i would like to give a shout out to valley oak credit union for this is my first auto lender and…read morethey are GREAT. i mean i did a good job myself making on time payments, but regardless of all that, the ladies in the bank are very friendly and always treat you like a good friend. i actually started a CD after a couple of years of opening my auto loan but before that i didn't know much so i would ask questions that would seem foolish to others (being it was my first time and i was interested in becoming more knowledgeable over all my accounts). they have an online application that is user friendly and easy to navigate, i have also contacted them over the phone and if the bank teller i wanted to speak with wasn't available for the day after leaving a message she would definitely get back to me later that day or some time the following day. They offer good RATES for car buying, they also have other offers like (CD) certificate of deposit (which i have, rates vary every where), and other banking offers such as first time home buying which i have not yet experienced but after my car buying experience with them i do look forward to maybe working with them to make my first home purchase best part is they are local in Tulare county

Valley Oak is the only brick and mortar in their coop in the area. I went in to open an account and…read morepay a car payment. The reason I came to them is because Both my out of area/state credit unions belong to their coop. They couldn't look up my info to pay my car payment and refused to open me an account. I have no use for them and don't recommend this bank.

Edit: The customer service needs improvement…read more EDIT: Stacy called me from the bank and went over everything and did a good job at explaining the confusion as well as apologized for the inconveniences that I experienced. Aside from this instance I have banked with Bank of the Sierra for years and having customer support call me and actually take time to apologize has helped my overall experience. The customer service is not great, they do not seem to know what they are doing they tell you something is resolved when it is not. The teller kept my bank card and did not notify me after that they froze my card and I went back and forth with them until I had no choice but to get a new card. The supervisors in the chat option are of no help and tell you to call the bank then why have the chat option in the first place Sofia???? They have made the last two weeks a so inconvenient for me and do not be surprised when I close my account because of your staffs stupidity and lack of customer care/support.

If I could give a lower review, I would. The customer staff and IT staff are hamstrung. In bill…read morepay, change a payee or add a new payee, you get the message Action blocked The action you're attempting to perform is blocked on this device. If you need immediate assistance, please contact us at (888) 454-2265. The need for "immediate assistance" is a joke.. if you call that number after 6 , your out of luck. If you email online service, they cannot resolve the problem. Every day that you need to adjust a payee or add one.. the message that the action is blocked. 13 minutes later, I was able to gain access during banking hours.. This happens every time i make an adjustment over a period of time.. the security protocol is insane. With a brokerage company or other banking instutition, you are sent a verification code.. Not w/ Bank of Sierra. I have begun to end my very long term relationship w/ BOS. Complaints have not been passed on to management, .. The CEO is not accessable by ph or email . someone is dropping the ball big time....Rating of 0, zero on their IT programming..

Safe 1 should truly focus on customer service. Primarily at your Mill Rock location. Ms. Lety & Ms…read more Maria (manager) lack professionalism and they don't know how to empathize with your members. I assist my elderly uncle who doesn't speak English, has vision problems, and he's 74 yrs old. We have always called 661-327-3818 for assistance and with my uncle's verbal permission and security questions (Usually 3), we speak to someone, and they handle his issue. However, speaking with Ms. Maria was unfortunate. She refused to speak to my uncle or to me and simply said it goes against company policy and whomever else I spoke with did not follow protocol. I wasn't happy and asked why, when and how, etc. Instead of an explanation, Ms. Maria (a manager) hung up on me. I work with clients all day long. I primarily deal with immigrants who can't speak English, can't read or write, or who are elderly. I empathize with them. I am patient with them, and I aim to help, not hinder. When they have a family member assisting them, I understand. I get the logic behind that. I always get permission from the client due to legal liability but I'm never rude nor do I hang up on a client who is frustrated or upset. I find a person any client/customer who is frustrated to be a challenge. I look to calm them down, and kindly, and in a soft tone, explain the reason for such a change in policy. Most clients calm down and are apologetic. Ms. Maria shouldn't be a manager if she has thin skin and can't handle an upset caller. I hope you discuss this matter with your employees. I called back and spoke to Lety. She was following Ms. Maria's lead, she placed us on hold then came back by making it more complicated than necessary for my uncle by asking about 7 security questions. Name, address, phone #, SSN, Safe 1 account #, account balance and lastly his DL #. Security screening should be no more than 3 questions. Each question took my poor uncle a few minutes to answer, he stumbled, tried reading with bad eyesight... it was sad. Be kind. You know good and well that people such as my uncle exist and are simply trying to handle their business. Shame on you. I've emailed, left VM, and posted on their social media and not 1 person has had the decency to call me back or reply. Customer Service is a rarity. Be careful who you trust your money with.
