located very close to I-40 (exit 261). It still has a new and very clean feeling. My dog always seems excited to arrive and the staff always seem to treat her well. While boarding, dogs are taken outside to relieve themselves in a fenced area four times daily, and you can pay extra for additional walks on the large property. They do not charge extra to administer medicine, which I have appreciated. I like that the kennel is on the property of the owner's home - if there were to be an emergency at the kennel, the owner is right there. The owner is also a dog trainer, and while we haven't used the training services, it is clear that he loves dogs and is very knowledgeable about them. While I think their prices are slightly higher than other similar kennels in the area, Chapel Hill Boarding Kennel is our preferred kennel because of the great facilities and the trust we have in the staff.

My husband specifically gave him a bath and took him for a checkup before we left to go out of town. There is no way we wouldn't have seen this and especially coughing up blood! He seemed so scared when we picked him up it looked as though they choked him during the time they gave him a "bath" I guess. I do know that we took him home and tried to doctor on him because unfortunately we just came off vacation and paid them a ton of money for no one to admit to anything. Don't I repeat Don't take your pet here smh!!!! P.s. the knot is STILL there but has shrunk a lil, he hasn't coughed up blood since oh and his bark was very hoarse sounding after a week it got better.

I've learned a lot in the last 14 years. Why is there gravel everywhere at this place? - well,…read moreit's more hygienic. Oh! There are lots of attention to details I hadn't even thought about. It's all geared toward making your pet safe, healthy, and comfortable. Sorry, there isn't a 24-hour concierge, you'll have to get past that, they're busy worrying about the important things. Our border collie spent our/her vacations at this great place for 14 years. They were there for us as new dog owners and they were there when we left for vacation with an old dog that needed lots of medicine and care. They pulled her in the office when she started acting funny. They called us to find out if she had trouble taking her medicine sometimes and then were sitting with her when she passed. Wished we were there with her at the end but I know she was in loving hands. These are good people and where you should comfortably board your dog.

I just do not understand how a veterinarian could turn their back on dog with a known problem when…read moreasked for help. Had an appointment for his injection and was told no by the front desk lady and the veterinarian that they can't see him for his re- occurring issue because they "were booked." For myself, I am looking for a new veterinarian because to say no to any animal is not only inexcusable but disgraceful. The young lady at the desk presented herself as not caring and non-compassionate with a "matter of fact" attitude. Having someone with her non caring attitude and a veterinarian to say no, is the quickest way to loose business along with trust. If I could give a negative ten rating, I would ! Why do I also have to have my dog in the back just to receive a shot? Should that not be done in an exam room? In front of me? Despite my discontent, I would never trust this hospital ever again... my concern was ignored and dismissed. No need to ever contact me in an attempt to resolve my concern. I've lost complete trust.

I WILL NEVER RECCOMEND OR VISIT AGAIN. I brought my dog to…read morehave his shots updated, get a flea and tick prescription, and have his nails cut. The lady at the front desk is extremely kind, but the vet tech who came out immediately had a bad attitude and barely acknowledged me which was the least of my concerns, but another negative to note. We discussed what we'd have done and when the actual Vet came in, she asked if I had any concerns I wanted to discuss before they did his shots and I mentioned he doesn't like his nails done, so I'm unable to do them myself. As the vet is preparing to give him the shots, she asks the vet tech which leg they go into! It is ABSURD that the VET is asking the VET TECH where to administer the shot in front of me. I was seriously questioning if this was her first day and we were her first patient to which they should have discussed prior to coming in the room! I mean it is extremely unprofessional to be asking these questions as if you don't know right in front of me. As I mentioned earlier, I had already communicated that he doesn't enjoy his nails being clipped. When the Vet tech brought him back in, she said they were only able to do a few back nails and then he was done. I just said okay unaware of the charge I was about to incur. 416 dollars later, I notice the ridiculously overpriced shots and I was charged the full amount of the nail trim although they did less than half of the service on my 14 POUND DACHSHUND. I email them and am told I will be called tomorrow by the manager. Well the next day comes, she calls and immediately is hehe-haha-ing, clearly trying to mitigate the situation. Anyway, she informs me the mistake made was that the Vet, who is new to the clinic, did not inform me they could give me gabapentin to administer at home and bring him back another day to finish "free of charge" LOL! So, it's not free of charge because I will pay for the medication, and then they will finish the service I ALREADY PAID FOR AND THEY DID NOT COMPLETE!! She also claims "Oh so they actually got all of his back feet and his dew claws" I wanted to hang up right then, because I am not an idiot and I can tell you for a FACT the dew claws were NOT done and only about 3 or 4 of his back nails were done. This entire phone call was irritating, because the manager was clearly trying to use a lot of filler words and sentences. I am not interested in why the Vet didn't tell me options, how many clinics she works at, or that your other clients take the meds and do them at home.. especially after I already clearly stated I was not going to do that AND all while she continuously spoke over me. The right thing to do would have been communicating pricing without completion and the medication option FIRST, but since they didn't do that, it would've been fair to refund me at least half of the 30 and whatever cents back (although they did less than half of the service) They are extremely unprofessional and they have you sign something to be recorded during the visit which is a red flag indicator they have clearly had issues before. We will never be returning to this Vet and I would not recommend them to anyone in the area. Other than the nails, the lack of communication, the attitudes (minus the front desk lady), and unprofessionalism are more than enough to steer anyone else away.
