I decided to try curbside pickup so this review is for that…read more This was my first time doing a curbside pickup from anywhere and the process was amazingly easy! Samantha was my shopper and she let me know two items that were out of stock (which wasn't a big deal at all) and one that she substituted which I was fine with! I arrived at 6:30 and immediately someone came out after I called to let them know I was there. It took her no longer than 30 seconds to get all of my groceries in my car- WAY quicker than I could have done! I definitely recommend doing curbside pickup and don't forget to tip the amazing shoppers for all of the work they do!

Did the curbside pickup for groceries, so this review is for that process…read more I ordered food online and the site automatically set the Verona store as the delivery site. That was fine; I don't live too far from there. On the day of pickup I was texted by Mary Ann, who identified herself as my 'personal shopper'. She contacted me a few times thereafter to verify items, suggest alternatives when needed, and to make sure I had no issue with filet mignon steaks larger than normal (Larger filets? Bring it!). She also offered the opportunity to add items I might have not thought of earlier. My daughter had to pick up for me as I was in post-covid recovery (hence my online order). That was no issue, and she informed me the pickup process was seamless. The products I got, including produce, were perfect. The bill was actually less than originally totalled, surprisingly. I guess those filets were on sale? LOL Well done, Mary Ann and Verona Giant Eagle. Thank you for getting it right!

Visiting Pittsburgh from Chicago. Mother lives a little east on the river and we were searching for…read morea new Italian deli to grab some sandwiches. We came across Patsy's and after reading the reviews on Yelp we were sold. When we arrived the owner met us at the back of the store in the deli section and proudly reviewed the menu with us and discussed our tastes. We wanted to measure Pittsburgh against the delis we've visited in Chicago, New York, and San Francisco so we decided on the Italian Hoagie as a familiar item. Patsy's OVER DELIVERED! The owner gave us his reasoning for each ingredient and why he uses the vendors he does while making the sandwich. It was fun to learn the history of where everything came from and why he sourced those particular items. When we arrived home and opened up the wrapping the bread and ingredients smelled just as fresh as the deli itself. The meats were fresh and each had a distinct flavor, the vegetables were crisp, and the bread was everything you hope for from an Italian deli. If we lived in the area Patsy's would be a regular stop for us! Thank you so much for your kindness!

What an idiot, it's worthless now, he's been closed for months and months now he's asking for money so he can re-open. The last time I went in to get a hoggie they told me they already cleaned the slicer and couldn't make me a hoggie an hour before they closed. I turned and walked out and never returned.

I have mixed feelings about this store. I feel like it is trying hard to be a copy of Whole Foods,…read morebut failing miserably. The customer service is very distinctive between these 2 businesses. While this review isn't about Whole Foods, it would be wrong to consider the differences. When you ask for help, as I often do, the people at Whole Foods jump to attention and immediately assist in locating what you request. At Market District, they rarely help, shifting you to a different associate and passing the buck. I will admit that Market District has some unique features beyond the typical grocery. Their cheese section is very well done, and those employees are well informed. I feel like other parts of the store could benefit from the same attention to detail. The breads and bakery section seems to be a hit or miss proposition. You can find certain items there one day that are gone the next. It is as though they have no set pattern of baking and just make what they feel, so you could get good salt sticks one day and find none available the next day. The prepared foods can be a nightmare. I looked for a posted special and could only locate 2 of the necessary 5 items to complete their meal deal. I asked for help and waited while someone went to find someone else to answer my questions. When the right person finally arrived, they began pulling the meal deal special signs down. I'm not really interested in businesses that operate this way. If I'm in the area, I might stop in for some items. I will not go out of my way to shop here. There are far better and cheaper options available. In addition, Giant Eagle in general seems to enjoy playing bait and switch with customers. One card covers every one of their operations, but there is no cross promotions. You get different prices at GetGo, Giant Eagle, Giant Eagle Express and Giant Eagle Market District. They are all owned and operated under a single banner, but choose different pricing and specials for each location. Buyer beware.

Well, what can I say? Outrageous. I noticed last month they had eggs three for nickel, or something strange like that. I asked a worker why all the eggs in the display and why were they so cheap. He stated Giant Eagle "got busted for egg prices above what they should have been." And, offering the eggs for cheap must have been the punishment.
